Trucker central! The food here was unreal. I had the hot Hamburg and fries - the 10 oz patty was cooked perfectly with nice char to the outside. It had great smoke flavor. Their fries are outstanding - I believe they are double frying them. My wife had the BLT and it was huge and she said it was delicious. It had to be close to 4 inches thick. She could only eat half. The chicken was an inch thick! Washrooms were super clean and the waitress was friendly and fast. I know this seems like a fake review but they really blew me away. It was such a great choice for dinner and will likely return again when in Arnprior. read more

Really great, busy truck stop restaurant off the 417 that is also very popular with the non-trucking locals. Sparkly clean with in-house bakery, gift shop, and large diner area. The food is excellent (including the fries) and the portions generous, and they have a seniors selection as well with smaller portions. 2020 - I don't drive a rig anymore. However, I do come back often. As sporadic as I am, and I drive past every 6 months or so, I get served by Nick. He is a very attentive waiter. Treats me and my guests like royalty. 2023 - Stopped in again. I still drive from Ottawa to northern Ontario. Every chance I get, when they are open, I stop, get baked goods, have breakfast (I prefer eggs and bacon), say hello to Greg, then continue on my route. You know you go anyplace a lot, when you are on first name basis with staff. It really does feel like home. Even the lad who makes sure the place is clean, inside and out, is friendly. And yes, sometimes even get gas and/or stuff from the tuck shop. Great prices, great food, great experience. I can spend my wage anywhere. I prefer here. I appreciate all the helpful staff. The wait staff are amazing. Again 2023, Had a quick chat with Greg, while wifey was in the washroom. Still had to wait. Very busy, for breakfast, on Saturday. Well worth the wait. Anytime we're in Almonte, we seem to find our way here. The place is always busy. Honestly, I think it's full of locals, I don't see many truckers there, maybe we're not going at the right time. Anyway, the food isn't anything to write home about. It's decent, greasy spoon type food. Hot dogs, hamburgers, wraps, soup, along with "fancier" meals like steak. They have a HUGE bakery counter where you can buy pastries made in house. Those are really quite good, we've bought cookies there before to bring home. The truck stop is worth a stop-in for a quick bite. read more

I've eaten here many times over the years and can't believe I haven't done a review on them. They used to be in the village of Antrim but when highway 17 was rerouted they moved to Arnprior. The food here has always been good and hearty and the portions are generous. Last Friday my wife, brother and sis in law had lunch at ATS and thoroughly enjoyed it. My sis in law had the hamburger soup which she always has there and declared it delicious as usual. My wife had the chicken Caesar wrap which she enjoyed and my brother and I had the special Fish and Chips (haddock). He had one piece F&S and I had 2 pieces. I've gotta say I probably could have done with just one piece. It's a big portion. They give you a heaping order of fries with all dishes and interestingly enough the F&S also came with corn. I didn't eat that and couldn't really see why it was needed. It also came with a dinner roll. Lots of food! The manager came by, as he usually does, and specifically thanked us for coming in now that the quarantine rules have been lifted a little. The restaurant was busy and he went around to every table. Great customer service. They have done an excellent job of placing plexiglass between booths to comply with social distancing and they follow all the Public Health guidelines They also have an excellent bakery on site as well as a gift shop. Everyone said for baked goods ATS is where it's at - but let's be honest, it's a damn truck stop. Anyway, finally, I popped in for the first time this week. Covid measures had me feeling safe and HOLY HOLY HOLY desserts! We got a sampler tray, a cooked pie, a frozen pie, some jams, and cheesy sticks. This is a review of the bakery only. I drove there at the recommendation of a friend. The butter tarts are pretty ok, as are the donuts. Very limited bread variety, nothing too interesting, and mediocre in taste. The carrot cake was excessively sweet. I gave it away. Worst was the pie. Very expensive at $18.95. I chose a pie labelled "cherry". It was blueberry. It is about the most tasteless pie I have ever had. Mushy crust, no taste to the filling. I would not have known it was blueberry excpet for the texture. My emailed complaint has been unanswered. read more

