I've been a member to many gyms in my life time. From college gyms, bouldering gyms, 24 hour fitness, work gyms, you name it! But Pinole AF will always be one of my favorites. Hands down. I joined last year because even though 24 hour fitness was more affordable, the machines and building were just going down hill fast. The last straw was when I had a partially torn meniscus. I couldn't go up and down stairs but I still went to the gym for rehab and for upper body. Their elevator has been out of service for WEEKS. Essentially making it nearly impossible for me to workout if I needed to use the restroom or locker rooms at all. After this I looked through multiple gyms, pricing and their benefits and went with Anytime. I absolutely LOVE that I can go to any of the AF gyms. I've been to a few others and it's been great to hit the gym when I'm traveling or on vacation. Overall Pinole AF is clean, safe and I love that I never really have had to wait for a machine. Yes the gym is small, but it makes up for it by being one of the most hygienic places I've worked out in. Most of the time if someone is on a machine they never truly hog it and I'm able to get my workout done in the time I want. I'm grateful to have found AF Pinole! read more

Small like the alameda location but very been to. The only plus for me is this location and alameda at marina village have the ski erg machines for Hyrox. I did see 2 glute machines which is nice they're more modern compared to the rest of the equipment.i saw a SSB bar and a platform for deadlifting. This anytime is good. Get in to get workout and out. Been a member here for a few months and it's seriously one of the best exclusive gyms I've joined. Not to mention I have access to others internationally. They vary location to location, and so far this is my favorite. I get my solid hour doing cardio, lifting, and stretching without feeling overwhelmed with a packed gym. They're constantly cleaning and sanitizing. Love that they have two showers. Makes it easy to get a workout in during lunch since my office is so close. Staff is really friendly and super helpful. I reviewed this gym on September 27, 2022, at which time I gave it five stars and wrote about how it is superior to any other gym I have ever experienced. I am reviewing it now because I am still a member, three years later, and I am still thoroughly satisfied with my experience at Anytime Fitness in Pinole. In fact, it just gets better and better...maybe because the facility is just as well-equipped and laid-out, kept just as spotless, and the staff is amazing. Helpful, responsive, hard-working, congenial, knowledgeable...and I could go on...but I won't. Holy moly, we are spoiled at the Anytime Fitness in Pinole! I have visited 6 different Anytime Fitness locations and although I won't name the others I went to, Pinole is BY FAR the most well equipped- you've got mini bands, resistance bands, foam rollers, jump boxes, 2 squat racks (WITH a mirror to check your form!) a studio for group training/stretching....the list goes on! This gym is so nice ! Everything you need is there and it's never super crowded! The all access key fab allows you to use at your disposal and there is no need to ever rush your workout. All the staff are amazing too. Every time I needed any help or even just to say hi, Jamila was always friendly and accommodating and genuinely asks how things are going. This gym has a very special place in my heart. After years, this gym still remains clean, and continues to have staff with amazing customer service. They're limiting capacity at this gym, but still remains empty. It's a pretty small gym, but can still get a great work out in. This gym was 5 stars back when Sean managed it, he is truly missed.. No towels on the weekends and they aren't restocked for 2-3 days, takes away one of the main perks of this gym. There's been a few occasions where ALL the disinfectant wipe dispensers were empty (and a lot of times several are empty). About half the lockers locks are broken or not working. New gym management doesn't seem to care about these small but important details. My bro and I started trying Berkeley AF so we'll see how that one compares... I signed up because of good reviews. I get to the gym and it's so stuffy. No fans or AC. It smells like BO. Only one station had wipes rest were empty. Don't go off the fake reviews. You'll notice management has them all write I have access to other gyms internationally. Verbatim the recent 5 star reviews all say that. Management how about you restock wipes and turn on air instead of telling guests what to write. read more

For the ANYTIME FITNESS at the complex. Every single other Anytime Fitness needs to be on this level. I've been a member for years and mannn this spot is the 1. It's relaxing and treated like a community gym and the people care about the pace for the most part. Bathrooms are always clean. Money is always in the jar to help pay for snacks and coffee for the gym dogs and all that. There is a couple brains who have never been in a fight before that love to use the punching bag and apparently want to perfect flying knees. I first became a member in 2016. I chose this gym because it was clean and Nate was very knowledgeable about fitness. The gym rules were strict and I like that. Wipe down equipment after use and no talking on your phones. Now there are never any wipes in the dispensers. Come on now! It's flu season and wipes are more important than ever. Sean had a similar vibe to Nate. Friendly always greeting patrons with a smile. It's not the same since he left. The one thing I loved most is the gym always smelled good. They use an oil that smelled great and made me want to workout longer. Well the last 2 months I have not smelled that oil. The gym smells like really bad body odor. Not only that the fans are never on. The air is thick and funky. I literally had to leave within 5 minutes. Management please turn on the fans and get that pleasant scented oil back as it was in 2016. read more

