I was scheduled for a 2:00 appointment on 02/22/2021 for a pulmonary function test. I had even received an email confirming the appointment the week prior. When I arrived for my appointment the receptionist told me they had called and left a message cancelling the appointment. I had never received such a message or phone call. I verified that they had my correct phone number on file, and they did. No excuse for not calling or emailing to cancel the appointment! To add insult to injury, I had to pay $5.00 for parking for this non-appointment. The receptionist seemed completely unperturbed by this snafu, and told me to go to another address where they could do the test. She didn't give me a referral, contact name or bother to get an appointment for me. Thinking the address was for another location for the same practice, I drove there. Turned out it was Sibley Hospital. Not having a referral or appointment or even what department to look for -- and not wanting to wait around with sick people, I decided to leave and go home. This shouldn't happen to anyone, especially someone like me, who has ALS and has difficulty getting around.

The person answered my call was nice. After he put me on hold a couple of times, he found out that my sample was never submitted. The reason was when the lab technician came to pick up samples, the person that worked in the doctor's office never printed the doctor's order for my sample. As a result, they never submitted my sample. I don't understand why 1st, the person that was responsible for printing the order didn't do it; 2nd, why the technician didn't alert the office there? 3rd, why nobody from the doctor's office called me and asked me to go back and give sample again? It's frustrating and makes me wonder what kind of other mistakes they can make? Mixing up patient's samples or orders? As of now, I am waiting for their office manager to call me back.

When I first started seeing a physician at Jivana Care the care was fine. It wasn't until the…read morepractice moved to a new building that I started having issues with JC. There seems to be a disconnect between the patient portal and the admin staff. Every time I paid my co-pay online, the admin office would still ask me for a co-pay when they called to verify my appointment. This was the first issue that tipped me off. There was another time it took so long for me to received lab results that the problem became more severe and I had to go to Urgent Care for medical attention. The most recent issue took place when I was in the office of a specialist and they received the wrong order from Jivana Care in order to examine me. The front desk of the specialty office called JC a couple times. 30 minutes later they had not received the order from JC. Then I called JC and JC said the order was already sent. I kept JC on the phone while the front desk of the specialty office checked their system and they still did not see the corrected order. After the front desk checked again and didn't see the order, JC told me they would send the order. Another 30 minutes later, I had not received the order. At this point, I had been waiting for JC for over an hour. So I went to the JC office, like I've had to do before in order to retrieve an order. I'd had issues getting into the office before so I wasn't suprised when I had issues this day. The elevator was broken and there was no way for me to get upstairs. I then pushed the Ring-like doorbell they asked visitors to use if the elevator didn't work. I rang the bell a couple times and finally received a text message telling me that JC contacted the doctor in order to process my request, even thought when I was at the specialty office I was told the doctor had already created the order. After feeling like the practice dismissed me with a text and sent me on a wild goose chase, unnecessarily, I decided to find a new primary physician. I submitted my request a week before Christmas and the JC still has not forwarded my medical documents to my new physician. Also, when I called to request my medical records I was told that I would need to pay a fee to get my records. I didn't care and was willing to pay any fee to move on to a new practice. After that call, I was told I had to go to the office to submit the request form to transfer my records, and when I did, they didn't mention anything about paying a fee to transfer records. To date, my medical records have not been transferred to my new primary care physician, and I am VERY eager to move on. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this practice.

When clients were transferred to Corewood from another provider there was no organized support offered and no significant changes to the disorganization and lack of follow up in sight. It became too difficult to reach anyone, to get clarity on procedures or figure out forms that weren't working, and then also finding billing errors and getting shifted around or given wrong information. I felt on my own and as if Corewood never saw these things as real problems. They had many reasons & explanations which I understood at the time, but I got tired of trying to accept struggling on my own to get simple things you would need and that you are paying for.