We enjoyed our lunch with Pam as our server. She was awesome and helpful in choosing our meal as well as taking pictures for us! I had a Caesar on a whole wheat wrap and a huge amount of fries was so fresh delicious. We felt comfortable with everyone wearing masks and following protocol of hand sanitizer. We went into Arnprior to have dinner at another place but they had closed early. Not knowing where else we should go we decided to check out the truck stop. This is a fairly large truck stop with a ginormous gift shop. They've got all sorts of knick knacks to fritter your money away on. They also have an in-house bakery where you can pick up some bread or other baked goods. The restaurant is quite large and the first thing you notice is the cleanliness of the place. It's insane. I've never seen a restaurant this clean before. The floors, tables, and booths were spotless. Nothing was out of place, salt n pepper shakers and ketchup all lined up perfectly. The attention to detail is something to see. The service was great. Multiple quality checks and friendly service. As to the food. As an appetizer I went for the deep fried pickles. At 3.99 I was expecting a couple of gherkins as the price is usually double that in a restaurant. To my surprise they showed up full sized. They were great. Nice crispy batter. For the main event I went with the fish n chips, which were ok. Typical frozen fish and crinkle cut fries. I'm no Jay when it comes to crinkle cut fries and prefer regular ones. The fish was middle of the road. I'll definitely be hitting up this place again in the future. It's nice that it's open 24 hrs. read more

My husband and father-in-law gushed about how amazing this place is and how good the food is, so when I went, I was expecting something really good. Instead, my experience was so-so. Walking in, I saw the variety of baked goods and other items for sale, and was impressed by the variety. However, the little shop with spices and other things didn't open until 10 and unfortunately, I missed out on checking that part out. As for our breakfast, service was really good. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. It was fairly early when we went so I wasn't the most hungry. I ordered the English Muffin Breakfast sandwich minus the egg and an order of home fries. While the sandwich was not expensive, I definitely feel I could've made a comparable or better sandwich at home. The home fries were very bland and left a lot to be desired. The prices of the food were very reasonable, but you definitely are getting what you pay for with mediocre food. read more

Delicious food everytime!! The restaurant is always buzzing full of families, couples, truckers and teens. Go on the weekend prepare yourself to wait in line but it is definitely worth it. Even though it's busy the food rarely ever takes long to arrive. They even provide crayons to occupy the kiddies so they can play games on the placemats as the food is being prepared. The bakery always smells delicious and has a variety of freshly baked goods all the time. Perfect for that late night craving I recommend the monkey bread!! Yum ooh or the cheesy bread..ugh now I'm.hungry! The gift shop is super cute with one section dedicated to religion. Baptism, communion, god etc The other part has lots of beautiful outdoor knick knacks, signs, figurines, post cards you name it. You can definitely catch yourself losing track of time with all the different things to choose from. My only complaint was how they stopped serving food late at night ie after midnight it was the go to spot to eat after a night or dancing and drinking. The food was fantastic, the prices were fair, and I swear they have the fluffiest pancakes I've ever seen! Furthermore they have an incredibly bakery with the most delicious baked goods. Yes, it is a truck stop; BUT, it is not what you think. I was visiting a friend in the area and, the morning after a late night of drinking, we required a delicious breakfast. He recommended "the truck stop", which sounded like a bad idea to me. I was wrong. We were greeted by a friendly waitress at the entrance, and were quickly shown to our booth. On the way to our seats, I was amazed to see that the place was spotless; AND they have a bakery on premises. All of our baked goods were freshly made! The menu is large and everything tastes home cooked. No gross oily eggs. If you happen to be in the area, I really recommend you check it out. read more

