Definitely one of the better anytimes! Nice selection of equipment & everything is very clean and organized

Went here for a while. Entire gym is a scam. Was billed several times in 1 month and when I asked as to why, was told it was because there was new equipment they were putting in there. My plan should have covered it all. Every time I tried to get in touch with Gym owner "Marc" he would either, decline/ignore my calls. It was an entire scam up until I finally got ahold of him. He ignored my calls for weeks on end, up until I decided to inform him the policies and make it known my family was going to join me as well. Then he answers within 2 minutes. I told him I'm buying out the contract. Which he then told me would be 999$. False, listed on the anytime fitness policies if you live 35 miles away you are able to buy out for a 50$ charge. When I went there, he proceeded to ask me "how much did I say it would be for you to cancel? 150?$ as to where I responded, "No, it's 50$". Yet another way for him to scam me. Then he proceeded to say he accidentally canceled my membership for next year, not this year. Needless to say, the gym manager himself is a scammer. Plenty of evidence people could use against him. Look out for more charges being added to your account weekly/ monthly. He's a false man, and just wants every penny he can find. If I could rate this a zero I would. BEWARE: UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO BE A MEMBER OF A GYM INDEFINITELY....DO NOT JOIN. Let me tell you my horrible experience which started 11 months ago. The owners of this gym, had a second location in Roberts. Roberts was my home gym where I loyally was a member for several years. Well back in March of 2016 we had a major floor in the area which damaged the Roberts location. The closed due to damages after the flood. I gave them time hoping they would repair the location and reopen. Months went by and the doors were still shut and nothing was happening. Meanwhile the company still charges my card. Since I wasn't using the gym I became annoyed that they were still charging my bank account. I started regularly stopping by the location and making call after call after call. No one ever answered. I had found the owners of the Roberts location. Owned a second gym. So I started calling over and over to cancel my contract. No one would ever answer. I decided to call my bank and deny future charges. Well they started sending me letters telling me I have to pay. I eventually spoke with someone not once but twice and explained the situation (I don't recall if it was the owner of corporate) and I was told it was canceled and the situation was resolved. That leads me to now. I have been put in collections for not paying. Yes that's right not paying for a membership I was not using and hadn't used since the flood. Mind you it is a month to month membership. I spoke to the collection agency and he told me ponchatoula was my home gym and I should have known to go there to cancel. I told him Roberts was my home gym and I couldn't cancel because NO ONE WAS EVER THERE!! He then told me that the only was it would show up that ponchatoula was my home gym was if I went there 5 times or more and used my key. The funny thing was I was never there once. NEVER! The owners transferred my membership without my knowledge to the second location so they would keep getting paid. THEN, they put me in collections because I didn't go to my "home gym" and cancel. This is a dishonest way to run a business and not a good way to treat a customer who was a member for several years. Yesterday I spoke with someone from ponchatoula and they told me they would look into it and call me back. Big surprise, no call back. So as of now I either have to pay or hurt my credit. One other thing I can do is tell my story. I have many friends that go to the ponchatoula location. Believe me I am going to let EVERYONE know about how they treat loyal members. Beware if you join you will not be able to cancel. They are supposed to have staff on hand from 12-6 but either they aren't there or don't answer the phone. I agree with the other review. The business practices are predatory and highly atypical. It's a decent clean basic gym as you can see on a tour. Beware though, my debit card was replaced by my bank and I forgot to update my payment information. The day my card was declined, instead of a courtesy call, I get a call from the billing/collection agency. I immediately updated my payment information but still got stuck with fees more than doubling my monthly payment. Needless to say I will not be renewing. I would also recommend not using the free weights as there are signs threatening stiff fees if you forget to rerack them. read more

