We haven't been inside Antique Angel since our elopement 10 years ago. And over the past month I had been trying to work with the team so I could go in with my husband when we came to town. They were very kind and willing to help. Communication about 3 weeks ago became spotty, only to find out that last week, poor Bev had an issue with her heart and was rushed into emergency surgery. Rightfully so, I haven't heard anything since. But to those who are being nasty about this, if you call to confirm and there's no answer, move on and find a different place instead of waiting until day of to get mad about it. The staff here are, at the very least, LIKE family and they are all trying to process what this could mean. Be kind. ***ALERT*** Mar 28, 2025, we were supposed to be married today. This date was special as we recently reconnected after dating as teenagers. Today is the 50th anniversary of our first date. We've been calling and leaving messages for Bev all week to confirm plans. No return call. I drove to the site this morning to find a sign on the door stating a family emergency and the chapel would be closed. I certainly hope nothing happened to Bev as she is up in age but I know she has people that work for/with her and somebody should have called! We had to scramble to make alternate plans! I came here to accompany my sister on her special day as the Maid of Honor. On arrival we were greeted with what felt like hostility and judgment. We made an appointment prior to our arrival and came in early to ask about the possibility of renting a dress. The women told us that they hated when people came in prior to their wedding to get fitted for a dress. We came in early out of consideration for their time so they didn't feel rushed and still the entire time they were counting and commenting on the time we spent in the facility. As my sister tried on the 2 dresses they handed her they made comments like, "is she dumb" and "the groom is in for a treat with her". I tried to be friendly despite the negativity and even started talking to one of the ladies about her bar she used to own. We decided not to rent a dress after all. As we waited in the foyer for the groom to return from the car to update him on our decision the women started making comments about the time spent inside (35minutes according to them). At this point I could no longer hold myself back from responding to them. As we walked out I told them "We are leaving, we don't want to interupt". I believe it may have finally clicked in their head that their attitude was uncalled for because they tried to call my attention to talk to me. We decided this was not the place for us. We ended up finding alternative accommodations due to the service (or lack thereof) we received at this establishment. It was worth taking the deposit as a loss because nothing is more important that having a magical day when you get married. read more

What was supposed to be a happy ceremony quickly became sour when the officiant, Beverly, walked into the room and already seemed impatient and grumpy. She told the groom to "stand here" and the bride to "stand here" and started speaking her lines. Not even any heads up that we were about to start so that everyone could get settled in their seats. When we started taking photos with our cell phones, were quickly scolded like children and were told that only one phone was allowed to take photos. Whoever made that rule needs to re-evaluate their business. (Fyi they also charged $25 to take photos on your own cell phone!) In addition, Beverly completely disregarded an important request that was made at the time of booking and confirmation, with no apology or sympathy for her mistake. Payment after the ceremony was also a nightmare. Extra charges were snuck into the total amount and good luck trying to see an itemized bill. Long story short, Beverly was such a cold hearted person throughout the entire experience and was not at all considerate of the bride & groom's big day. And from yelp it looks like she's the owner of the place, so I highly recommend to bring your business elsewhere. read more

My daughter Ashliee Erb and her husband now Cameron Phillips had were very nervous. We asked if they can read their vows. They never gave us an answer. So they went by what the lady read. Then, we asked a couple days prior about an elevator being Ashliee got a last minute RSVP her grandma was coming so she wanted make sure grandma had access to the Swan room being her grandmother is 94 years old can't walk down stairs that easy with a walker. They seemed upset when she called to confirm. She wanted to make as easy as possible for grandma. All she ever wanted was grandma at her wedding. So to make it happen was very important to her. She was stressing everyday tills the day of wedding to make sure grandma came. my son n law Cameron told me they were very rude when he came in before the wedding. To do the final payment. My husband and I just got married here, it was very convenient, moderately priced, location is right on the end of the strip so plenty of choices for parking. The minister was amazing, very friendly we talked about the Reno area while she filled out our paperwork which gave a down home feel to the process. There was an option for no "God" to be mentiond which was perfect for us but there was also a traditional ceremony which make it good for whatever you are looking for. She was well spoken with a pleasant