Stayed here for 4 nights. It's a nice place. Checked in at 3pm but the room was not ready. The person at the front desk said it was because they were sold out the night before and the turn around is running a little late. It was a short wait of about 15 minutes before they were able to give us our room info. We booked a larger room with a king bed so our son could have a bit more room to roam. Room was clean, bed was comfy. AC was easy to control. It did have a microwave and mini fridge. Emphasis on the mini for the fridge. Pool was semi heated. The outside temp was in the 60s so the water felt about room temp. Whirlpool was nice and warm. The fitness center has the basic weights and cardio machines. Laundry facilities only had 1 washer and dryer. We had dinner at the bistro located in the lobby area. Basic foods of salads, sandwiches, pizza and burgers. Didn't know they had a kids menu until we had placed our order and one of the workers (the one who didn't assist us) asked the family behind us if they wanted a kids menu. The bistro is only open during certain hours (breakfast and diner mainly. Grab and go snacks and some travel items available at the "market" next to reception. However, there are food options nearby as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay. read more

This Courtyard was disappointing. Damn these employees hate their customers. No hellos or eye contact or name tags or anything. Makes you realllyyy uncomfortable traveling alone. Water bottle filler in the gym. Wall AC. Microwave and mini fridge. Lots of homeless in area and sleeping on the river. Lots of bugs. Views are nothing- trees you can barely see water. There is a nice side patio by the river but bugs are plentiful. Parking is only $15 but you have to go outside and in the elevator to the garage across the street. Coffee shop across the street opens at 7ish. Courtyard "Starbucks" opens at 6:30 but again the staff is :( Room had a broken light fixtures and all the soap holders in the shower was loose with screws out. Also, the room stank whenever I came back so maybe shared with a stinky neighbor? Would I stay here again by choice? No. read more

Location: downtown Reno but not right next to the casinos. It is literally across the street from the Reno Aces baseball stadium and alongside the scenic Truckee River flowing by below the hotel bank. Parking: $15/night. In the multilevel parking garage across the street; the garage also houses business offices. Note: there isn't much vertical clearance; the large pickup trucks I saw were almost scraping the ceiling pillars. Cost: $510 for 2 nights for a regular room with 2 queen beds, nothing special. $205 for a Tuesday night, $215 for Wednesday, and assorted taxes. Front desk/kiosk: on check-in and checkout I can't say the clerks were the most welcoming or personable I've ever met, they just do their job. Room: mostly clean, usual Marriott. But it didn't pass the "white glove test" as the top of the shower curtain bar was black dusty. As was the top edge of the vanity mirror. A/C was frigid. Mini frig worked. No noise. No view, other rooms. Beds: comfortable, pillows not so, hope they change the comforter after each stay. Nightstand electrical outlets: two 3-prong outlets, one worked only if you jiggled the plug. I told the clerk when we checked out. Elevators: 2, not much wait. Hand sanitizer: the only one that worked was on the lobby level, the other floors had units installed on the wall but no push piece and nothing came out - just for show! Starbucks in the lobby but I didn't patronize it. This was my second time staying here. It's in a good location for me, I'd probably stay here again or at an Airbnb. read more

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! At check in when we walked in the lady didn't make eye contact and just asked my name. No welcome or "hi" nothing. Very unpleasant customer service. The $400/night river view room overlooked a homeless encampment! It was warm so we slept with window open and the people in homeless camp were screaming and fighting half the night. The surrounding blocks were had many homeless and questionable people and I did not feel safe walking around or across the entrance to the public/hotel parking garage. The snacks they serve are over priced and have to wait for staff to order any food/drink which was again limited. The room is incredibly small and cramped. It was quiet as in we didn't hear neighbors tv or talking but the homeless fighting and inability to open curtains to enjoy the river was a shame. I will not stay here again and probably stay at a different chain completely especially one with complimentary breakfast read more

Stayed here for our mini vacation to Reno. It was a very nice hotel. We had no issues with the rooms, the hotel was doing a silent auction that benefited kids, and the employees were so hospitable. Parking was $15 ( I believe a night.) The hotel was located across from their baseball park which was cool and everything was about a 5 minutes drive from the hotel. Being off the water was very nice and it was calming. I saw the other hotels in town and I think I'll stick with the Marriott for every stay in Reno. read more

