I stayed there a few years ago. They did not have a room ready despite my having made a reservation. Finally put in a room with no TV and mouse trap in the corner. Despite advertising a pool and included breakfast, they had neither. Not even any complimentary coffee. Avoid this place at all costs. R.A.T.S - Rarely Advised To Stay - Consider hiring Tom the cat, because we certainly have a Jerry problem. Woke up to a rat gnawing at one of our bags. We left immediately (two days early). This hotel doesn't provide refunds or conduct administrative related work on the weekends. Nice to know how Quality Inn manages their establishment. Only giving a one star because I cannot give a minus one, or more, rating.. We traveled from out of state here, and wish we had stayed home. The hotel and rooms are not at all what were depicted on their reservation site. Reserved a double queen suite for a girls week, and arrived to a king room. When we talked to the person at the front, we found out that they don't have suites as they are in the midst of a renovation. So they put us in a double queen room and adjusted our bill and credited back our credit card. At checkout, they added back on rates to be almost where they started... The rooms themselves are less than apealing.. the beds were comfortable. The tub was painted and the paint is pealing off. Security is a joke here. Almost all of their outside doors open without a swipe card. Anyone can walk in off the street. The hotel itself is in a questionable area. The owner owns all the hotels in the area, so not likely any of them are any better. If this is how Quality Inn runs their chains, I will NEVER stay there again. Makes me question the integrity of the whole choice chain. The only good thing about this place is Jay, and the cleaning staff. They were polite and courteous every time I encountered them. Do yourself a favor, and travel to a different hotel! read more

A terrible stay! Room wasn't ready at 4 pm (2 hrs after check in), room had new furniture but you could tell it was set up (?) in haste, and the toilet didn't flush. After 2 hours trying to repair it we were given the only other room available which had a broken security lock--door was taped up and a simple door knob lock was what was being used. But, at 10pm and traveling with an 86 yo mother what can you do except stay and get out of there as quickly as possible in the morning. Trash was overflowing in all common areas and staff were aware. No one should be staying here during this renovation and I question any new management who is making these kind of choices. read more

Where to start... Please avoid... I think this has become a halfway house or something. People outside on the first floor with big grills -- really? Claims no smoking, but walk into the entrance where the stairs are and hit with the smell. Get to your room - it smells. Use bathroom and roach runs across the floor - got that one! Next morning, another roach made it to the crack in the door so couldn't get it. Hard to sleep with the smell and thoughts of what might be wandering around at night. Handed in room key next morning (1 night stay) and clerk was smart enough to NOT ask "everything ok"? They know... Got home; ALL clothes in the wash, shower... Just plain nasty. Crossed Choice Hotel chain off my list for future stays world-wide. Pay a little more and be safe. Surprisingly - no survey received in the email from them and ZERO way to leave them feedback on their website... read more

I recently stayed here for a ski trip. Plus points are the place is very affordable and there is free breakfast and the staff is kind. My biggest concern was that is wasn't the clean. Unfortunately, I have to leave this review in order to possibly provoke change. I booked at this hotel by recommendation of my mother. The staff was friendly in the beginning. Got to view the room before payment. However, after about 45 minutes in the room, a mouse ran across the floor - twice. I was horrified. So horrified I ran to the front desk without shoes on. The front desk person's response: "Do you want to change rooms and I can put mouse traps in that room?" I replied: "How about checking out?" And I left as quickly as I could, heart thumping along the way. read more

This used to be a pretty nice place. But now it's just nasty. From grey towels, to mold in the broken cracks of the tub, this place needs a massive overhaul. The television didn't have a clear picture, but rather a mushy haze. I thought someone dropped some acid in my soda. The beds were comfortable enough. The breakfast was a nice gesture, but is over by nine o'clock. A little early for my liking. The location is great. After three stays this summer, each stay progressively worse, this will have to be the last. read more

Our room was obviously recently renovated. . New paint, carpeting, vinyl flooring and furniture . The bed and linens were new and very comfortable. All other amenities were either missing or didn't work.. I understand about the lack of a breakfast buffet during the pandemic however there was only one boxed breakfast and no coffee. The room had a single cup coffee maker that didn't work. The ice maker was not working and the entrance door near our would not open with our key. The front desk person knew of the deficits and apologized but did not mention a price adjustment. Think twice before booking a room here. read more

For a pleasant stay, stay somewhere else. We booked two nights and only stayed one since we had already checked in and took a nap from having a long drive to get here. Honestly the bed was good other that, let's just say the door to the bathroom the veneer on the door to the bathroom was half pulled off, the heater was a $80 space heater plugged into the wall and placed in the center of the room (was wondering what it was for when we got into the room, thought it was an odd place for a fan). Back to the bathroom the arched shower rod was arched vertically so I could see my fiancé while I took a shower which was a nice touch, and the wobbly toilet bowl was great it made using the toilet so much more interesting. Needless to say if your just looking for literally a bed to lay your head for a couple hours your good to go. read more