voice and a shinning personality. If you are looking to get married right this second as we where ( we decided yesterday and got married today) I would highly recommend this location. I would like to start by not recommending this chapel to any couple who is considering it. If a 0/5 stars were possible, I would still rate them -5/5. This past Friday, I was part of the bridal party, upon arriving up until leaving this experience was stressful. For this ceremony, we were working with Bev. The bride and groom made a special trip to Reno before the wedding to tour the chapel, review rates, etc. They were quoted $338 for the total price, which was the total attendance, standard gratuity per their website, and video of the ceremony. After the ceremony, they were charged $400 along with no explanation of the extra amount. Bev made multiple outbursts, she first began by telling my husband,  who was also in the bridal party, "it would have been nice to know that they wrote their vows." If you are paying for a wedding ceremony, why would it be a problem if you come with vows prepared? While it was just her and my father-in-law in the waiting area, Bev, unprovoked, stated that "she is not racist, but "There are so many "dark people" moving here, driving around with no insurance hit and running cars." Leaving him feeling uncomfortable and in shock at what he had just heard. She also took my grandfather's boutonniere pin when he was trying to get it on and threw it away telling him it was not the right size when everyone else had no problem with the size of their pin when my grandfather was just asking for some help. Assuming it was the least of things he would get hassled over. The bride and groom prearranged with Bev they would be bringing their photographer, when the photographer asked if the camcorder could be moved slightly, Bev then asked her, "If she has ever photographed a wedding?" and "She needs to work around it" followed by more degrading comments. The bride and groom also chose a song for the entry. Bev asked and then felt the need to say "Oh my god, why would they choose that?". Again, she is getting paid and not paying for it, and it is none of her business to add comments to their choices for their wedding. Meanwhile, the guests and the bride and groom are all waiting downstairs in the Garden Chapel for Bev, who stated, "We are waiting for two more people." The ceremony was scheduled for 4 p.m., and it was now close to 4:15 when she decided it was time to start but not before telling others, "It is not her fault." Before the entry of the bridal party, she very rudely gave us instructions on how we needed to walk and how what order to stand, which we already had arranged where we each were standing, and had to explain to her those at the front of the line, were at the end of the line at the alter. The most unbelievable happened next when Bev let the bride and her father get up to the alter and then announced, "There was a malfunction, which is not my fault, so everyone go back and start over." I have never encountered a person like Bev, who you are supposed to trust with your wedding, to not make sure she started the camcorder before even the bridal party is walking let alone let the bride meet her emotional groom at the alter and then tell everyone to go back and start over. Myself, the bride and groom, and the other 57 guests in attendance were speechless by this action. Of course, mistakes happen but Bev takes no ownership of her actions blaming anyone she can for everything. This is something she makes her career out of and she cannot check the camcorder before to make sure it is in working order. Following the ceremony, Bev made it clear the space is only rented for one hour and that pictures and everything will need to be done before that time even though it was she who was twenty minutes late. While the guests were exiting she also told them, "not my fault." Today, Sunday, the bride and groom retrieved their video from Bev, where she explained to them, "It was the ladies in the green dresses who held up the wedding for twenty minutes."  Well, hello everyone, I am one of the ladies in the green dress who was waiting for her after SHE told us, the ladies in the green dress, that we were waiting for two more people and then disappeared. I will also be sending this review to their website in hopes that they will reach out with at the least, an apology. It is very upsetting to see the bride and groom leave their wedding treated poorly, overcharged, and traumatized from their experience. Please reconsider if you are even thinking of using the Antique Angel Chapel. If you read other low-rated Google reviews many states that Bev often referred to as "older lady", was also rude during their experience. read more

