I been going to Barry Rustproofing for several years. All my cars got treated there. I trusted these guys blindfolded. I left my car over night, so that it would be done first thing next day. I was expecting some smell, it's normal after Rustproofing. But a month later I could still smell that awefull rancid smell. The following month, I had business in their area again. So I stop to ask what they did to my car. Barry told me about that much cheaper grease that they were trying. I told him I would've like to be informed before they do test on my car. The bad smell gathers overnight, it's really stinky when I get in the car. It clears up when I drive with the windows open. To this day, 6 month later that smell is still present. I was a familiar face to them, a good costumer, why ruine that trust. I hate the smell so much, it make me hate my car now. Problem not solved. read more

I have been going to Barry's for past 7 years. I was referred by a mechanic friend of mine. He's the real deal. He is old school. He has treated three of my cars and I've never had issues afterwards. In fact, when I bring them in for inspection/tire change at my garage, they always complement how deep and meticulously the rust proofing is. Yes, touch ups are needed but not annually like many other places. His place is very spartan, but he does not pass on extra fluffy costs over to consumers. He's an honest business man, hardworking and above all ever so knowledgeable. It pleases me that my hard earned money is helping a local Montrealer and not some deep corporate pockets. His craft is his reputation! And he does not disappoint. I would never go to someone else, and dread the day he retires (many many years from now I hope!). I recently purchased a 2019 Honda Pilot this past Christmas, and my father highly recommended I get it rust proofed at Barry's before driving it back to Newfoundland (dad pretty much drives his cars until they don't drive anymore, and while they may be old, they always looked new and have never rusted!). I picked it up on Dec. 21st, and called Barry's. Given my short time window and the holidays approaching fast, I wasn't sure I would get in. The gentleman told me to bring it in on the Sunday morning of his first day of holidays. I can't thank him enough for accommodating me, they did such an outstanding job.