Hey Yal. About time I give some updated feedback. I've been a part of anytime fitness since early 2023. It was my first time getting back into the gym since my early twenties. I've never had such a smooth and pleasant experience. First and Foremost, the most obvious thing about anytime is that it doesn't feel like a big corporate gym with an assembly line of machines and employees who seem tired of the same thing day in and day out. It is a more personal experience when talking to an employee. The guests are nice as well. Of course you have the people who want to be left alone, as well as very friendly people. Neither who are weird or disrespectful though. Which leads to a comfortable experience for the customer. It truly is a fun getaway. It is 24hrs. If you're a night owl and want to go workout around only 3-5 people the option is there. Now the equipment. They have many machines. More than one option for peck flys. Several options to work on your lats and delts. Whether it be a machine or free weights such as dumbbells, barbells & a bench. You can manipulate it to what works best for you. Many many stair machines & treadmills. As well as a separate stretching room if you want to work out without being around people. People are good about time limits and sharing machines. 90% of the time if you're a newbie and need help from someone more experienced, they will answer your questions. These people become familiar faces which contributes to a pleasant experience. They have cleansing wipes close to every single workout area. All guests must wipe down their bench, barbells, grips, etc. Basically anything you sit on or grip. This is to not only clean bacteria but also something as simple as dead skin cells which is extremely overlooked at the big gyms & easy to get away with not doing so. Luxuries: They offer free water, fruit & snacks near the entrance. They have a vending machine if you need to get some quick carbs or protein in you before or after a workout. Water fountain with filtered water. You can access lockers and towels. There is 4 bathrooms with showers and scales to check your weight. All very clean. They have a tanning room & a hydro massage room for when you are done with your session. Or maybe you're just in pain at home. So you head over to anytime and get a massage. They have 3 TVs to watch (we all know that feeling of having to stare at something in between sets). They have light music in the background which believe it or not does a lot of you aren't the type to wear headphones. I don't like headphones because I like to be aware of my surroundings. There is an app that tells you how many guests are there, can be a digital access key & set up a personal workout plan. A very personal experience. You can sign up for a personal trainer and the whole 9 yards. Whether you're just a newbie or a bit older and need some guidance so that you learn correctly and don't hurt yourself. At the very least, regardless of age I recommend asking questions. Do not hurt yourself. It's about the reps and form. Not the weight you are lifting. Do not be afraid to start from the bottom. Every single solitary person inside the gym knows what it takes to step through the door. There will always be someone bigger or smaller than you. Lastly management.(I'm probably forgetting stuff). The manager Jamila is absolutely wonderful. I can't express enough how helpful she is. Her, as well as the other employees will put aside their tasks at hand and make time for you. Whether it be random questions while there or just talking with you for 30mins about anything fitness related. I promise you. Ask questions!!! It is good for the experienced wanting to change gyms but also the beginner. Hopefully this is pretty thorough for those who are interested but need a more detailed explanation without going on site. Nice gym, clean, but it's pretty small. Vibe isn't beginner friendly. Monthly fee is super high ($69/mo being the lowest with an 18 month commitment). You don't get much extra for that price, either - its 24/7 and they have some security equipment. Nothing else to make them worth more than the budget gyms nearby. I went because my insurance offers memberships for $28/mo. I was initially told there was a waiting list for that rate, but no timeframe for how long I'd be on the waiting list. When I toured the gym I was told they actually weren't accepting people with insurance coverage anymore. read more

Mid sized but perfect gym, it has everything you need to get a full body workout. You get a complimentary locker to put your things, towel service, Private shower & bathrooms. Does not get as busy as the other gyms nearby and as a result smells clean. It has locations all over the Bay Area you can access and even locations in other countries. I had the chance to put in a holiday weekend workout in this wonderful gym recently and absolutely loved the experience. The first thing I noticed was how clean it is - everything was pristine! The equipment are all in good working order and well maintained. And instead of open space cubbies for my personal belongings like other AF gyms, this one has lockers . The AC works great and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's just too bad I don't live in the neighborhood otherwise I'd be a very contented customer. read more