My fiancee (then) booked this location after recommendations from friends who reside in Reno and after we cancelled our 150-guest wedding in San Jose, CA (our hometown. I cannot emphasize how much they ruined our day, so I'll attempt to minimize my rant: Given, the majority of our conversations were via telephone, all ladies had a tart tone while communicating with me (the bride). Nonetheless, I booked solely out of desperation. My fiancee drove us up for my birthday weekend, to do some wedding planning and to relax. We first visited the chapel, after our 5-hour drive from San Jose. I noticed that they had their own standard officiant wording, that they read for every ceremony. As a woman who majored in Linguistics, we decided to write our own. Beverly said that would be fine. I EMPHASIZED her to call so we can go over all of my written words. She blew it off. Our words were of this layout: opening prayer; moment of silence for our beloved family members; Hawaiian lei exchange; officiant words (a mixture of Bible scriptures and quotes); vow exchange; ring exchange; Lord's prayer and the kiss... Beverly, rudely demanded to remove the moment of silence; officiant words... Thus, final layout was: opening prayer; Hawaiian lei exchange; officiant words (a mixture of Bible scriptures and quotes); vow exchange; ring exchange; Lord's prayer and the kiss... Frank and I arrived separately, so we didn't see each other until we walked down the aisle. I was running late, so I called to ask what side my husband would be standing on, so I could be on my father's opposite side... they wouldn't give such information over the phone. Thus, I ran into the dressing room OVER STRESSED. I walked out of the dressing room, Ginger still could not tell me if I was on the correct side or not. ... The music comes on, my tears start flowing... I am instantly angered to see that my husband is on the right side; whereas I was on my father's right arm. NOW COME ON!!!!! Many of our guests compared Beverly to Willie Nelson, due to her appearance, the mumbling of her voice and smell. Ceremony started off crappy, when she butchered the pronunciation of our names. I was livid, but tried to retain my cool. Given we had to omit the moment of silence, I put in there "let us honor the bride's great-grandmother, who passed 21 years to date, Jennie Padilla." Beverly slurs out, "let us honor the bride's great-grandmother, who passed 21 DAYS to date, Jennie Padilla." The sloppy camera caught me rolling my eyes at Beverly. The rest of the ceremony was butchered and slurred. If a couple is paying for photographs and videography, Beverly/one person should not be responsible for all three tasks going on simanteneously. All photos with the exception of four are print worthy. I specifically asked for our DVD to say "Frank & Michelle Galvan." NOPE!!! We returned from our honeymoon to be greeted with a "Frank & Michelle Chavez" DVD. Pictures and DVD show production times at 3:30-4:30 am, which makes me question the Willie Nelson theory. I complained, Beverly promises a new DVD that states our name properly... NOPE!!!! I am currently waiting on the third DVD... I am not surprised that this is NOT a BBB accredited business. Otherwise, BBB would have been the first to hear from me. I cried so hard that night; thank you Beverly and Ginger. We were married today at the Antique Angel in the Garden Chapel. Our minister was gracious, charming, and delivered such a touching oration I ended up crying. The room was beautiful and the entire experience was very much what I wanted it to be. I must admit I was a bit apprehensive about the "Reno" wedding. Not at all what I was expecting. This was a very unexpected and delightful ceremony, with a lot of care given to the words shared with us. We have both been married before and felt like this was as meaningful as anything we had experienced before. When Covid started getting serious in March 2020, I decided to make a backup plan even though everyone thought I was crazy. I researched outdoor chapels in Reno (where we live) and found Antique Angel! I told them my story that we are supposed to get married on June 4th in Gilroy, CA but wanted to book this as a backup just Incase the stay at home orders and lockdowns would still be in place. They were super easy to work with and let me book a 1pm ceremony for my original date. I am so glad I went with my gut and booked this because as you can guess, we had to postpone the big wedding celebration to 2021 due to Covid. Then of course we had to play the waiting game to see if the chapel would even be open by the time it was June 4. Long story short, all the stars aligned and we got to have our very small wedding on our original date! (Planning a last minute wedding during a pandemic is not for the weak lol) The venue we were married at was GORGEOUS. In fact, my friends ended up getting married there in the same exact spot a few weeks after us after I highly recommended it to them. I'm so thankful for the way everything turned out. My partner and I reside in San Francisco and weddings or any social gatherings are completely shut down. We tried booking in San Mateo county as they are open, however you have to jump through so many hoops in order to make anything happen. So while we were in Reno we looked around and ended up doing a rushed ceremony which at first I wasn't crazy about but at the same time, so many people stress out way too much about a wedding as it's this huge ceremony where everything has to go right. Honestly y'all need to get over yourselves. It's just a wedding. It isn't life or death. My husband and I plan to have another ceremony in a more beautiful setting outside with our family and friends as we don't have any family here. So for us, this wasn't our end all be all wedding. We just know that we love each other. The clothing we wore and even the rings that I made for the event are just temporary. This woman on here from San Jose... girl, you are too much! If you had sent me that script to read aloud and perform, I would've charged you an extra $500. This ceremony in total is like $200. You want a special