This used to be the home of Washington Antique Mall, an antique store with lots of different vendors and cool items. I recently went in here because I heard that Washington Antique Mall moved out (sad), but that Bedillion's moved in and everything was cheap. I was expecting something like the Bedillion's Furniture store in Washington which sold antique and used furniture and other small items. Wrong. This is supposed to be a thrift/antique store, but it's filled with total junk. Lots of things seemed dirty, even for a thrift store. Things are haphazardly organized and thrown around without any logical sections. There was nothing good in here, in my opinion. And it's also located in a dead mall, so it's not exactly in an ideal location. I don't see this place lasting too long.

The store knows it has gems, and the prices reflect that. The store is very well curated, though, and not just loaded full of junky stuff. You will definitely find something at Outdated Threads if you're a stylish cat who likes copping vintage sports shirts, Cosby pullovers, acid washed denim, ironic hats and other slick stuff. For the most part, the store sells menswear, but if you're a discerning lady, you will find stuff here, too. You'll also find lots of accessories, jackets, posters and video games to play. They have a vintage Pac-Man console in the back! One of my children did not want to leave this store because he was having so much fun playing Pac-Man for free. There's also a really neat claw machine full of hats that you can play for a quarter, or free with purchase. Outdated Threads is located in downtown Wheeling, across from Centre Market. Parking is on the street for free.

Each mall was hit hard during the recession, it doesn't matter where that mall is located. The reason I cannot give this mall any higher than three stars is because of its layout. It's large. And spread out, and dated. A little update is definitely needed. And maybe add more restrooms. Looking for one while in here ended with us going into Sears I think, just to use their bathroom. All the way at the other end of the mall from where we parked. For a Sunday, when we stopped, this mall was kind of dead too. But no one really shops on a Sunday much. Maybe once all those stores under construction open, that'll draw people in.

Do West Virginians love their food halls? Maybe so. Centre Market has the famous Coleman's Fish Market, plus a second location of Tito's Sloppy Doggs (called Tito's in the Market House), a cheese shop and Michael's Beef House, home of the original roast beef sandwich. There's a building that's not physically connected but still part of Centre Market, and it houses a coffee shop, a hand-pie bakery, an ice cream shop and an art gallery. This part of Centre Market also has comfy couches and games to play, so if you're looking for an area to hang out and stay a while, this part of Centre Market is your spot. I love a good food hall, and Centre Market is a good place to visit if you're looking to find something to eat but don't know what you want. There's something for everyone here, and it's all local, which is great.

On a Thursday afternoon the market area was mostly empty and desolate, but the vendors who were operating were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Makes me sad that Wheeling used to be THE city in which to see and be seen. We bought a few sweets and sausages from local vendors and I am sure I could have spent WAY more money here. The building reminds me of the marketplace in Charleston SC on a much smaller scale. I hope these vendors can make it and I wish them a major boost of life and vitality. Everything about Wheeling: the number of Victorian homes, the historic businesses, and the centre market have so much offer, if only a little love continues to go into downtown.

The prices ranged from a bargain bin of $25 up to $500. There was some very lovely pieces but nothing that I couldn't live without. Street parking outside along the building complex cost me about .65 cents for just under 2 hrs.