These Courtyards are indepently franchised and this hotel has gone downhill. We have stayed here several times and each time we see things that need work. Understaffed. Both recent stays the room were never made up the next day. This time there was a loud clacking sound in the middle of the night, several times a night , I think due to pipes heating up and expanding and I thought I heard a dripping sound in the walls. The staff is expected to do too much and guests have to wait while a person has to leave one area to make a drink at the bar, and they are not bartenders, they don't know the drinks. Previous to that, the room we got was a smoker room, I told them and they were 'shocked'. Kitchen staff looked overworked. And you get all that for $300/night. read more

Stayed for one night when the baseball team was out of town. The room was very nice and the shower was a full walk in with a clever "pass thru" to place shampoo and such without getting wet. As others have noted there is free parking in the adjacent parking garage. There is a narrow lane for check in and limited immediate parking for loading / unloading. Mellow Fellows is an outstanding brew pub located in the parking structure on street level. Unfortunately we were told by the bartender they were closing end of August due to low volume (when the baseball team is not playing). In general the area was very lightly populated for one day stay. On a more macro note, downtown Reno seems to be dying. The 2 block Harrah's site has been abandoned. Numerous other abandoned/closed businesses and buildings. read more

I booked a room here for two reasons; 1) I'm a Bonvoy member and wanted the points/night credits. 2) It was a quick, less than ten minute walk to the events center. We had tickets to see Fluffy. This was my first experience with a Courtyard and I'm thrilled to say it was a great one. All of the employees were friendly, check-in was a breeze, parking was conveniently located in the parking garage next door, it's within walking distance to several attractions/restaurants, and our room was clean. The only negative remark I have is the bedding. The pillows were actually better than a lot of Marriott properties I've stayed at, but the mattress wasn't all that comfortable. I didn't sleep well at all on either night. Aside from that, it's a great property. If you need a room near the events center, ball park, or river walk at a reasonable rate and don't want to stay in a smoke filled, tacky casino, then book here. read more

Great location, walking distance to bars/restaurants/casinos, ballpark is a stone throw away, among other things. Kaiser was a great pleasure to see upon arrival with his professionalism and smile. Too bad he was on there for a short while, but I'm sure his home location is proud to have him as an employee. I don't recall receiving a welcome amenity upon arrival as a Bonvoy member, but no worries. The room was big, clean, spacious, and hotel staff followed my requests with extra pillows and towels. Since I was there for work my Bistro visits were delightful every time I wanted food or drinks. They also serve happy hour and since the services were limited because of the pandemic, I absolutely had no complaints on the items I ordered. For breakfast the breakfast burrito was filling; eggs, bacon, home fries, and wheat toast is always great way to start the day. In the evening the caesar salad with tomatoes added were good! Major shout out to Petra and Mericio for all of their help. They truly were a highlight to my day whenever I walked through the lobby in passing or when I was going for a happy hour drink, just to sit and chat (when they were not busy), or for a quick bite to eat. For avid coffee drinkers .... hurry up and get the coffee machines working! The pool could look more inviting. The marketplace could offer better options. Can't say that I will be in Reno again but if so this will be a comfortable place for me to stay! read more

My first time and will be going there again . Nothing extraordinary about this hotel except it is in downtown and the Truckee river flows right next to it and from the window you can see a beautiful river flowing and the mountains at far . Very ordinary fitness center and indoor pool like you see at most of the hotel . No water in the room even for platinum members but they have market place and Starbucks at the hotel . The lady who checked me in was very customer friendly but the guy in the morning probably is not happy working there or May be having a bad day . Really disappointed with our stay here. Our room was across the street from the ballpark (not over the river, which is what you'd expect based on photos and previous reviews), with little to no sound cancellation. We were woken up frequently by conversations and the tv running from patrons in the rooms next to us and above us, as well as a marathon that started setup at the field at 6:30 am on Sunday morning. The pillows were also horrible, we had to sleep with two stacked on top of each other because they were so cheap and worn down. Plus the hotel has no free water or anything hospitality oriented like coffee in the morning - you get up charged for everything. The tv also barely worked - half the available channels wouldn't load, and we had to call the front desk to reset the router to get even some of those channels working. It sounded like a very common problem this hotel faces, not sure why management hasn't gotten it fixed if so. The only benefits to this hotel were that it was very clean and smoke-free. read more

