I was interested in buying something that was quite expensive, after seeing it about a week ago in the store. I called today to asked if it was still there and offered a good price on it. She called the person who owned the item and told me he accepted my price. I told the person at the store that I will be in tomorrow to buy it and to pick it up. So instead of holding it for me, she called me about a hour later & told me she sold it to someone else for a higher price. This was suppose to be birthday gift for my twin. I'm really pissed off. I have bought other things from this antique store in the past. If that is the way they are going to do business, I will not be going back to that store again. I feel like they were just holding out for a higher price, it's a rip off. read more

Selection of this is out of this world booths seem to never end bought a beautiful 22k gold glass dragon today for the counter lady to snap the foot off while double wrapping it I got home noticed it broken and gave them a call right Away and told me to bring it in so I did I walk in and she's jumping down my throat saying it wasn't her who broke it the wrapping was perfect and that it was in perfect condition before it left the store thank you for giving me my money back but the backhanded comments weren't needed I come into you're store a lot and pretty much furnished my entire apartment from here do better it'll be a very long time before I come back here thank you .... Antiques on Elm is the place to be next time you are in Manchester New Hampshire. With thousands of feet of space filled with antique treasures you should be able to find something, anything. I walked in not needing anything, wanting something sure but need not. While walking up and down and all around I quickly needed to have a few treasures that I found. This shop has many many great items. Obviously inventory changes but this shop was packed but not in a messy way. Each booth showcased many items that I had to spend minutes carefully looking at each item to make sure I didn't miss the smallest trinket. I was visiting from not close by and unfortunately was only able to purchase a few small items. If I had the time I would have shipped many items home but unfortunately time didn't allow as hours had passed since entering the vintage smelling shop. I'll make it a point to come back to spend hours again searching for great items that I know you have. read more

I just love this place! Have gone here for years when we've been in the area and we always leave with something. I think what I like is that they've got a nice variety and there is plenty of room and junk to poke around in. Like anywhere else around here, sometimes prices can be inflated but I feel like you don't get actual crap here and you get what you pay for. I have a large collection of Pyrex and always like to visit to see what's hiding here in the corners for FireKing and Pyrex because I can usually find something I like for what I'm willing to pay (which isn't much! I like to use my Pyrex so I don't buy many of the higher end pieces). Last week my sister got a pristine mid century Formica and chrome kitchen/bistro table with a leaf and four chairs for $155. I mean... I've seen people say on here that prices are high but since these are all dealer booths it really depends on who the dealer is and there are SO MANY good deals here. It is nothing like the jacked up prices you find at the stores in antique-heavy towns in Maine or northern NH. My only real complaint is the one booth with the Nazi/SS/WWII vintage memorabilia. I know people collect it for historical and not necessarily nefarious reasons but it still gives me the skeeves. As for the rest of the place and alllll the other wonderful vendors, I can't get enough of it and I certainly don't let myself come visit too often or else I'd be spending more than I should on vintage. read more

Totally a shot in the dark on whether you can get something without over spending or whether there is anything worth getting at all. With that said so so many options that you should be able to find something. Prices were a bit high. Yeah they were. I would return to check out again but I would not go out of my way to come here. I really liked the specialty booths- need more of them. I saw a blip somewhere about a new antique group shop on lower Elm Street(across from the new Market Basket), and being an antiques junkie, I had to check it out. I went one afternoon recently when in the area. It's a big, clean, well laid out operation with nice carpeting to walk on. As a group shop, it's divided into different stalls that people rent. There's an excellent mix of different things, and the prices seemed reasonable. I had a quick chat with three people that were working there - Tom, Kim, and Anita. After I had strolled through the place, Tom asked if I was looking for anything special, which I appreciated. They were quite friendly and not overbearing. This is a large, multi-dealer shop with a wide variety of stuff - furniture, postcards, clothing, jewelry, and all the random other things you find in antique shops. The staff were friendly and helpful. Like any multi-dealer shop, pricing varies from dealer to dealer. Some are fair, some are ridiculously optimistic about what they think people will pay. I was there for the first time yesterday and found some wonderful compacts. My personal taste leans toward 1940s and '50s kitchenware and women's accessories, and there was plenty here to capture my interest, including some wonderful Beautyware flour and sugar canisters, a lovely chrome cake plate, and a Kewpie doll powder shaker for my friend Lisa. Buyer beware- this place is trying to scam you. It's difficult to read the price tags as they're all written in chicken scratch from various vendors which leaves a lot open to confusion. Then, when you go to check out, the cashier will not read you your total. I was under the impression that I was buying a $49 dollar jacket but was instead charged $249. Upon realizing the mistake I returned to try and fix the issue. I was immediately told that they would accommodate me as it was their mistake for not repeating the total, but when I returned with the jacket and waited in line for another 30 minutes, I was told that the owner decided I would be forced to keep the jacket and that the cashier "repeated the total." I can say unequivocally that this is not true. I even noted as I was checking out that they did not read me my total. Upon further inspection, I came to find that the jacket is only worth $100 on a good day. Antiques on Elm along with their vendors are just looking to scam you. Wish I had known before I was out nearly $300. Take your business elsewhere. read more

