This place is huge--probably the largest number of vendors I've seen in an antique mall. There's a nice, wide variety of items and styles, from housewares to furniture, with a few unexpected clothing racks thrown in. Some vendors are very reasonably priced, while others are definitely on the higher side, so it's a bit of a mixed bag. The real highlight was the staff--everyone was super friendly and helpful, especially Laura. Definitely worth a visit. read more

We had a great time here! This is a really big store with a gazillion booths, each containing delightful items of interest. We found some real antiques, some collectibles, lots of vintage, but we spent several hours here because they were so much we really enjoyed seeing. Loads of books, great, art, fun, vintage clothing. Staff was friendly and helpful and the music was low-key enough to wear. It wasn't killing our eardrums. We will definitely be coming back.. read more

Definitely NOT a dirty antique mall! Definitely NOT high prices! I'm disgusted that someone angry about a mask policy would defame a small business owner & all those who have booths within this business. Smh. This mall occupies 20,000 square feet. Currently, there are 55 vendors. Two separate antique auctions are held monthly-- one w/ high end merchandise & one w/ lower end (says co-owner Ed). To view auction photos, check out www.auctionsbyadkins.com. (Sat, Dec 19 @ 2 PM is the next auction.) This antique mall is just off I-75 @ the Micanopy exit. Years ago it was named Smiley's. After a lighting strike, it burned down (many years ago). Most vendors sadly lost everything! The building was repaired & sold. Antique City Mall emerged. I antique all over the state w/ two experienced former antique dealers-- one in glassware (& the like) & the other in fabrics, furniture, & jewelry. We have shopped this mall together multiple times (just not today). The prices here are REASONABLE! Actually quite impressive when compared to other malls across the state, but especially in this area of Florida. Yes, the owners (husband & wife) do not wear masks. Some customers wear masks. Others do not. If you're that worried about Covid, make a choice to not shop here. But do NOT lie about a business that supports not only 55 vendor families, but whose owners perform excellent charity work for children's causes. Currently, the ginormous green Hulk (see pic) is being auctioned off w/ 100% of the proceeds going to charity. And if the 5-man Ironman set (see pic) doesn't sell for $10,000, it too will be sold to benefit a children's charity-- in February 2021. At this mall, you'll find a HUGE booth of Star Wars memorabilia-- a really nice variety! Currently, this business offers limited antique furniture, including mid-century. (However, inventory changes often.) There is a Matchbox car booth, a Walking Dead booth, a war memorabilia booth, lots of vintage home decor items including framed paintings, vintage brooches, & other jewelry. There's an interesting primitive tool booth, a vintage sporting booth, linens, lights, wet bars & accessories, cookware, glassware, knives, & just about anything you can imagine...including my favorite: Steampunk clocks, lights & other creations (see pics). I bought myself a $60 Christmas gift:-) Will definitely continue to stop in whenever in the area. After you leave here, be sure to hit the smaller vintage shops in tree-lined downtown Micanopy. My family and I frequently visit our local antique store and we generally have a good experience at most of them. This antique store has a decent selection however I noticed that some of the vendors have seemingly intentionally deceptive tags on some of their items. Most of the vendors have ok prices but some are very overpriced but that is expected. While we were shopping we needed a a beverage, so we went to their refrigerator and we grabbed some drinks. We asked one of the employees if they would like us to pay for the drinks now or when we check out. The employe said while laughing, "it's ok we'll probably just forget to charge you" so we assumed that we would pay for them when we went to check out because he was joking about it and laughing. He then watched us walk away and said nothing else. About 5 minutes later another employee started complaining that we didn't pay for the drinks and that "my son is very shaken up that you guys didn't pay for your drinks" so we just payed for the drinks then. About another 5 minutes later the same person passed by multiple people and asked us, and only us, "do we need to take anything upfront for you?" And when we said no they insisted. So because we didn't think we needed to pay for our drinks at that moment because the employee was joking around with us saying "it's ok" we were being suspected of theft. I'm not extremely thrilled about the nature of the situation. If there were anything in their store that I were to steal, it would be their Bluetooth speaker that played a plethora of terrible music so I could save my ears from those abhorrent sounds. read more

My first visit to this mall and I was very impressed. I couldn't get over how clean and organized everything was. There was also a wide selection of pieces from various time periods from Victorian to Mid-Century. I couldn't get over the booth with all of the incredible vintage planters! This store allowed many customers in without masks and were not wearing them themselves. Customers were walking right by me uncovered. This store is also dirty and overpriced, but that is not my main complaint. read more

