Do people still collect these kinds of things? In this, the year of our Lord, 2025? I guess they do, because here they are for sale. The whole rest of the store is a wonderful treasure chest of vintage gems. I saw so many things that I wanted to take home, including some old black-and-white photographs, but I resisted because my old-black-and-white-photographs-of-strangers-I've-never-met-and-places-I've-never-been is bursting at the seams. There is everything here, from jewelry and plates to 2Pac t-shirts and scorpion paperweights. The top floor of the shop seemed like it had some of the more modern things. Lots of globes, for some reason? There was also a space dedicated to art by locals. The whole store is quiet and well organized, not junky and claustrophobic like some antique shops. They have tons of brochures for other nearby antique spots to check out located by the front checkout desk. They do have one unisex bathroom on the main floor and it's always clean. And we always find a treasure to take home. Riverview Antiques is a spacious shop nestled among a line of similarly charming shops near the Ohio and Muskingum rivers in downtown Marietta. My wife and I love to start our river crawl at Riverview Antiques by the Ohio River, and gradually, shop by shop, make our way down Front Street until we can rest our feet and sink our teeth into homemade fudge at Favorite Things. Riverview is operated by knowledgeable gentlemen who really know (A) where to find cool antiques, and (B) how to present them in a store so that you feel like you're in a time machine and walking around someone's living room 100 years ago. And the prices are pretty good, too. Don't leave Marietta without checking them out.