wedding where everyone does what you say with a list of rules of what needs to happen, pay for it. Did you offer Beverly or Sandra and tips or money to do what you want. Get over yourself. And to top it off. I live in sf, stop exaggerating your 5 hour drive. It literally takes 3 hours from San Francisco. So San Jose being 1 hour away, would be 4 hours. When you lie about one thing, it makes everyone question everything you say. Please get off your high horse. Beverly and Sandra were so amazing here. They helped us out and told us how to get everything. They didn't charge for photos like all the bad reviews are saying. They were just super sweet and gracious. Had a wonderful Service by the river! Everything was perfect! My only complaint would be I wish there was an option to have more pictures. We paid them to take the pictures, we haven't looked at them yet, however I was disappointed I couldn't take MORE pictures with my family, those moments I cant have back. Only a few group shots, not sure how to describe... Like I said we LOVED the vows, we LOVED the simplicity, Very intimate.... We were married in the Garden Room on December 16th, and it was wonderful! Our sincere thanks to Beverly and Sandra for answering all of our questions the day before the ceremony, for making our friends and family feel welcome, for the beautiful ceremony, and for the great pictures! We would definitely recomend this venue for anyone who wants a hassle-free wedding in Reno, or an intimate ceremony. P.S. For anyone curious about pictures; we were asked after the ceremony who we wanted in photos, and afterwards the photographer made a point to ask everyone who wanted pictures together to get up so she could take them. We enjoyed the banter with her during photo time (she even started reciting the speech from The Princess Bride, which had us all cracking up) and appreciated the fact that she took each picture at least twice (the bride likes to close her eyes when the flash hits, lol). We purchased the biggest picture package, which was 50 pictures, and received 86 (basically every picture she took). TERRIBLE MINISTER IN ANTIQUE ANGEL WEDDING CHAPEL RENO NV We got married on October 18, 2018 at 1PM. The Minister who performed the ceremony was Beverly. She was ok during the ceremony but as soon as she became the photographer after our wedding, she turned into the rudest and the nastiest person! I paid $75.00 for them to take pictures of our wedding but I also paid them extra $25.00 so my daughter inlaw can also take pictures. During the photo sessions, she was so rude to us! She yelled at my daughter inlaw saying "GO TO YOUR MOM!" so she can take pictures of us together. When I asked her if I she can take a picture of me and my son, she rudely and loudly asked "WHY?" I was ready to walked out during that photo sessions! She really ruined my special day! I don't understand why they let the Minister take pictures after the ceremony, specially as rude as Beverly! If you want to get married there, make sure the Minister and the photographer is not Beverly! I'm not familiar with the wedding chapel scene in Reno so I had to rely on what I saw in pictures. Judging from what I saw in pictures and researching the other chapels in the area, I decided to book a wedding for my uncle at the Antique Angel. Me being from Norcal, I called AA and they were more than helpful in the wedding planning process since us, the wedding party and AA were communicating from a distance. I forgot the sweet lady's name I was talking to :/ as this took place months ago. But everything went according to plan, even better than we had expected it to. The wedding took place in August, so it was warm with a cool breeze here and there. Perfect weather for an outdoor wedding! Instead of having the ceremony in a chapel we opted for the river which cost us an additional but small fee and is walking distance from the actual chapel. The actual ceremony took about 10 minutes. The minister began with the usual "We are gathered here today..." and then read some scripture from the Bible, and then had the bride and groom exchange vows. After that, she gave them a blessing and pronounced my uncle and his fiancee husband and wife...in 10 minutes maybe even less. The river water mind you was not a beautiful blue green color but more of a polluted green color but you forget all that when you hear the calmness of the water running over the rocks and the waterfall wall. The gazebo and columns were perfect for picture taking after the ceremony. If your looking to marry quickly or just have a simple yet beautiful wedding ceremony, Antique Angel is the place to go to start that journey. read more

We absolutely loved this Chapel! My newly Husband and I were a bit nervous , had a bit of the jitters but the Minister was lovely, very well mannered which helped a lot calming my own nerves. Besides all that goodness, we had a tour of the ceremony rooms for us to pick from, which were all beautifully decorated. This chapel was a wonderful place to have a ceremony. My husband and I had our ceremony in The Garden and we were very happy we chose it. Everything turned out very wonderful and beautiful from the ceremony to the floral arrangements. It definitely made it a day to always remember and cherish. Being able to take pictures by the river as well was very exciting and fun to do. The staff was also very helpful and kind and made our special day go so smoothly. read more