My wife and I have been to this diner multiple times. We live about 10 minutes outside of downtown Ottawa and drive all the way out here whenever we're celebrating anything or even just to enjoy a great homestyle cooked meal. Not once have we ever been disappointed with the food, the service or the amenity. It truly is an absolute joy to attend this restaurant. While it is, indeed, a truck stop, it is a very modern truck stop with all conveniences for truckers, but also a full scale eatery for everyone else as well. Listen folks, if you're looking for huge portions of really great food, at extremely good prices then this is the place for you. Over the years, we've tried close to 75% of their menu, and quite honestly, nothing has ever disappointed. I mean really, even the steak is always cooked perfectly to our liking. We just had steak, actually, a couple of days ago. I asked for medium, and my wife asked for medium-well (which in our experience is the most difficult for anyone to get right). Well... I gotta tell ya... They got both of them absolutely and precisely on point, the way they are actually supposed to be cooked according to those specs. And they had an awesome char on them also. Very impressed. Even though they do state on their menu that there are no substitutions, they always do, in fact, give us our requested sweet potato fries instead of regular fries -- albeit for a very modest extra cost -- but still, they do accommodate. And hey, you wouldn't believe the huge mound of those fries they pile on the plate -- it's crazy. I don't know how they do it because sweet potato fries are definitely not cheap as is evident in any grocery store, and yet they still provide a very generous serving of them. Another few points... The cleanliness of the restaurant is second to none, even the washrooms. It's amazing. The level of service by all of their staff, from servers, to bakery, to cashiers in the gifts stores, is incredibly professional, friendly and accommodating. Incidentally, if you're looking for a very unique gift for a hard-to-please person, then look no further than either of their on-site gift stores. You're sure to find something there that can't be found anywhere else. Oh and by the way, their bakery makes by far the very best fresh baked bread and butter tarts you'll find anywhere. In fact, it's their freshly baked buns that you'll get with your meals - and I mean fresh and hot. And I can't forget about their huge line of home-made varieties of pickles in mason jars -- the bread 'n' butter pickles are the best I've ever had. Now I know what you're all probably thinking right about now... That I must be one of the owners, or staff, or was paid to post this review. I'm actually not any of those. We're not connected to the anyone at this place at all. We are genuine local customers who are just really happy with this restaurant, have always been treated well, and have never had a negative experience with anything here. So since I believe in giving credit when and where it's due, then I felt I needed to post this review to honor a truly exceptional business. And while I am one of those people who almost never gives full stars to anything (which in my mind implies an impossible excellence), in this particular case I felt it is truly deserved. Of course, I'm not trying to detract from anyone else's legitimate review here, it's just that we have not yet been party to any of those other less than perfect experiences. Just one final little tidbit... Even the gas prices at this location were the cheapest I'd seen anywhere on most days we go. The last time we were there a couple of days ago, it was 89.9 when all of Ottawa and the Outaouais was at 94.9 and up. All the more reason to eat there. This rating is just on their Buttertarts. I love when they are Thick and not running inside. I've told so many people of the years they have the best Buttertarts. The last year or so you never know if your going to get the best thick ones or runny ones. We just went in the other day and bought 2 boxes of Buttertarts. Very disappointing they were running again. So we decided we shall never buy they're buttertarts anymore. After enjoying the thick ones for over 12 years. Very sad very sad I also will no longer tell anyone they are the greatest because they changed them again back to runny. Yuck read more

When we lived in Arnprior we went to the Antrim Truck Stop every Saturday morning after a round of golf. Then sometimes we went for lunch or dinner. The food is amazing. The place is beyond spotless. You could eat off the floor; it's that clean. The nick knack store was huge and they have a little store as well for a few more pricier items. They have freshly baked goods, fresh homemade jams, pickles, spice, etc for sale as well. I no longer live in Arnprior but if I am in the area I make sure that I stop by for a meal and the great service that I have always had. They always remember me whenever I show up. read more

It's a great place for comfort food. It is a Truck Stop with a bakery and nice gift shop. Service is ok, pricey for what you get. There are no substitute at all and they charge extra for some thing, like gravy. They use to charge for jam. I've traveled around the world and I've always been accommodated to dietary allergies I have. But not here, no substitutes! A couple of weeks ago on a Sunday we were on our way to visit family in Pembroke and as always we headed to the Antrim Truck Stop for a bite to eat on our way. It has always been a great place to visit, with its bakery and gift store this place is a home run for pit stops. As always the food is good and great portion sizes with reasonable prices. Every time we have visited the wait staff has been above and beyond what we find in other establishments. This time we sat in a booth by the windows which is really neat because they put neat trinkets that you can buy on display and that gives you something to look at while waiting for your meal to arrive. The only negative thing was that our server took our order and disappeared, another server from across the room delivered our order and another girl filled our coffee. Our original server came back and finally checked on us and put our bill on the table. When it came time to pay she was gone again so we flagged down another server who brought the machine and cashed us out. When we were leaving our server came out of an office and did say thank you to us. I guess my concern is...who gets the gratuity? Well other than this little incident this place is fantastic and we will be back and don't forget to visit the gift shop it is fabulous. read more
