And at night there is so little light pollution you can see all the stars. Very pretty! The room we stayed in (Forest Glen) is cozy and pretty basic, but it did its job well. The bed was comfortable, and the fan and air conditioning were easy to control so we could sleep comfortably. The shower works very well with good pressure and heat. There is a small TV if you feel like watching anything, but definitely enjoy the area instead! The Vermont Inn has a bar inside that closes at 9pm. We didn't try it, but it looked so nice and cozy. If you purchase directly through the website, then breakfast is included each morning. Every day they offer pancakes, french toast, or eggs and bacon, and then there is a daily special omelette. We tried omelettes, french toast, and pancakes, and all were quite good. And the coffee is surprisingly tasty. It appears to be a family operation with the kids taking orders. They are cute and do a great job! Definitely a great place to stay if you're in the Killington area!

There are many cozy public rooms to sit, play board games, read or just talk. The hosts Mike and Kayla were very friendly and accomodating. The location is perfect as it is minutes away from Killington and Pico mountains. The views from the lawn of the mountains are stunning. Rooms were excellent and there was plenty of space. There is a Sauna and pool outside during the summer months. We met a couple that were staying there and planning their wedding with the hosts and it sounded like it was going to be fantastic. They also host bridal showers and other events. The breakfasts were fantastic and our waiters Emerson and Jameson provided excellent service. Thanks to Mike, Kayla and family for great memories. I would highly recommend The Vermont Inn and we will definitely be back.

The only place where the humans get treated as well as the dogs (and that's saying a lot)…read more Usually, "dog-friendly" means you have to compromise on the human experience. At The Paw House Inn, you don't choose--you get the best of both worlds. My partner and I came up for a ski trip to Killington, and honestly, the service we received rivaled any luxury hotel we've stayed at, while Taco (our dog) got treated like royalty. Service for the Whole Pack: Mitch and Jeff are the dream team. Mitch's communication was flawless--he navigated us through some iffy weather on arrival day and acted as a top-tier concierge for the rest of the trip. He didn't just point us to a map; he gave us a locals-only tip for a public golf course that allows cross-country skiing. It was the highlight of our trip--fresh tracks for us, and off-leash freedom for Taco. Jeff, meanwhile, made us feel incredibly welcome (and made Taco his best friend with his lightning-fast treat distribution). It's rare to find hosts who care just as much about the quality of the human's dinner (sending us to Sweet Caroline's and Roots--both huge hits) as they do about the dog's happiness. The Stay: Breakfast was delicious every morning, but the real highlight was that Taco could sit right there with us. It was a lovely reminder of home--he never leaves our side until breakfast is over, and being able to keep that routine here made the trip feel incredibly special. The boarding facility is pristine, warm, and secure. We got video updates of Taco playing with his new friends (shoutout to Diggins, Blu, and Percy!) while we were skiing Killington, which let us actually relax and enjoy the slopes. The Verdict: If you want a vacation where you feel pampered and your dog has the time of his life, this is it. We're already planning our return.

They were so engaging and made us feel welcome right from the get-go -- especially Diggins! The Inn itself is a cozy historic home, with beautiful grounds, in a prime location. The rooms are warm, inviting, and pristinely clean. The facilities cater to every dog's dream from fun games, play areas, beds, and treats. Not only that, we were provided with an excellent itinerary of all the surrounding local gems, from delicious restaurants, vibrant farms and breweries, to friendly, locally owned shops. All this surrounded by the stunning beauty of Vermont. I can't wait to come back to unwind.

As long as you understand that this isn't a luxury resort, I'm SURE you'll be more than happy staying over at the Killington-Pico Motor Inn. Ski trips (particularly the lift tickets) are expensive, and when coming here with friends ever since college, all we ever really need are just a few comfy beds for the end of our wild Killington nights. Add to that the complimentary hot/cold breakfast, year-round hot tub, and the awesome family that runs this hotel, and you've got the perfect "best kept secret" that Lynda M. describes. Rooms are kept clean, owners know me by name even though I'm far from a "frequent flyer" here, and the other guests are always fun to chat with in the cozy hotel lobby / living room area. A couple notes on mass transit for those that plan to rely on "The Bus" (the Killington region bus system). Morning buses en route to Killington pick up outside this hotel's entrance at 30 minutes past the hour (as of this writing) on the "Diamond Express" (Rutland-Killington) line. Check here for schedules: http://www.thebus.com/routes/rkc.htm. Evening buses are pretty much the same deal - just make sure you get on the Diamond Express, as the other bus just goes back and forth on the access road.

While it was a bit expensive for what you get (a little over $120ish), I really liked the cleanliness of the room. The bed sheets were cleaned. No questionable, weird looking stains anywhere to be found. The water was extremely hot, the heater worked very well (took a while to heat up the room) and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. I also liked how the room was set up. There was a lot of room and coat racks/hooks for all of your snow gear. The owner was also extremely friendly and was always very polite and smiling.