We booked 3 nights at this hotel and we did realize it was on the dirtier end. However the second night I saw a mouse run across the room. Front desk gave me two options- either stay in the room with the mouse or get out of there with a refund which we ended up doing. I just had surgery 3 days ago and am on bed rest, so it was seriously annoying finding another place and packing all our stuff to go to another hotel. Our friends ended up finding mice dropping the nex day on their desk, so our other two rooms are checking out as well. Had to end up paying an extra $180 for another hotel.. so yea. Not happy. They didn't give us a discount for our first night... nothing. Just refunded us the next two nights read more

Well after the death of yet ANOTHER person I certainly will let everyone know exactly what needs to happen to the Non Quality Inn.IT NEEDS TO GET SHUT DOWN AND THE OWNERS FINED !AS WELL AS JAIL TIME ! IT was the 2nd death at the hotel.BOTH might have ended differently if the owners cared at all for anything besides the money! The guy,probably part owner if not at least relative of owner who works the front desk in the evening REFUSED TO CALL 911 !!! Twice !!! Numerous people came to the front desk pleading for him to call 911 and all he said was use the room phone mop UNBELIEVABLE!! Problem was THE ROOM PHONES DONT WORK! as he well knew! Maybe if he gave one ounce of humanity 2 people would still be alive..Refusing to call 911 is unheard of to me,a life gone in part because of this so called man with no soul, but if it was his BMW that got a scratch...911, I guarantee would of been his 1st action.It sickens me! These owners also own Holiday Inn and all the other run down motels and hotels in Rutlimand. They all are run down with so many hazardous issues I Really dont believe they are allowed to remain open. read more

There's nothing "quality" about this establishment. This must be an independently owned QI because it's the worst I've seen. They have signs posted about a strict NO SMOKING policy, but it seems no one around here can read. The carpeting out in the hallway has probably never been vacuumed. The walls are paper thin - every conversation, every snore, every turn of a lock or close of a door can be heard. There are water stains in the ceiling. The toilet seat is chipped and peeling. On the upside, my sheets appeared clean, the Wi-Fi works better than what I expected, the water runs, I have a door, lights work. You get the point. Nothing exceptional here. I'd have given 0 stars if it were an option. Don't waste your money here. read more

I'll start at the beginning. We got to the hotel, the lady at the front gave us a room key, and we went to the room. There was somebody in the room! She gave us someone else's room and in the process deactivated their keys. We went back to the front the front desk, and the lady was very rude. She just said that this kind of thing happens and that it isn't a big deal... but it is. Somebody could steal your things, or we could have walked in on people... doing things. When we tried to explain this the lady just rolled her eyes and said that we didn't have to stay there if we didn't want to. Seriously? What kind of customer service is that? The room wasn't that great, and the pool was not heated well. Overall not a great experience, and at least now I know to book a different hotel way ahead of time because this was not our first choice, but everything else was booked solid. read more

If I had an option for NO stars, this place would get it. Filthy, unfriendly and unresponsive staff/owners. Thankfully able to transfer to the Hampton (5*) where we found out from some locals about both the quality inns bedbug problems, and rental of many units for subsidized housing. If you can't get into the Hampton, try mountain view inn or head out of town. read more

Wifi is almost none existent, takes forever to load page. Room was fairly clean, hotel is old, tv didn't have all the channels they claimed it had, free coffee nope all 3 pots empty every time I went for some. Next time I'm in area, will look for better place to stay read more

If you look at some of my other reviews of places I have stayed in Rutland you may be scratching your heads. The Quality Inn is no worse than the Val Roc but I rated it much lower. I didn't have the bad experience the reviewers on Trip Adviser had, but I had much higher expectations for a Quality Inn . It could have been the nail holes in the wall paper, the rusty bathroom fixtures, or the "way past it's prime" carpet" but I would have stayed at the a fore mentioned hotel if I had known what this was going to be like. read more

I rated one because the whole entire room smelled like pee that hasn't been cleaned in years like a uncleaned public bathroom!!! The bathroom especially smelled like the pee. Then the people that tidy up the rooms didn't even knock before they just decided to walk in. Thank God I wasn't getting dressed or doing other personal things. Bed was nice and comfy TV was a nice size but when I wanted to watch my favorite show the food network, there was no sound!! I probably wouldn't go back there. Stayed only one night and the hotel has plenty to work on. I was checking after midnight and the clerk was on the phone with a customer who was pranking him. The clerk keep answering the phone and kept talking to the drunk customer. I guess that's why I got assigned a room where there was already someone. The second room I got assigned did not have a key pad, but a regular key ( I assume it was either storage or empl room) and by the time I got to my 3rd room that night it was almost 1.30am. The third room need serious update. Would not stay again and would not recommend to others. read more

