Great gym, it would be better with a functioning water fountain. Its been 4-5 years since its been like this, come on.. Please fix it.

Not helpful, not friendly, downright obstinate when I tried to transfer a membership because of a move. They are clearly focused on getting paid members and not gaining another member who will be a repeat customer. Bad move on their part.... Bad business practice. read more

Don't bother with this place. The employees and most patrons are jerks, the prices are ridiculous, the equipment is sparse and outdated, and the only way to get out of your contract is literally to lose limb. There is no real security at night, except that you need a key to get in. There is no security guard or staff working like most 24/7 gyms. Spend the extra money and go to the Wellness Center in Washington or Studio Fit in Houston. Anything is better than Anytime Fitness. read more

While the space at this gym is, overall, pretty solid, there are WAY TOO MANY people each weekday at, like, 6 a.m. And the other Yelp reviews about the "training" sessions in the purple carpet space are RIGHT ON. To whomever operates this location: we don't care about how long, or for how many years, you're posted that these sessions take place. EVERY member has a right to come in and work out wherever they want, whenever they want. Everyone needs to share. Instead, you have to bomb & weave & dodge some elderly people who take up the entire space and spend more time talking than exercising. I've watched it, first-hand, MANY times, and I am not exaggerating. The problem is, this location is trying to make more money via these sessions, but they seem unwilling to do what is necessary to conduct them properly: EXPAND. If you want to have these kinds of sessions, then you need a DEDICATED space to host them - NOT in the middle of the gym, amidst a high traffic area, while you are getting in the way of other members. Some of the employees are nice, but others complain aloud (while members like me are right there, on a SAT afternoon, like Sept. 21) that they are "getting pushed around by members." RUFKM?! I was right there, and no one tried to "push" anyone. Two young ladies were trying to stretch out (as they have a right to do), and they were rudely told to move by the trainer so she could - slowly - take up more space with her once member. This is one of the nicest anytime fitness gyms I've been to. They have a ton of free weights, machines and cardio equipment. Lots of equipment so it never feels overcrowded. read more

I regret joining this gym. It's too small as it is and then they have group training going on at he same time as when the work day ends so that you can't use the space to actually work out. It is overpriced and binds you into a contract that you can't get out of even though you can't workout when it's most convenient for people (after work). They care more about collecting the monthly premium than whether or not you actually go to the gym. Regret. And I still have well over a year and a half to go before I can cancel. I was aware of the contract but I wasn't aware that they take up all usable space at the busiest time. read more

I love this gym! For a 24 hr gym The equipment selection is outstanding! I have noticed a couple people acting "douchey" for lack of a better term, but I don't go to the gym to make friends. I am there to workout. The cardio selection here is great. Plenty of circuit equipment and when I have gone in between peak hours (6p) on weekdays I had no problem getting a bench in the freeweight area. The ONLY reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because they only have a water fountain at the far rear of the gym next to the bathrooms. Its a pain in the butt when you are doing cardio at the front and have to make your way to the back past everyone to get water. If I could I wouldve only deducted a half star since its a very minor annoyance. read more

This is a very small and overpriced gym. Membership here costs more than twice what the brand new Planet Fitness 10 minutes further down the road costs. The staff is rude and the owners are both pushy and greedy and try to lock you in for life no matter what your situation or change in circumstance. You will get better service from a chain. Gym was too small especially after they added the purple flooring and really pushed everything together. Plus, don't get me started on their terrible customer service. I went in to cancel my membership after my contract was ALREADY UP so that I could join another gym and the women talked me into freezing it instead incase I wanted to come back. I was told that I could still cancel at any time. When I went back in to completely cancel they told me I would owe another payment to completely cancel. Now why would I pay for a month of an expensive membership for a gym that I'm not using?? I told the women that I was already told that I could cancel at any point in my freeze and she told me I was wrong that I wouldn't of been told that?! I haven't used their gym in over 4 months and you're going to tell me that I still have to pay you? In what world does that make sense? You've lost a customer FOREVER simply because of your terrible customer service. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Unfortunately I now I have to start taking steps because there is zero customer service if everything isn't going perfectly. Sorry to tell you guys, but this is the real world and business is tough. You're not going to keep every member forever and when you try to not let them quit they're going to get po'd and destroy your reputation in the area they know so well. Even after us moving (cancelation policy requires you to have moved to be able to cancel) they are still trying to not let me cancel. I've had other anytime's say they'll work with me if I had to cancel for whatever reasons and obviously I've had to get out of many other contracts in life that when management/ownership was contacted, they wanted to help me out in anyway possible because of hard times... NOT HERE! I joined anytime in Washington almost two years ago but then transferred to mcmurray and it was the worst decision of my life. They don't get the equipment fixed right when it breaks like Washington did and the bathrooms were horrendous comparatively. Even before I had the moving issue and had no reason to stay a member there, I didn't want to even go there anymore because the bathrooms were either dirty or had broken shower heads. That alone is enough to let someone cancel. I won't tolerate being treated differently, i can provide multiple accounts of my local friends that have canceled early due to extenuating circumstances. For whatever reason you're trying to treat me differently and I'm not getting anywhere with you. Don't try your crap response with "you have to be 25 miles further away without an anytime fitness in x miles from you to be able to quit" really? Yeah we all know 99% of the tie that will never be the case, that's why you threw it in there. No one cares, you can't force us to stay forever. News flash, sometimes customers can be unhappy or just have changes in their lives that they can't help. How you react to those issues and run your business is how you will be known in the future. I will have to continue to spread this word around my whole mcmurray area as well as contact the BBB and whatever else I have to do to be treated correctly as an ex-loyal customer. read more