My new favorite antique shop in NH! We stopped in here looking for gold rings, and found tons of things we never even knew we needed. Awesome old frames, vintage soda bottles of all prices, shapes, and sizes, great folk art for reasonable prices ($45 for a hand-stitched map of the state), jewelry, vases, art, signs, etc. I got stuck in front of the postcard stall and ended up with $28 of postcards of my hometown and college, including my first year dorm - a treasure I never expected to find! My sister got griffin-shaped salt and pepper shakers for $9. The prices are competitive and reasonable, the wares are diverse and impressive, the store is easy to navigate and to get lost in for ten minutes or three hours. Most of all, the ladies who own the shop were incredibly friendly and helpful, taking the time to help us find what we needed and marveling at our discoveries with us. This is definitely going to be a staple of future trips home to NH! There's tons of parking nearby - whether you park on the street, in the bank lot after hours, or even at Market Basket across the street if you're willing to risk a ticket/go in and buy a soda beforehand so you can be a paying customer. PS: paying by credit card sometimes leads to less of a discount, so bring cash if you can! read more

Have had multiple situations where I have gone into the store with my wife and son and been ignored, treated poorly, or worst of all followed around as though I was a thief. I will never return after the most recent trip where my son and I went in to buy himself something with his own money. The staff treated him poorly and even suggested he not be in the store. To be clear, he was not running, bothering anyone or even touching anything. They told me he was just young. read more

We heard about this new group shop and decided to pay a first visit. I'm glad we did! After an hour of perusing, we left with an armload of fun stuff! Some items we purchased... an old painted fly rod rack a mid-century modern aluminum smoking pipe (in box) a box of 45rpm records a 1940's - 1950's New Hampshire pennant flag some nice turn of the century bird prints Since that visit, we've made a few more over a couple of months They aren't heavy on true Antiques. But if you're decorating a 20th Century home, i think you'll find plenty to look at. We've been relatively happy with the dealer pricing. Mostly on the fair side. Only a few (very minor gripes) - Parking in downtown ManchVegas can be a hassle if there aren't any in the lot - turnover seems average. would love to see dealers keeping things fresh 7 out of 10 is my rating. The employees were very personable and offered to hold things at the front for me when I was holding them. I found a couple of treasures to purchase. You cant ask for a better antique shop! Not only are the prices the best in the area, but the selection is great and always changing (its a group shop). The best part as to be the extremely friendly and helpful staff. I make a habit of traveling to different antique shops all over New England and I have yet to find any that have a staff that compares to Antiques on Elm's. The vintage/antique jewelry selection is fantastic, as is decor and furniture. Youll find everything from mid-century modern to Victorian. I highly recommend Antiques on Elm! read more

Lots of unique items, a little bit of everything. Most everything seemed to be priced to sell. I was able to buy a large furnature item for a bit less than marked price, there was some wiggle room on that item which was nice. Store has great open hours which helped as I had to return to get said item back home with a borrowed truck. Will shop again for sure. read more

Manchester is getting to be a destination spot for antiques again. I just checked out a brand new shop on lower Elm St and they had great stuff. It looked like they had 50+ dealers in the shop and I got some great deals. Definitely an eclectic mix of a little of everything. I found one booth that the person was selling retro clothing such as old bowling shirts, authentic Hawaiian shirts, beautiful period women's clothes, and other 50s & 60s stuff. I will definitely make it a stop when going thru Manchester from now on. read more