Check in was smooth and every employee was very friendly, especially the young guy who works at night. The room was clean and the beds were pretty comfortable. We brought our own pillows and I am glad we did because the hotel pillows were very thick. There are only two EV chargers in the parking garage on the 3rd floor, one J1772 and one Tesla destination charger which is 48A. We were fortunate to find the Tesla charger unoccupied the night we arrived as our car was at 23%, however the other two nights the charger was taken. We were able to charge during the day for a few hours so we made it back home without needing to supercharge. My advice for Tesla owners would be to bring your J1772 adapter in case you need to use the non-Tesla charger. We tried to order food from the restaurant using the QR code in the room but it refused to take our order because it was 15 minutes until closing. It is inconvenient to have the parking garage separate from the hotel. I read that during baseball games (this hotel is right across the street from the stadium) that the parking garage is nuts. Really my only complaint is the poor insulation that caused us to be woken up very early by loud footsteps from the room above us. Oh, and the price at $250/night with a promo code we got from Jam On It (basketball tournament we attended) was kind of high. With parking and taxes it was nearly $900 for 3 nights. I'd be okay paying that for a 4 star hotel but it's really pushing it for a 3. read more

The location near the ballpark is really great for games. Parking if you have a larger vehicle is a bit to be desired, with an addl charge per night as well. Room looked nice and was a good size. There was a bit of a musty smell in the hotel and room as well. Staff were really friendly and attentive. The "Starbucks" is not really a Starbucks but more of a "lite" experience. Coffee wasn't anything special and they didn't have much. Lobby is nice and the water access is a nice touch. Some pleasant outdoor spaces to relax as well. HotelIs otherwise clean including rooms. The bathtub shower is very slippery, a mat is def needed. I'm guessing this is why there are handles to grab. Room had a microwave and mini fridge. Well appointed but would probably stay at a different place when in Reno next. Wasn't too expensive with a promotion, but not worth it unless you need to be downtown or going to a game. read more

This was a last minute change of plans when our Airbnb reservation ended up being a disaster. We looked on hotels.com and was able to grab a better deal than calling to check the rate- $154/night when we talked to the person over phone but $130/night when we checked hotels.com. So obviously we booked it thru hotels.com. We checked in around midnight and the front desk staff was friendly and made us feel relieved to know we had a clean, comfy place to rest our heads for the next two nights. Our room was very clean, nice updated amenities, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, safe, AND a bin for recycling which made my eco friendly heart sing! The shower had reasonable water pressure and the beds were quite comfy. The heat was set for 70 but we like to sleep in cooler temps so we pumped the temp down and opened the window and the temp kept a steady 68F thru the night and the following day. TV worked great, wifi seemed to work well and the front desk accommodated requesting more towels when needed. We chose not to have any servicing of our room all day since we felt it was not needed. There was food offered for a fee but the prices were a bit steep and we already had brought breakfast items with us. We didn't have any issues with noisy neighbors. I also noticed recycling containers around the hotel which was impressive to me that they were highly visible for guests to use. We had a rental car and used the parking garage for $15/day- it seemed like a bit much for parking but even the cost for two nights plus parking for two days was still less than two nights at our original Airbnb! There were plenty of comfy areas to sit and lounge along with an area to print boarding passes for flights. If we are back in town we would easily come back to this location. read more

Stayed here for one night recently before a wedding rehearsal. The hotel is in a great location. I didn't even know there was a minor league ballpark in Reno! And the view of the river from our room was really nice. The lady who checked us in wasn't very welcoming but the lady who served us drinks at their small bar was amazing! She made me a delicious martini and was very friendly. The beds were comfy and they had a little area with Starbucks and breakfast items in the morning but I didn't check that out since I had to get to the rehearsal. Overall, this is a nice Marriott and would recommend for when staying in Reno - and even better if attending a game across the street! read more