I have gone to this gym from the moment that they opened, and felt as if I were part of their family from that day forward. I can't say enough about the owners and their attention to updating equipment, and catering to the needs of the members. I am moving soon, and will need to look for a new gym in my area, and can only hope that I find a gym with owners like Dana and Allen. I highly recommend this gym to anyone that is looking for a class act that is 24/7 with no drama. Best gym ever! read more

I've been to quite a few different gyms in the South Hills area over the years. The McMurray Anytime Fitness was renovated recently and is very clean, and the management is very friendly and generally seems to care about their members. Unfortunately that is the extent of the complements I can give. Before I go into the many draw backs of this gym, it should be noted that some of them are not completely the fault of the management, rather circumstances that they have no control over, and the location of the gym. First of all, the gym is small, and not meant for the amount of people that keep joining. I've been a member for over a year now, and try and go to the gym at least 5 days a week for around 2 hours. Every time I am there the management is giving at least half a dozen tours of the gym. These tours can get very annoying after awhile, as they for what every reason feel the need to show each and every piece of equipment off, and get in the way of people working out. Of all the gyms I've been to the tours were never given this way, and they should not be given this way at a gym this small. I'm not sure if there is a member limit or not, but there should be. Its been getting worse and worse over the last few months. Its to the point where at peak hours the amount of people there must be some sort of fire hazard. As I mentioned before this really is not the fault of the gym, but rather the lack of alternatives in the area. Since Alexanders closed, Anytime Fitness is your only real option for a gym. My biggest complaints, again not really the fault of the management, are the members. For how small the gym is there seems to be an overabundance of wannabe bodybuilders aka "meat heads" "gym bros" or what ever you want to call them. These guys will act very rude to people not in there group of "meat heads", bang weights around, loiter at the equipment, not put the weights back or put them in the wrong place, and just generally get in everyone elses way. Now no matter what gym you go to there will always be a few of these kind of people, but Anytime is overrun with them, and it only seems to be getting worse. This is making it harder for older people, and pretty much everyone else that's not a faux bodybuilder to actually get a workout. To conclude, unless you really feel the need to go to the gym, and can deal with a small overcrowded gym, populated with the worst kinds of people I would not join this gym. Hopefully soon another gym will open in the area, and alleviate the pressure on Anytime, but until then its your only option. read more

I have belong to Anytime Fitness in McMurray since the very beginning. I feel very secure going there, anytime of the day or night. If you want to talk and make friends, you can do that there or if you prefer to run in, get your workout done and run right out, you can do that also. The staff is helpful but not intrusive. The place is very clean unless you happen to run across a member who does not clean up after themselves. There are cubbies near the front door and in the back to stash you stuff and hook for coats in colder months. They have a very big variety of equipment, so you can use a treadmill, lipty, bike, stair climber, rowing machine, free weights or weight machines. Also floor mats to use. The location is very convenient, and I usually combine my workout with a trip to the grocery store or another errand. Yep, I have to say I am a fan of Anytime Fitness! read more

There's lots of types of gyms for different goals. To be sure, this place is middle-of-the-road. No one will ever do olympic lifts here. There isn't a real bench, though there is a squat rack. There isn't a belt for doing dips or weighted pullups. Lots of cardio equipment for those that need that. If you're just a regular guy trying to keep in shape, this place is perfect. Cross-fit, power/olympic lifts, or serious about functional strength, go somewhere else. Membership terms and cost isn't great but is in the reasonable range. Always clean.