I would like to share my personal experience about this location. I have been a member of anytime fitness for 1 year, and 5 months. I signed a 2 year contract and have been only mediocrity satisfied with this gym and its service. I am not an average gym goer. I am an NPC competitor, and a business owner of a nutrition and fitness coaching clinic in Baton Rouge. The Ponchatoula Location was a convenient location close to my home which is why I signed up with them. Around October 2017, I elected to add Tanning to my membership. After laying in the tanning bed for 3 weeks I got absolutely NO color. After calling several times to the location to ask about when the bulbs were last changed I got a text message from the owner, Tracy, in response. (what happened to a courtesy call???) Okay, I am a millennial so I wont be too hard on her for that, so I responded back through text since its pretty much impossible to see a warm body working that location. So she promised she would check on it... 2 weeks pass and she tells me, only after I asked again via text because still no one on premises in weeks, that she had her "guy" come and check on it and they were fine. Well not 3 days after that the light bulb digital picture was flashing to be changed on the bed. The alert was clearly saying it was NOT fine, and the face light quit coming on. SOOOO again I call, no answer, but I did get a text message, typical. So I told Tracy through text that it was out, and that she needed to get her "guy" back over there to look at it. Magically 6 days later the face light worked, but the rest of the bed still did not. I lost interest in tanning and quit doing it (not going to waste a $70 bottle of bronzing lotion for a bed that didn't work) So in January with all the cold and clouds I thought I would lay in it for some Vitamin D at least. My first thought was DO NOT turn it on for the full 15 minutes unless I wanted to come out as a burnt marshmallow, PAHHA I said to myself, "Sunny Side up tanned and burned more bodies than the actual sun itself did and this was no SUNNY SIDE UP." So I took my chances and laid in it for the full 15 minutes. NOT EVEN PINK, NADA, Nothing!! What, enough was enough? So I asked for a return on my money for the monthly price I had been paying. The owner, Tracy straight up told me that I had to call ABC financial group, the company that does the debits, because they were the ones who made that decision. I had told her that I already called them, and they told me that you make the ultimate decision as the business owner which makes all the sense in the world. I do not appreciate being lied to, and was literally on my last ounce of patience with her. Tracy's exact words were, "Figures, they always do that to me." My response was, "Well lets get them on the phone so we can duke it out." She said,"Absolutely not, I am not calling anyone." My response was, "Well then how am I going to get my money back?" She said, "Well if you sign this document I can make sure it cancels on your September 2018 renewal" as she pushed a document for me to sign. (SHE WAS TRYING TO FORCE ANOTHER CONTRACT ON ME to begin in September 2018) I said, I am not renewing my membership in September. So then I asked, "How much to straight up cancel everything effective today." She said 75% of the remainder of your contract which was almost $400. My jaw dropped. At this point its about the principle of it all. I told her nope you can draft me for the remainder of my contract at the $38.50 per month, or I can stop payment on the drafts and you can just come after me for the payments and receive $0. She did not budge on it so I walked. NOW I am telling everyone my personal experience and story about how they do business here. They also own the Hammond Anytime Fitness location. I believe that sometimes a mediocre business will thrive because of their personal skills, and customer service. This place is neither. Do yourself a favor, and find a different gym. Its literally the same 10 people all the time that I see in the gym. And 3 of them complain all the time about how they feel about this location and are just counting down the time until their contract is complete. Snap, and Ponchatoula Fitness stays packed every time I pass the parking lot. There really isn't very many members at this location at all. I honestly don't know how they are still open. They will eventually run threw the population here and they will not have a longevity to sustain their business at this location. Obviously, if there is not many members showing up at the ATF in Ponchatoula then they are going someplace else, and for good reason. Now i am on the look out to go find a better gym, and I can't wait. Have been wanting to leave this location after about 1 year. As I write this I cant help but see all the bad reviews with similar stories to the right of my computer. read more

Been to many locations around south LA and this is one of the best locations by far. More and newer equipment than most and tons of floor space. Clean and free coffee, for me that's hard to beat. Great service from staff and owner too. read more
