Initially, I called another construction outfit, and after telling me they could do the job, and after many delays, they later said the job was too small for them. Then I came across Biilt. Biilt, took the job, and I couldn't be happier. During their inspection it was discovered that there was some rotted wood to the original overhang. The house is old, really old, so this didn't come as a surprise. The Biilt crew was able rebuild the entire overhang and at a reasonable price. Construction, roofing, even clean up, they did it all, and their staff were polite and willing to work with me though the project. Cody, Aaron and the rest of the Biilt team did a fantastic job. The deck and overhang look great now and will probably outlast the rest of the house. Solid professional construction. In the future, my first call for quality construction needs, will be to Biilt. We had a master suite added on, including laundry, closet space, and a full bath. First and foremost - they were on budget and on time FOR EVERYTHING. I had heard so many horror stories from friends who had contract work done, and I was shocked at how smoothly everything went and how responsive everyone at BiiLT was. There of course were issues. There always are - but Brent was always there to walk us through what was going on and ensure things didn't get off pace. Were I to do any work like this again - I would call them first without looking anywhere else. We even had issues with a neighbor who was just a pain during the process. Brent intervened and just handled everything. And the addition? My only regret is not doing it sooner. It is beautiful. I love my new master suite. I have never had the opportunity to live in new construction, and 4 months into living in this room, I still love it!

They were great about giving a thorough and fact-based, on-site estimate; able to roll with it when circumstances changed ("You wanted us to use your leftover paint on the door outside -- did you know that's indoor paint? It's okay, we can get outdoor paint in that color, just wanted to check that you didn't mean for us to use the wrong paint."); able to make suggestions mid-project ("The color on your front door, we were thinking it might look great around the garage door we just fixed up. Come see what you think."); able to expand the contract in small ways ("Clean that clogged gutter? Sure, we can bring our ladder tomorrow.") and large ("Um, okay, that indoor paint that was on your door, did the gang that painted you before use that same paint on the shutters? Because your shutters don't match your front door now. Leave it like that, or add the shutters to the paint job? Because we can get more paint, no problem!") They fixed up our kitchen ceiling (which showed where there had been leakage before, plus a large hole where repairs had been needed for the leak) to the point that it's impossible to tell where the damage was--the former hole in the ceiling is now invisible. They replaced the front porch railing (rotted in a couple of the posts and part of the railing) with vinyl parts that won't rot or need much maintenance, yet looks like the old railing. They took off old wallpaper in our guest bath and painted the walls beautifully (moving the toilet as needed, something we had not anticipated but was obvious after they started--they made it sound like no big deal). They put up new outside lighting and cleaned up the area around the new lights so there's no way to tell these are replacements for old rusty junk. Besides the great workmanship, we enjoyed how much the guys took pride in their work--they genuinely were very pleased with how well everything worked out. "Would you hire this company again?" Already have! We're contracting with them to help prepare for a new gas/electric stove. The company that sold us the new stove told us we would have to hire someone to run a gas line; someone else to upgrade the electric; and someone else to modify the counter area to fit the new stove. Instead, we're hiring CentralX, who will do it all.

Our Kitchen Project: (Just Completed)…read more My wife and I had been wanting to have our kitchen remodeled for several months. When it finally came time to do it, we started going through the process of trying to find the right contractor for the project. We spent several weeks researching until we came across Yorklyn Construction. Once we met Ben, we felt like the search was over. The advice, detailed thought he put into our plans brought a sense of comfort to us. The quotes were fair and where we hoped they would be. Starting with Ben, our experience fanned out to the rest of folks working for Yorklyn. Tom, who managed our project, was absolutely in touch with our thoughts as the project transitioned from demo to the "rebuild". He did a better job of "detail nitpicking" than I could have. From the beginning they stated it clearly, "we want it done right for you." They certainly lived up to that and exceeded it. The carpentry work with the cabinets they constructed all the way down to the floor thresholds / transitions were perfect, and I mean perfect. I'm sure a lot of contractors hold similar standards, but where Yorklyn pulls ahead is with how they treat your property, residence and your family. You become a bit more than a customer. If you are looking at having some work done, I hope you give these folks a look. I'm sure you will end up where my wife and I are. (Incredibly happy customers!)

To Whom This May Concern:…read more Typically, we are not people that post reviews. Oh, if we really don't like something we have been known to speak up directly to the company. We have to have very strong feelings to post in a public forum. After all, saying something about a person's lively hood should not be taken lightly. Often people are quick to criticize and slow to praise. We would like to change that. We have a house that was in need of updates and repairs. We also where in desperate need of storage. We invited several companies to come by and tell us what they thought and to give us a bid. Two companies that came by and told us the project was too big for them and no bid the project. Finally, it came down to two companies from the area, Yorklyn Construction being one. Yorklyn shot straight with us. They told us the truth, not what they thought we wanted to hear. The bids came in pretty close but Yorklyn impressed us with their candor and professionalism which gave us confidence that once they agreed to something they would meet their commitments. We were told that the process would be long (several months) and that we would basically be living in a construction site. Like I stated, they shot straight with us and it was a big project. Side note, they did everything they could to minimize any discomfort and were respectful that this was our home. We did have hiccup's but Yorklyn's staff and the sub-contractors where great. In a project this size there are hundreds of small decisions, but I can honestly say that everyone involved looked out for our best interests. If they thought we were making a wrong choice, they spoke up. For example, we chose the color of grout for the shower in a showroom. The tile guy put in the tile but thought we made a mistake with the color of the grout. He didn't just go and let us make a mistake. Instead he spoke up and brought it to our attention. He and the project manager discussed it with us and made suggestions that we elected to follow and are happier for that decision. We had a similar experience with their painter. Trust me things look different in a sample catalog or a showroom than in your house. I also wanted to say that their carpenters are great and their cabinet guy is amazing, very skilled and exact, a true craftsman. Our cabinets are just wonderful. We can also tell you that on the rare occasion that we did express displeasure, they made it right and when a problem was our fault, they were fair. Several of the Yorklyn staff and sub-contractors feel like friends. We have very warm feelings for these people. We have grown to trust them. Not only would we recommend them, we will call upon them in the future when we need skilled professional trades people. Often in business "quality "is defined as meeting or exceeding a customer's expectations, in our book, Yorklyn's work and the people that make up this company are the definition of quality. We started talking about our job to remodel our third floor in July. We heard nothing from them…read moretill September. Then they said it would be until they got permits. They got permits in early December but didn't tell us till we contacted the township. They only talked to us in early January. They didn't start the job until mid March. They cut a hole in our floor droped a piece of wood through that chipped some paint we worked the workers, who dropped another piece through they had to replace our floor. They put no trim in the corners of our floor. Then we had our top floor also refloored. They cut out a vital beam and tried to fix it, leaving a bend in the under wood. They then rushed and didn't repair it fully, when they put flooring down the floor had a 3 inch curve in a twelve foot section. They also had a worker who they said was out for "personal" problems. But he forgot his tools and came to get them, we asked him why he needed them he said for another job. Would not trust them to build a dog house. Do not hire them.

They gaslit me a bit in hindsight. On the supposed 3rd time they finally knocked on my door and showed me photos of my downspouts. The third house was my old townhouse. I took them at their word that they cleaned the gutters there, but they lied to me. Neighbor had her gutters done, and her contractor shared a pic of my gutters with me. Completely full, no way they were cleaned in the previous year. So they basically ripped me off on the third house. Had to have another company come out, because I didn't feel like getting the run around again.
