The food was PHENOMENAL, our server JP served much more than just food, he served us the most incredible, freshly made margs, 10/10 service, and pure speed! He even gave us Andes mints after our meal! They are very tech savvy up in here too they even have a robot named cha cha who sang and danced. Wow! If I could leave a zero I would. Got there at noon, they're busy I get it. Told the host we needed 5 chairs and a highchair... got seated never got a highchair... 20 mins later, our waitress finally shows up... no highchair... ordered drinks and a large queso... i eventually went and got a highchair myself after asking where they were... 10 mins later we get drinks and queso... there is a spider in the queso... so we've been here 30 mins at this point and finally got drinks and queso that we can't eat... she finally comes back for our food order... we order and wait another 40 mins for our food... waitress never comes to refill drinks in that time... we get our food and it's cold... I'm not talking luke warm but cold... the cheese was congealed and all the grease has puddled under the burrito... once again no refills on our drinks... so after 1 hour and 10 mins I get to finally enjoy my cold congealed greasy burrito with no drink... we finish eating and the waitress finally comes back and ask if we need anything.. at this point I'm highly irritated and just ask for the check... she's quick on bringing it back!!! Gives it to us and then immediately asks for it back because she forgot to add the queso (that we didn't eat due to the spider being in it) to the bill... Second time eating here in last 4 months. We live 40 miles away or we'd probably eat here more often. Leaving a review to say our meal and service was awesome. We both ordered the Pollo a la Parrilla and it was great. We like it now more than the chicken fajitas. The complimentary warm chips and spicy salsa were extra good too. Friendly service. The fresh housemade limeade was da bomb! Order a shot of tequila to make it a margarita lol. 3 stars for the fajita beef used in the taco carbon was very chewy and could use some marination to break down those fibers. Rice was as expected. Good Mexican food and service. I eat the magnolia most of the time which is chicken, shrimp, or beef. Poured over a bed of rice with peppers and onions and cheese served with warm tortillas and pico, sour cream and guacamole on request. read more

DO NOT try to book a lunch hour party there unless it is a larger one than 25 people or so. They charge a $300 minimum plus group tip, and they're rude about it. They also don't always make the $300 charge clear up front. I like most of their food, but cheese dip is as thin as milk & not very "cheesy." Lunch fajitas are a bit skimpy, too. Enchiladas are good, and crispy tacos are what you'd expect, but tasty. Chips & salsa are okay, but nothing special. Servers are attentive and polite. My family and I stopped here returning home from vacation. It was a Sunday afternoon, and the place was busy so I figured It could not be that bad. My first stop was at the hostess desk. The young lady working in that position clearly did not value dental hygiene. We were seated in a booth that required us to sit upright like a British soldier and the server was nowhere to be seen. I watched the crowd, they were clearly the post church crowd and appeared to be happy for the most part. As I waited for the server I counted 4 of them passing us without so much as a glance in our direction. The decor was a mix of wagon wheel country and 90's hotel lobby. I was struck by the amount of food on the floor and how satisfied people seemed to be to step on it and grind it into the carpet. When we finally got the menus I was struck by the obvious identity crisis that is Antigua's. There was Italian pasta with Alfredo on a page right next to the fried catfish and the mexican inspired food. I had to walk away, the menu was like a book with grammatical errors and no theme. My second stop was the ladies restroom. The smell was.... intense. It was not masked by the copious amounts of gel air fresheners placed on every flat surface in the restroom. (I should have left then, but we had been driving for hours.) Things did not improve. The service was awful. The server was snappy and pretended not to understand English. I cannot imagine what would make anyone give this place any stars. If you simply look at my photos you can see this is not quality food. My daughter ordered something that came with a "sour cream sauce". The mystery sauce was in fact, jarred Alfredo sauce. I can understand in this part of Arkansas, dining options are limited and they are trying to capitalize on this. However, there is no quality, and they seem to be interested in merely herding people in and out like cattle. If you stop here, do not expect a dining experience, but if you are content to toss some frozen dinner quality edibles down your gullet, then you could probably still find a better deal elsewhere. read more

Upon arrival, the place looked nice and the food on the tables looked good. Once we were seated, I quickly realized why it was so empty. Upon receiving my order of queso that was partially frozen, I asked mentioned it to the server and she rudely stated, sorry that's just how it is. Then the food came and it too was cold and looked like it was prepared days before. Not once did we receive refills on drinks, or anything at the table. Don't waste your time or money going here. I've had the best dinner here once. Pre- COVID, this place was always busy and we decided to try it. It was great. We've returned a few times (all pre-COVID) and the food wasn't the same. The beef fajita meat tasted cheap and was tough. For their prices, food is not worth it anymore. read more

I almost always get the grilled chicken taco salad but I have tried their other stuff and it is all good Tex-Mex. I only gave 4 stars because one of the last times I did dine in they gave me a glass of rancid old tea. Time stamp your food and beverage prep better and that can't happen. Excellent Tex-Mex! One of the better restaurants in town and certainly the best Mexican one. It is a bit hard to find as it is in the local Econo Lodge. I agree with Roxane that it would hold its own even compared to Tex-Mex joints in bigger cities. The lemonade is great! read more

Do not try to place an order on the phone. The person taking the phone orders does not know the menu and is apparently hearing impaired. My order was incomplete and when I called back I got a I don't care attitude. She asked if I would like to speak to a manager...uhh nope the manager isn't the one who screwed up my order. Twice I have had issues placing a phone order...lesson learned this time I should have done what I did last time hang up and call somewhere else. Antigua's just lost a customer. We love this place. Bear in mind that the older reviews are not really of *this* place, but when it was operating out of an old hotel years ago, and are not relatable to this locale. The owners/managers are quite nice. I feel like I'm with family (Forget that, not *my* family, LOL, but how I feel families should be!). The menu was recently changed - losing the one item my husband really loved. The salads are always fresh - and if it was *real* chicken that they were using for the salad, it would knock it out of the park as one of the best salads in town...Unfortunately, they use the chicken that kind of tastes like particle board/paper - the same chicken as Papa Poblano's. We come there mainly because of the service (quick), attentiveness of servers (kind, check by often but not so often one feels intruded upon), and yes, that salad is fresh!! You may just want to not eat the chicken unless it's in something else (i.e. enchilada, burrito, loaded baked potato). It needs spice; it's rather bland. But they've added an avocado salad, which I quite like. read more

Being unfamiliar with the area, this was the first place we saw near our hotel, Hampton Inn. So glad we stopped in as this was the absolute best Mexican food I've had in a long time. Food was delicious, good variety and great service. Morgan, our server, was extremely courteous and quick to get the food to our table as it still sizzled on the platter. Fajitas are not hard but chicken was bland and not grilled. The Guacamole had an awful taste to it like it was bad. That being said the salsa is good and chips were thin and crispy. There is no shortage of Mexican restaurants in this little town of El Dorado, Arkansas. Several good ones. Antiguas is one of the best. They have good food, low prices, it is clean, lots of seating, always plenty of servers around, always polite - you simply can't go wrong. So why not five stars? Maybe it's just the mood I'm in at the moment 'cause I'm thinking "could it be better", well, I guess it could, but, not easily, at least not from a price quality point. Go to Antiguas, you will be pleased.