Cost cannot be beat for a room. the Hotel was remodeled not long ago and is in awsome shape now. Service was excellent and the rooms and halls are clean. Breakfast was lacking some mornings as they ran out of things. feels like these people never restock what they run out of as they let the soda machine run empty and did not refill it for the three days I was here. as far as the Front desk goes it was hit or miss sometimes late at night if you needed something but for the most part was ok. Housekeeping has no manners though as they try to barge into the room without knocking which was my biggest complaint. all in all I would stay here again as I really had little problems with the place. read more

This place is horrendous. Roach central, nasty beds, looked in them and found 4 bed bugs, dirty towels, mold in the showers, disgusting pool, housekeepers have no manners, service sucked. Quality is missing from the Quality Inn. Unsafe situation and poor customer service almost ruined our weekend getaway. I usually book the Holiday Inn (great hotel in this area) but it was booked solid. So I put my key in the door and someone else was in my room by herself. It is a good thing that I mean no harm to anyone. This is an unsafe situation that should never happen. So I went to the front desk and told Kristen about our problem. She was very rude to me, and said, "it happens" no apology, eye rolls, "you do not like it, you can leave". We live far away and all hotels booked in this area. I had kids with me, so I had to keep my conversation with them in mind. The property is worn out and needs an update but more importantly they need to more concerned with how they manage their bookings with safety in mind. Kristen needs to be spoken to about proper customer service, maybe have the people at Holiday Inn show her how it is done correctly. read more

Absolutely the WORST hotel I have EVER stayed in. We were there to go skiing at Killington. The first room we went in had glue traps for mice - inhumane and disgusting. The refrigerator made a high-pitched whistling sound. The heater sounded like a jet engine. We were given another room. This room looked somewhat better. However the clientele of this hotel is somewhat questionable as evidenced by 2 police cars being parked outside last night and entering a room and multiple sketchy women present in the hallways. During the night, the walls were so thin that we could hear someone urinating in the middle of the night. Finally, we woke up this morning to find the bread we had brought in order to make sandwiches with our leftover Christmas roast ransacked by mice with mouse droppings everywhere. This place needs to be shut down by the board of health. The Wi-Fi did not work in our room. That being said, the staff was very nice and apologetic, clearly aware there is a problem. read more

I stayed here twice, the first time, I was not impressed but it appeared clean. The second trip the common areas, except for the spiffy lobby, we're dingy and looked uncared for. The security doors didn't lock and people from across the parking area had free access to the hotel. Also they seem to have difficulty operating their laundry as the towels we're varrying shades of grey. read more

This is the worst hotel experience of my life...and I've traveled a great deal in my 65 years. To begin with, the hallway had a repulsive smell. Our room smelled a little better, but nothing looked or felt clean. Had we been able to find another room in the immediate area, we would have left. Cleanliness is the most important thing to me in a hotel room. Even aged hotels can be clean and upgraded. This one was not. It was adequate. Needed a place to sleep and shower, so it was OK for just that. They are updating which is needed. Bed wasn't too bad. TV worked except ESPN had no sound. No working fan in bathroom. Bathroom door delaminating. Walls were thin - luckily neighbors were quiet! Didn't try the breakfast. I've been in much worse places. This Hotel is disgusting! After booking the hotel to avoid a snow storm i was mortified. The Hotel smelled awful from the start. When i entered the bathroom in my room, it had been used and not flushed. There was hair in the bed, shower and on the floor. When i spoke to the night manager there was no apology. Only "you get a refund". Which i have yet to see. Be aware when you stay here. It is dirty, the staff is rude and just didn't care. read more

from what im reading looks like they have updated nicely, we stayed 3 nights 4 days, the bed was a king super nice and comfy it was definitely a new bed, carpet looked new, nice crown molding, looks like they recently replaced new ac/heating units, worked well, the bathroom was nice looked like the recently updated everything, there was granite walls in our shower very nice, breakfest was good, at first after checking in we were impressed from the front looked nice, but when we walked in the side of the building to get to our room we noticed some ceiling shingles were missing some had water damaged so we were afraid to find out how the room was but it turned out very nice on our last night coming back from skiing all day we noticed a bunch of fire trucks speeding down the road as we were pulling in we noticed they came to the quality inn, we were freaked a little thinking the building was burning down, turned out a pipe bursted and there was a partial flood where the pipe was located, we walked in our rooms to get ready for a shower so we could go out for dinner and there was no running water we waited an hour and the water was still not running, so we ended up just going out to dinner we came back from dinner and probably waited another half hour because they had found another leak, got to take a shower around 10 30pm after letting all the iron run our of the water lines first, overall how updated the room was saved our experience, would probably go back looks like they have done a lot of renovating and i'm sure will continue to do so read more