The bed was lumpy, and I felt like I was at a disco all night because the smoke detector light was rapidly flashing a green light directly in front of my face while laying in bed. I'm not where to start. This property isn't your typical Courtyard experience. It's well below what you would come to expect from this brand. It's more like a motel 6. Service has been horrible. I booked a room with a king bed. They put in in a queen bed room but didn't have the courtesy to even tell me this. I went back down and said I reserved a room with a king bed, and they said too bad. The noise from the freeway is horrible. There is no thermostat. It's winter and 30 degrees outside, but I need to run the air conditioner to prevent the room from getting too hot, but with no thermostat, it just runs all night. The window leaked water all night long last night. Dripping all night. Floor wet. I asked them to fix it. They tried, but now it's leaking again tonight, so I will have to deal with that again. They have offered no compensation for the continued inconveniences. It's just not a Marriott in any way. I don't recommend staying here. I will definitely not be coming back. Very disappointed. Going to be staying at the new Hyatt from now on. The company that owns this place needs to do some serious reflection on the level of customer service they are providing. I will be filing a complaint with corporate. read more

In looking for a good spot to stay in town, my friends and I landed on this little gem. The Riverside Marriot Courtyard is nestled in an odd spot along the banks of the Truckee, and I am very impressed with how they utilized this smaller lot space. Right off the bat, I can say I really enjoyed my time staying here. One thing we found pleasantly surprising is that this is a much quieter, calmer, and more chill sort of place in the downtown core. With only a few minor downsides, I think this is an excellent choice to consider if you are looking to stay in Reno. The rooms themselves were very clean and well organized. I really dig the contemporary style in the décor. Service was very friendly and helpful. When we lost our keys or needed to get some info about the city, the front desk staff were very pleasant to deal with and prompt in helping us out. Housekeeping as well, were very friendly. However, the one drawback is that they apparently do not do full turndown service until you stay at least five nights, and we had to ask repeatedly to get fresh towels and toiletries. We understand some of this is still due to COVID protocols to protect the staff, but least some additional heads-up about it would have been appreciated, and perhaps stocking up the rooms with a few extra towels and toiletries in advance. The amenities offered at the hotel are quite good, and we took full advantage of them during our stay. In the front lobby you will find the in-house café, serving up snacks, small plates, coffee, and alcohol. Plenty of tables, some with small built-in TVs, as well as the big-screen located off in the corner, at which we saw several guests catching the football game one evening. Prices for food are a bit high, we thought, and the café closes relatively early, but opens up again for dinner in late afternoon with a decent happy hour. Also, we did not see any complementary breakfast options, which as hotel travelers, we are sort of used to seeing. There is also a small in-house shop, selling all sorts of packaged foods, snacks, drinks and supplies. Certainly a convenience we appreciated. Outside is a very nice patio with a fire pit and a view of the river, which is no doubt an amazing spot to hang out on during summer nights, and there is even a small courtyard for quieter settings. The gym was small but has a good range of machines. And we certainly were very glad to have a guest laundry room, though the one drawback is you need to pay through a separate App, and a minimum holding-charge of $10 has to be placed on it, which is a drag if you only need to do one load of laundry. And then there's the pool and hot tub, which we especially enjoyed and visited every day, again with some patio space overlooking the river. Next, a word about location, as that is one of the biggest plusses this hotel has going for it. It is within easy walking distance of many downtown attractions like the casinos, the ballpark, brewery district, museums, and places to eat. For instance, an excellent bar and restaurant is located right next door in the ground level of the building which serves as the hotel's parking garage. The garage itself has ample spaces, though not really any we could see marked out for hotel guests specifically, so I can imagine during game days this can get kind of packed. The only other couple downsides for location are that there seem to always be lots of homeless folks hanging around, and the bright stadium lights shine directly into some of the rooms at night, which is not a huge problem since you can just draw the curtains. Lastly, as far as price went, we found it to be a fairly good deal, costing around $175 per night once all taxes and fees are considered. Bargain-hunters that we are, we will certainly not call this a cheap or budget place to crash. However, at the end of our stay we felt quite pleased, and would say it is definitely worth the extra bit of money to land someplace pleasant, quiet, with a lot of fringe benefits. The strengths of the good service, good style, and amenities all make us happy to have found this spot. Very solid 4-Star rating, and we will keep it on our shot list when next we look for a place downtown. Thanks for the great time! read more

