It adds enough stress to my life that it seems the opposite of healthy! I know doctors have to cover themselves for liability reasons but sheesh. Four stars because she's in many ways a good doctor. It would be 2 stars if I factored in dealing with the gentleman in reception. I feel worse, not better, after these interactions. I realized that is the opposite of how I want to feel, especially during stressful times in my life. It just adds one more layer of stress.

I called and texted the office number because I was having trouble finding it according to the google directions -- if you're at the New Deal Cafe, it's the brick building next door, and their entrance is the NORTH green door on the lower level of the building. Once I was inside, I was immediately prompted to check in at the kiosks in the waiting room. It was an easy process with iPads, and they captured images of my drivers license and insurance card. There was NO WAIT, and as soon as I was finished checking in, I was brought into a patient room by Julia herself. Since it was my first appointment there, I supplied my medical history, list of medications, etc, and she took all my vitals. The room was a nice size, with holographic privacy screens on the window that made pretty prisms from entering sunlight. It was all very clean. Julia was easy to talk to, and listened to me well. I didn't feel judged or pressured, and she answered all of the questions that I had. I'm glad that I found her!

I started off seeing his son, Dr. Bernard Farzin, Jr. Then he moved and now I see Dr. Mostaan. They have kept this practice in the family and I'm glad because their "bedside manner" is awesome!!! Unlike most doctors office, I don't have to wait long, maybe 5-10 min, before they call me back. I can get an appt fairly easy, meaning, I do not have to wait months because he's so busy. You would expect Dr. Mostaan to be over booked because he is a Cardiologist as well as my Primary physician. However, he takes on just enough where he can give you his personal attention without rushing. This shows me that his patients mean more to him then making quick money. He explains everything clearly and in layman's terms. He takes the heart very seriously and that's what I love about him. My son and Daughter both see Dr. Mostaan. Both are in their early twenties and could easily go to a pediatrician somewhere else but they prefer Dr. Mostaan. Dianna, Dr. Mostaan's right hand woman is THE BEST! She has been working with Dr. Mostaan for so long that she knows almost as much as him and she's not a doctor! My…read moredad was my PCP for years, but after he retired I struggled for years to find a new PCP... and stumbled on Dr. Maslen based on a recommendation on our community list serve. Making him our family doc was the best decision we ever made. He is INCREDIBLY approachable; you never feel rushed, he takes the time to answer all questions big and small -- and over all just seems to go the extra mile, and REALLY & TRULY CARE about his patients. PCPs/General practitioner family docs are a dying breed. To find a PCP that is a sole practitioner, not in a large medical group is EXTREMELY rare, if not basically extinct these days. It makes SUCH a HUGE difference to have a doc, where you are HIS patient rather than just another number to a random group practice. The gold ol' days of medicine are almost gone and it is just so amazing that Dr. Maslen is still there. All the pressures in medicine today push, if not force docs to sell their practices and join these large medical groups-- costs, insurance, etc are the culprit here. We are just so thankful to have a doctor that loves what he does and endures the incredible pressures to retain his independent sole practice. Idk..