There is no doubt that if I walked in, purchased an item, and took it home I would write a wonderful review. Yes, I did just that. I left with a wonderful feeling about this business. (No different then with the previous owners; thirty years I have been a customer there) Had no doubt about the experience, conversation, and agreement with the owner. However, in addition, I experienced another side that the average customer would not experience. I found a piece I just loved. I wanted to take it with me but could not. No room in the vehicle! Three kids, dog, my husband and myself. The owner had no problem rolling out the red carpet. "We can hold it for you", said the owner. I told her that could not be possible. I had only two times in the future I could pick it up; Christmas and Spring Break. She said they had room in the back and would work with me if I would pay it in full. (That should have been my red flag; however, this would waive my 45 day pick up requirement; which unaware by me apparently changed to 30 days.) I was hesitant. It wasn't because of her kindness and apparent sincerity. It was because I was at the early stage in a cancer diagnosis. I just had surgery and the anesthesia was still clouding my thinking. She continued to push the issue. I told her my biggest concern was if I couldn't get there by Christmas then it would have to be Spring Break. I felt that was way too long. "Oh! That will not be a problem, she said. "We have plenty of room in the back." Well, I went with her invitation and paid in full for the furniture. Big Mistake. My son was reading everything with me. He knew what paperwork we read and signed and the receipt. I was only given a paper with general information on it. She had quickly copied the form and apologized that it wasnt filled out completely. I put in my name and phone number. Then she wanted my email. I told her that I never looked at my emails. I barely have enough time to keep up with my school emails; for I am a teacher. I told her the best way to contact me was through texting. They said they could do that. I knew I should not have agreed to this. I left with one of the two items I bought. I could not get to the antique store by Chrustmas but I was there the very first day of our Spring Break. The bottom line.....they confiscated my furniture. They gave me four copies of paperwork which 1.5 pieces I recognized and the rest I did not. They only had given me one on the day I paid for it. The owner wrote in the Christmas date but not the Spring Break date. They were very defensive, rude, and would not give me the answers to the questions I asked. I had to call 5 different times to get an answer to each question I asked before they would hang up on me. I told them I was not upset just wanting answers to why? This is what I walked away with. They treated me as a traveling buyer. They thought and think because I travel then they can get away with it. Also, those that walk in, buy, and leave will only experience the wonderful experience. Thank God I took the smaller piece with me. That was by chance because they didnt hand that to me.....I had to remind them. Please be aware. Make sure you get a copy of everything you sign. My paperwork changed. My son witnessed the entire transaction. He said, Mom there was nothing else on the paper you filled out." If it happened to me it can happen to you. Please be aware. Please note: This is my truthful story. I never experienced owners to be so hateful, hang up on conversations, and knowingly resale prepaid antiques. I stood by our original agreement and tried to PU the item the first day of Spring Break. Please be careful on paperwork. You find that not only does it change but is added to. read more

Good collection of dealers, the folks were very helpful. We particularly enjoyed several very unique items, one being the GE outdoor grill, stove and oven on wheels, quite something. I usually always drop in when I am heading to Gainesville area, Neat clean and organized place with an occasional find. However today my visit was marred by the fact that a least half of the customers did not have masks on , despite Alachua county ordinance.In fact a person behind the counter had no mask on either. Every thrift store and antique spot I have been to in Central Fla has a robust mask policy as do most all businesses. Its a courtesy to customers and employees alike, and common sense. I just didn't feel safe shopping there and unfortunately wont return. read more

My friend and I took our first trip here yesterday, and we will definitely be back again! We spent a few hours browsing and probably didn't see half of the items on display. There is so much to explore here! I like that the items are all set up in vendor booths, so there is a wide range of collections. We had a blast just looking at all the cool trinkets from decades ago. But what really made our visit pleasant was the friendly, welcoming staff. I am new to Yelp, but made it a point to come tell the entire staff how friendly and accommodating they are. Me and my family came in tired and looking for some air conditioning, and left with a smile and lots of goodies. This is not only a mall, but a family friendly attraction. Difficult to rate as this Smiley's replacement is just getting its feet wet. New vendors are joining weekly! The every-other-Saturday auctions start in February 2018-- see pic. Manager Oliver, familiar w/ Yelp & extremely personable, was kind enough to speak w/ me in depth. The "green" building itself is impressive w/ its fire retardant material that lines the walls, it's new flooring, along w/ all the electrical & plumbing upgrades. Staff was very friendly & helpful---- extremely nice. There were a couple of vendors on site (one appeared to be moving in) & many more are expected as word spreads that this antique mall has now opened for business where the previous Smiley's resided (& burned down). The size & shape of the new structure (along w/ the previous section that suffered from only smoke damage) are great-- wide aisles & high ceilings. There are three clean bathrooms ready for your use. At present, the mall is lacking a wide variety of genres & decades, but as vendors join that could (& probably will) change. Prices varied-- some reasonable & some higher than they should be. Be sure to ask for a discount once you're ready to check out: 10 - 20%. (There are no veterans or seniors discount, at least not yet.) However, layaway is available. Plenty of parking in front. Staff will help you load. This mall is easy off (& easy on) I-75-- Exit 374. An "Amazon for Antiques" webpage is under construction, says Oliver. No word yet when it will be up & running, but online ordering will be a definite perk. read more
