My husband and I wanted a relaxing and peaceful place to stay while enjoying the great Adirondacks and Lake Champlain. After calling this bed and breakfast for information, I could tell that the owners took their jobs seriously and were willing to accommodate. We wanted to book a room in early to mid August and were calling at the end of July...not only did they find us a room, it was their affordable Lakeview suite for the same days we wanted. They asked us for food preferences and needs. We arrived to this bed and breakfast late at night due to traffic issues on our travels. Despite the hour, Innkeeper Joe waited up and not only welcomed us personally but also carried our luggage to our room. The house is gorgeous inside and out, classic Victorian home with country chic flare. Our room was not a disappointment either. Spacious seating area in the suite, sink station as well a full bathroom and a comfy queen sized bed. Everything you would need was provided, plenty of clean pillows, fresh towels, chilled water bottles, soaps and more. The decor of our room was exquisite and homey. The suite overlooked Lake Champlain and surrounding majestic mountains, it was breathtaking. The shower strength is strong and the hot water was never ending. Now onto breakfast...delicious! Every breakfast began with a freshly made scone, your choice of hot beverage and an array of juice options. Now on the actual breakfast entree course...better quality food than most brunch spots. The first day, Nancy made this scrumptious "ham tower" which reminded me of a gourmet quality quiche with a half plate of towering fresh fruit. Second day she made a maple syrup cream cheese stuffed fresh toast, again with a pile of fresh fruit. Third day she made this really creative and delicious blueberry granola like bread with cream on top....so hearty and delicious. The food alone was very accommodating and uniquely prepared, never a disappointment. The breakfast was served in their beautiful formal dining room that had plenty of room for comfort. Over all, the innkeepers Jor and Nancy were endless in their efforts to provide brochures and recommendations. Their gracious approach in making us feel welcome worked and it was as though we were at home in their beautiful place. Additionally, they are close by to dozens of food options which they provided maps to find. A town very close by had more restaurants than I can count on my hands, all nearby the scenic lakes and mountains. While there, we enjoyed the best smelling bbq and delicious steaks. Everything is very easy to find. We were able to go fishing where the locals go to fish just minutes from the bed and breakfast. Nancy and Joe also suggested a gorgeous beach also just minutes from their home, it was quite enjoyable. Also there is fresh ice cream and delicious burgers nearby the B&B, well worth finding! The surrounding areas and towns did not disappoint and were very accessible. The country life is your oyster in that neck of the woods. Definitely going back! read more
