There is an English menu available online but not in the restaurant. Here's where I get confused. The service is excellent, full white tablecloth treatment, old-school European style. No detail is missed. Then we get to the food. It's really pretty good, all told. Here's where the attention to details goes sideways. The bread rolls felt as if they had been sitting since yesterday. The beans, although delicious, had sat around on the plate long enough to be room temperature and develop a crust. The totopos stuck in the beans were in the beans long enough to get soggy. The rice served alongside the moles was barely above room temperature and a bit dried out. All the food, in general, needed to arrive from the kitchen much warmer. Essentially, anything that could be made ahead of time was, and then left sitting out. It doesn't fit and I don't get it.

It's been part of Turkish cuisine for centuries. As a Turkish American, it was disappointing to see it labeled Greek, especially with "Greek yogurt" on the menu -- that term itself is often used generically in the U.S. for strained yogurt, when the style actually originates from Turkey. I'd really appreciate it if the menu credited the dish correctly as Turkish. Getting the origins right matters, especially for dishes that carry real cultural history. We got the typical traditional Puebla dishes - * chile en nogada (stuffed poblano pepper in nut sauce and pomegranate) * cecina (thin, marinated salted beef) * green enchiladas * caldo (soup) with chili * mole with pork (cerdo) * chalupas combinadas (chalupas with red salsa, green salsa, mole) The bread with avocado and cheese is not complimentary - I think it was like 60 pesos per order, and they brought out 2 orders without asking. Deducting a star for that and the ambiance, or lack thereof. 75 pesos for 2 Palomas (citrus juice with alcohol and salt rim) or 2 sangrias during happy hour. Yes to the Palomas, even though it was made with lemon and not grapefruit juice. The agua fresca of lemon and chia seeds was refreshing too. Now the food is excellent. I don't think I had a favorite. They're all very different. The only thing I wouldn't get again are the chalupas. Fried dough doesn't appeal too much to me. The cecina was too salty for me, but I still enjoyed the flavor. The sweetness of the Chile en Nogada threw off my friends, but I liked it. Reminded me of Persian dishes like fesenjan. The mole was sweeter than I'm used to but was delicious, and the soup and enchiladas were great, too. The service is slow but the grandpa owner is the third generation owner whose grandma established the restaurant - and his grandchildren currently work at the restaurant, so 5 generations have been pouring into this establishment. Hearing the story makes it a part of the experience. So yeah! Recommended for food - perhaps even more so at dinner time when it's not so hot outside :)

It's a simple 12'x5' store front with no seating or tables. People just go there, order their food, and eat standing up. After a few bites of your Molote or Pelona, you'll forget that you're standing, as you contemplate the next item to order. All of their foods are made fresh and in front of you - be sure to let them know if you want red or green sauce or Sour cream on your meal. Arrive before their rush hour, which typically begins around 2 pm.
