The gym is not a true gym, no hard wood floor or bleachers etc. But is spacious. They do have a really nice playground too. They have a hall way system where you walk on one side to go one way and the other side to go the other way and visitors can walk in the middle. Works out great so you are not cutting through a line or tripping over a kid! Only con to this school is their parking lot. If there is an event, play, concert, etc it is a MAD HOUSE, they allow people to block others in and pretty much you have to wait at your car until everyone who has blocked you in comes out of the building. They had a open house there on night, and being the think ahead prepared mommy that I am I arrived 45 minutes before the doors opened so I could get a parking space and be parked legally and not block anyone in. When it was time to leave i literally waiting at my car for 45 MINUTES until some jerk finally came out and moved. This school definitely needs a bigger parking area! I was told there is a lot right next door to the school that they were trying to get and I pray that they do because it is impossible to fit everyone in their parking lot at one time for a function. And parking on the side of the street is impossible because both sides of the road are drop offs so the only place for parents to park it in the parking lot.

We drive 20 miles out of the way, 10 in each direction with traffic just to get her here each day having moved away from the neighborhood and I will continue to because she loves it here and I love her being here.

They have amazing teachers, and many programs to help young kids grow into the best them they can be. I will never forget the etiquette class I took in 3rd grade. Almost 20 years later, those lessons still resonate with me. My son is a year and a half, but I already can't wait for him to enjoy his time at Robert F Woodall!

The black lady with glasses in the office is so rude and racist and she doesn't even do her job…read moreright. She is rude even to army vets and only when they're Hispanic. She made us purposely wait and made us miss lunch when that was the whole point of going and she was just talking to a teacher of non school related things and when I reminded her she kept being rude and yelling at me and all the Hispanic people she made us wait and didn't attend us and then when she does she has the biggest attitude and complains about "people" right infront of us. She was telling the Hispanic army vet that she wanted to see other forms of id. I heard him even confused. Please do something or we will all take our students out. This black office lady is being racist and targeting Hispanics. She told my daughter that she was a liar and that she doesn't know how to open a door. and she kept calling people and my family memebers that are emergency contacts to my daughter. And since I'm Hispanic but I speak English fluently she refused to help and asked for a translator and then she made me wait and didn't do anything but yap with the teachers and kept telling me I'm wrong and I'm not on MY daughter's emergency contact and she didnt even want to check or make sure.. her and the other black teacher kept calling me a liar until this nice nurse lady told them grab the book and check and they still kept telling me no and kept telling me im not a contact or anybody. and saying I'm not in there until the nurse kept telling them over and over that I am and she recognizes me cause I visit all the time. They are always rude and give the most attitude I don't think they are fit for this job they make it so difficult and they only make it difficult for us Hispanics. like another staff does not have to tell you someone is the parent because you wanted to be racist and rude and didnt even want to check.. she even grabbed my id and everything so i dont know why the black office lady with glasses did all that... I didn't want to think that but all the times I go I notice the same. She is so racist and rude. She sees a Hispanic person and before we talk she asks if we speak English she also looks at us with the most nastiest look like we did something when all we are doing is waiting for our kids. Please do something or I will report this again and again. She is no principal or higher up it's the lady that opens the office doors and calls our kids out of class and let's us visit but when Hispanic people try like I said she makes it impossible and ignored you. Performance aside, this is a school that should be an example of how well schools can work when faculty, parents, and community collaborate to reach a common goal of giving our children a well rounded education. All the props though really belong to the faculty here, they are tireless in their dedication and every one of them approachable and eager to work with you. Curriculum is built around language and reading. Children visit the Libra each day to check out books. They will also be receiving 30 minutes of Spanish instruction each day and will be amazingly fluent within their 5 year tenure at the school. Beyond that, the vibe is everything you hope and expect to find in East Nashville; friendly, open, diverse. Before this was Eakin it was Calvert elementary comprehensive school I used to go to this school…read moreback in 1972 thru the early part of 1974 I had great friends at this school years ago yes I got in trouble a few times lol but this school was fun during class math was sometimes hard and spelling or reading was ok you just have to remember what the story was about the best teachers I had was miss Bonnafield she was great and worked with me and my parents back then to improve me to make me better and I'm proud to have had a teacher like her now the other things I liked is getting in line to go eat lunch or going outside to play those were my favorite and in the winter I loved the snow when there was no school I loved the springtime to as well as the fall summer was to hot for me but sometimes I get out and play at home during the late afternoons to where it cools down a bit finally the most important thing I liked about Cavert was making good friends and getting to know them !!!!!

I have a kid that needs additional interventions to catch up, and another that is moving well beyond his grade level, and they are both supported educationally with care and professionalism. School counseling support is excellent. It is insanely diverse in every way shape and form, and no matter who you are or where you come from, you will be welcomed into the community here. It is a public school, so it lends itself to the general struggles of public schools everywhere, but I wouldn't want my kids anywhere else. It is a lottery school, so you can lottery in from the outskirts.