Reno doesn't exactly have a vast selection of luxury or high-end business hotels. I chose this Courtyard because of its location, I hadn't been in Reno for about six years, so I was unsure which area would be best to stay. I decided to pick a central location, so I could potentially walk around a little bit. When I travel, I like to have the ability to get out and walk. The location along the Truckee River is excellent. Even though I was here in the dead of winter when it was cold with snow and ice on the ground, it was still charming to enjoy a little bit of time on the lobby patio along the snowy banks of the Truckee doing calls and drinking coffee. The area is walkable, and I felt reasonably safe. The room was Courtyard's typical configuration and furnishings. My room faced Ballpark Lane and the office and parking tower. Check-in was easy. The desk person was friendly and helpful. The parking garage is across the street, and access is easy, but it is creepy at night. I don't know how safe it is. This is a good hotel if you want walkability and a central location. At the end of the day, this is an excellent business hotel; it checks all the boxes, and it's clean and convenient. read more

Stayed here for a night for business. The hotel looks nice, but the room was small, and I had no window views because my window was facing the inside of the building where the hallways were. So anyone walking by could see inside my room. I had to keep the curtains closed at all times for privacy. It's also a little freaky to be boxed in like that. In the morning, i was woken up by a strong smell of marijuana which lasted about 2 hrs. I was sick to my stomach and became nauceous. The parking is across the street, and the parking garage was creepy. Needless to say, I will not be staying here if i have to travel to this state again. read more

I'm giving this place 3 stars primarily b/c the staff were nice and the room was ok. Next up...the Bistro was out of foods I happened to want, food server used bared hands to handle my croissant (yuck!), weights were missing from the "gym", and no welcome gift. Get it together Marriott and start putting some money into your plethora of properties...otherwise, gonna have to move on, Platinum or not. read more

Before the world shut down, I took a little trip to Reno, NV. for a wedding. We ended up staying here because it was centrally located to all the weekend's event. And if we ever come back, I'd gladly stay here again. This hotel seems to have undergone a massive renovation within the past few years and it makes a huge difference. The rooms and lobby feel more upscale and modern when compared to other hotels around the same price. Little touches like the bistro/restaurant area having TVs in the booth is a super nice touch, especially with a kid (and thank you Marriot for having that Disney Jr. subscription.) And speaking of the "restaurant" here- yes, it's very small. And yes it's overpriced. But I didn't mind paying extra for the convenience of not having to leave while it was dumping snow. And I liked our breakfast. Parking isn't the easiest, but it's not a deterrent either. You have to park in a structure that's shared with an office complex. It takes a bit longer to get to your car opposed to just walking out to a lot, but it seemed safe and there were plenty of spaces available. Only real issue was there was only one operational elevator and it took forever. Yes, like anywhere else, there are stairs, but not only were they located at the opposite end of the hotel, but they were insanely hot inside. Like sauna level make you feel nauseous hot. And since we were on the top floor, that climb wasn't happening twice! But good times had by all and the people who worked there were pretty friendly so, if we're back in the area, we'll stay here again. read more

From Abby at the front desk to Bryan who helped with parking our oversized vehicle, we had a great experience. I was able to score a room upgrade as a Marriott Bonvoy Elite which was nice but the view was of the parking garage. Oh well, we were there to eat, sleep and get back on the road. The room air conditioning was working overtime and did a great job cooling our king suite. The shower put out nice volume and hot water. One ding: Jose during breakfast. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and a breakfast burrito. He had gloves on, took our cash and gave us change. Then.... you guessed it. Went back to making food without changing gloves. When I dropped in for coffee earlier, there was a cashier and she handled the $$ but when he was solo, it was a different story. Its an easy fix but one to be aware of. The three star application is justly earned, I believe. Here are my reasons: 1. Very limited food hours (Pandemic is the reason but the market place was disappointing, too). 2. The Welcome Gift for members was a chocolate bar. Disappointing. 3. They charge for parking in a free parking lot! Grant it is only $5.00 per night but that's ridiculous! 4. Construction: I can't entirely fault the hotel on this one, save that I wasn't warned. Instead I was told "You have a lovely view of the river!" Could I see the river? Yes. But beyond that was a whole lot of construction! Lovely? No. There were other challenges (Which I reported and was given 10K points) but overall I was disappointed. read more