[second update] i figure i should update my review as i do come to this gym now occasionally. I did eventually join anytime but at the concord location since it was so difficult to get into Pinole. As concord is my home gym since i am in that area often for school/work, Pinole is closer to home. This gym and bathroom always clean!!! And i love that. On Mondays and Tuesday's they offer free healthy snacks and fruit which is nice. And I've even seen i think emergen-c or airborne available too. The only thing i don't feel comfortable with is that i feel like I'm constantly being watched while I'm working out. I don't know why as nothing has ever happened to me... it's just the vibe i get at this location. Also, the air freshener at the door is super strong that i hold my breathe when i walk in cause it kinda makes me nauseated but i understand that they do that cause obviously the gym can get an odor with all the sweating happening. BUT one time my boyfriend was working out and picked up some weights, used them and put them back where he found them then moved on. Sometime later a worker went up to him and pointed at those weights asking him to put them away. My boyfriend told him that's where he found them and wasn't aware that's not where they're suppose to be but can put them there if he wants him to. The worker apologized and said it's okay and that he'll just watch video again to see who put them there. That confrontation is awkward and can make people feel some type of way. Anyway, once you have your key fob, it's your personal gym! Come and leave whenever you please. This gym is definitely better than any 24 hour or planet fitness. read more

This will be a long winded review but I highly recommend you take the time to read it. (Picture is pre Covid) This has been one of my favorite gyms I've ever been too. Unfortunately I have to move to a new area so I can't workout here anymore. This gym has been great with working with Covid protocol but I don't want to get too much into the Covid stuff. This review is based more so on the gym and it's staff. However, I cannot state enough how great they've been about handling the Covid situation and maintaining a clean and safe workout environment. The staff has been the best I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Alana and Sean are great people and great trainers. They gave me so many insightful tips about lifting form, injury prevention, diet plans, and life advise. I felt a personal connection with these two and would consider them friends. They're extremely passionate about their work and take great care of the facilities and members. You're in great hands with these two. The gym is clean and smells fresh. Other gyms have a musty smell and feel humid, however this location is the cleanest in the Bay. The meme era are encouraged to clean after themselves and they all have the understanding to do so. The bathrooms have always been clean and the staff stays on top of them. The equipment looks brand new because the staff and members do a great job of taking care of the equipment. There is also a wide array of equipment to use including free weights, stationary machines, cables, yoga mats/balls, resistance bands, ample treadmills and bikes, and the little things like hammers, tires, ab rollers, bags, and blocks. Any issues with other members are handled discreetly and with professionalism. I had an issue with an aggressive member who was extremely confrontational. After alerting staff, the member was docile and avoided negative confrontation. Later on I never saw him again. Parking is easy to find and they have security cameras around the building. I never had a break in, unlike at other locations. There is also a vitamin store in the same lot that I would go to after a workout from time to time. The personal training was a lot of fun and Alana worked my butt off. I told her to work me out until I wanted to pass out, and to really push my limits. I also wanted to implement workouts that were foreign to me, and she had plenty. These workouts helped me work through injury, build muscle (especially my stabilizing muscles), and increase my stamina. If I move back to this location I will get another membership here. This is the only location I will ever go to in the bay. It's an experience unlike any other. Hopefully I can get through these last couple semesters of school and be back in this gym again! I highly recommend this gym to anyone who is looking for a new location! read more

New management is super strict. If you take your towel into the bathroom and they find out, they will charge you $25. But like what are we supposed to do if we need to go? We can't just leave the towel randomly on the gym floor. They also make sure to send members a lot of passive aggressive emails about fines and post these signs all over the gym. I got a call the other day because they thought I let someone trail me into the gym. My gym buddy and I (who also has a membership) got in trouble for quickly going in and out of the gym to check our weight they told me next time it happened I would be charged $200. Honestly they do a little too much and thinking of leaving soon. This is a great fitness facility to workout. The pluses: 1. You may literally go any time of day 2. The facility is well maintained and always clean 3. They have a great equipment for your use, and an system that allows you to pull up recorded exercise routines to do on in the studio~ on floor floor mats or spin bikes. 4. There is a snack machine, however the the staff frequently provides snacks and coffee for members to enjoy. 5. The restrooms and showers are well kept and clean for your use 6. After a free trial with Anytime fitness Pinole, I decided to join. Sean and Jamilla (the location staff) are both very friendly and professional. When the gym is staffed, they always make sure to greet you. Even with just a smile or wave from their office. The entire gym is always very well kept and tidy. The bathrooms are the cleanest that I have ever seen, especially at a gym. It is never overly crowded, that I have seen. They have a good amount of equipment for the gym's size. The studio is my favorite part, the mirrors help me watch my form on certain exercises and you can even use the projector screen and follow along with virtual classes/routines that they have. Overall, I have enjoyed my experience at Anytime Fitness Pinole and I hope to find another gym where I am moving to that meets their standards. read more
