We ducked in here during a brutal rainstorm and after our sunny visit to Ostia Antica in November 2023. The staff welcomed us in and we had a great table to take in the beautiful atmosphere here. Lots and lots of vines give this place "that" look. We had the fried appetizer sampler and also a seafood sampler. Both dishes were perfect for sharing and offered a good slice of local cuisine. Our very friendly waitress kept the wine coming. It was a great spot for losing track of time and waiting out a healthy Mediterranean storm. read more

This was a really cool find on the coast of Ostia. We decided to visit for lunch after our morning walk through the ruins of the ancient port. It was a great decision. If anything, for the atmosphere. I really love the interior dining area with all the hanging plants. It was quite lovely. We were greeted as we walked through the terrace to the entryway. I think it had just opened for lunch because there were only a few people seated. We had our pick of tables. The seating arrangement was comfortable. The service was good. It was a little detached, and that's okay. I like to have some interaction with the server, but that's not always possible when you're a tourist in a new place. We chose this restaurant more for the varied menu. Ostia is full of seafood, and my husband is more of a land lover. He ordered the Diavola from the Pinse & Roman Pizza side of the menu. I selected the Paccheri from the Pasta first course side. We shared an appetizer of Fritto Misto while waiting for the meal. We especially loved the fried ascolane olives & supplì (filled with rice, tomato sauce, and mozzarella). These were very tasty. The Paccheri sauce (carbonara) and seafood (mussels, clams, & octopus) was absolutely delicious. The pasta was a little too al dente for me. I think it's preferred that way in some regions. I forgot to ask them to cook it longer. It's a thicker pasta, so I didn't really know. My husband's pizza looked wonderful. He appeared to enjoy it. I'll let him write his own review. I would definitely revisit if ever in Lido di Ostia again. There were so many great options on the menu with affordable prices. It appears to be a popular restaurant. There weren't many seats left indoor or outdoor as we were leaving. The cooler weather in the month of May was perfect. It was a beautiful day! read more

Plenty of indoor and outdoor sitting. Had to move mid meal as a beautiful day turned cold and rainy. We sat down quickly and the service was relatively quick. The server was a bit rude but met our requests. The food was plentiful and pretty good. We had the spaghetti vogole which had plenty of clams and tasted great. The turbot with potato and cheese was good. We had the mixed friend starter which included fried mozzarella, fried olives, fried potato and ham, and fried tomato rice. The tomato and rice was interesting and flavorful. The quantity was good for both of us. read more

We had an absolutely great meal here! The service was friendly, relaxed yet prompt. We were able to be seated ay 6:45, inside so no flies! And because they were on point, we were finished by 8--important when you are a jet-lagged American. We started with caprese salad and calamari, my wife and I each splitting those two. Great light breading on the calamari. Give both of those a 4. Then moved in to 2 pasta dishes: spaghettti with ham, and carbonara with mussels and clams. The sauces were excellents on both. The tomato sauce with ham was delicious, and the white sauce on the seafood was rich with garlic and parmesan. Antico Traiano was an amazing experience, they offer a wide variety of sea-food oriented dishes, using fresh locally caught fish. The service and the atmosphere here were also very pleasing. I definitely reccomend stopping by. read more

This is an amazing restaurant in Ostia. I am staying here for a week and it's the third day in a row when me and my wife go here. Pasta is super delicious, meat mature and super tender. Good service as well, service is always included but cheap and the guys deserve it anyways. read more

This place filled quickly and the outdoor setting was a nice ambience. I initially waited nearly 10-15 min for my order to be taken but the good came quickly. While my main dish was the clams and spaghetti. The tomato bruschetta was fabulous. The clam sauce was also delicious. I had maybe 15 clam shells of which maybe 6 or so had clams - rest were empty - but the clam sauce made me forget about the number of clams. Very busy night and if you aren't in a hurry and who is on holiday in Italy; this was a nice treat. Staff friendly and some English. Really recommend the tomato bruschetta. Hmmmmmm read more

Too bad, such a great location and atmosphere. We were there right at 6:00 on a Monday. No issue getting a table. Service was fast, too fast. Ordered Greek salad, house wine and Seafood Carbonara. Wine and salad were very good. Timing of the carbonara was way off. Should have known when salad and carbonara came out together within 2 minutes. Pasta was way under cooked and seafood mainly over cooked. Obviously, pre-prepared except for the mussels which were descent. Also the octopus was missing in action. My wife did find a small piece after looking carefully. Luckily we shared everything. Unfortunately she had to rush out of the restaurant before I was finished and go next door to the pharmacy for some cream for the mosquito bites. read more

We had a great dinner--a pear, goat cheese and walnut salad; Margherita pizza; and pasta with a red sauce and shrimp; followed by a chocolate and pear puff pastry dessert.
