Signed my son up for training in mid April. After 10 cancellations, which trainer said he would…read moremake up, which didn't happen consistently, I finally cancelled his membership. As much as I hated to do so, I couldn't take the chance the 10 cancellations would turn to 15, then to 20. Just too much money to take the chance. I started to feel like they were running a racket. Train one day, then cancel, promises to fix and make up, cancel again. Then for me to cancel the contract, Retro and their billing department say they have nothing to do with the trainer... but the trainer and all the billing goes through Retro???? Made no sense. Still waiting to hear if I will get a refund, but anyone interested in signing up for training, beware!

Here I am 8 weeks later still going daily. I've joined gyms before go for the first few days. Stop. Maybe go back. Stop. It's a vicious cycle and through the accountability of the max team and staffers I've been consistent. I've lost some weight, feel better, have gotten healthier and plan to continue. Unfortunately I am moving next month so I won't be able to stay at max in Lacey but will keep going at a location closer to my new home. The owners and trainers are fantastic and amazing people. This session of beach yoga was amazing. This was my first time doing a session of yoga with would…read moredreams studio but not my first time doing yoga. I found this studio a few months ago when I decided to reinvent my July 24th for 2025. Last year on this day in 2024 I had surgery to remove the extra skin after losing 165lbs from 311.5lbs and the surgery I came home and unfortunately started bleeding internally and had to go back to the ER for additional surgery in total I lost 4 pints of blood and needed a transfusion. That day I spent most of the day stressed, panicked, unconscious/ in surgery for 10 plus hours unsure of what came next. I knew this year on July 24th I was gonna seize the day and do stuff relaxing and rejuvenating. This yoga session targeted stretching and zen through the class . There was a point where she mentioned to let go of the stuff that's behind us and release it and leave it at the beach. That moment felt great to really zone in the waves and everything at the shore to move past last year. The instructor was very attentive and made sure everyone understood each pose and directed us when to breathe. This was everything I needed for today, the beach setting and the yoga/zen. Beginners or advance levels can take this class. Thank you!

Having never been on a web cam before, I am able to use Zoom very effectively my phone or laptop for yoga where Erica and I see each other and speak to each other ... so it is just like having my own yoga instructor right next to me to give me instructions, encouragement, tweaks to my poses. And I can tell her if something hurts or ask her questions ... or just talk. It is so much fun!

I still receive compliments from friends and family that remember him. With that said, that was years ago. I took Bam-Bam to Ultimate Dog at 4 months? Maybe slightly older. It was the best decision I made. Jean's style, at the time, was perfect for me and my family. She was clear, direct, and could identify the subtle mistake(s) in my instruction. That was key - to know what you are doing wrong while training your dog so you can correct it. My recommendation is to ask questions and have the mindset that you are seeking to learn how YOU will train your dog and you must put in the time. I recall a dog owner from our class that didn't do the exercises and blamed her Rottie for being disobedient. I don't write a ton of reviews but just had a conversation with a friend and Bam-Bam came up in conversation. Thanks Jean, you made me look good whenever anyone met Bam-Bam.

We found after 4 private sessions with Jean we were the ones who needed the training as well as the dog! Though he's not perfect (yet) he's well on his way! We plan on taking him to her distraction classes as other dogs seem to be his biggest issue. We've done training with other trainers in Monmouth County and Jeans methods hands down have been the best for us and our dog!

We were very excited to hire Matt to help us train our GSP. Our main concerns before hiring him, as…read morewe told him, we enduring our dog does not become reactive, aggressive, and does not attack children as we have two young kids and children coming in and out often for events. Our first visit Matt told us his dog attacked his child on three different occasions. This didn't sit well with us AT ALL, but we decided to try a second session because we paid $580 and obviously wanted to get what we paid for. The second session I mentioned how our dog was very nippy and I'd like advice how to stop that. During this time he informed me his child just had a birthday party and his wife knew not to do it, but she let their dog out of the crate and he attacked a child. Matt seemed more concerned about his image as he said that it was embarrassing because everybody knew what he did for a living. This didn't sit well with me AT ALL and after discussing with my husband, we agreed that having a dog trainer who owns a reactive dog that attacks children can't possibly give us the tools we require to ensure our dog doesn't become like that. If he's unable to control his own dog then how can his advice and training rollover to his clients dogs? We hired Matt on false pretenses. Had he been upfront and honest with us that he had an out of control dog, then we would have never hired him. He refunded 1/3 of our payment due to him being uncomfortable working with us due to our concerns, which is laughable as we shared valid concerns. We 100% deserve the full refund since he was dishonest when we hired him, because no he could not give us the tools required to ensure our dog wasn't aggressive towards people or children since his dog is reactive dog. I'm truly disgusted by his business and for what he charges for 3 sessions considering he can't even train his own dog. So hire if you want, but be aware Matt has a dog in his home who attacks children so if that's the kind of dog trainer you want then go for it. I personally would rather hire a trainer who can control his own animals though.
