Unfortunately, we had to cancel his membership because the owner, Tory - a professional boxer - decided it would be ok to threaten to get in the ring with my son and "go a few rounds" with him. Good Day, Disclaimer I don't give 5 stars much, may write an updated review that may get a 5 star…read morebut typically keep it at 4 to allow "Greatness" to occur. So this is my first review of a gym, typically review restaurants which looking down at my waistline, this is where I need to be. I signed up via the website Dec 2021 and a few phone calls to the establishment to ask some simple questions relating to finances and membership pricing. I was provide the information, the representative that I spoke to was professional and was able to answer my question and articulate it in a manner in which I understood. Kept an eye on the progress of construction so it gave me a general idea when they will open. Got a nice card in the mail welcoming me, then I got a phone call to setup an initial tour and the onboarding process. Scheduled my appointment and showed up to a very sleek, clean facility. A couple of smiles and 1 employee opened the door for me, took my breathe away. As I stepped in the place was inviting, no blaring music and a little casual conversations going on. I can hear some go-getters getting some in one f the saunas. That's awesome because that will be me soon, hopefully no loud yelps of despair. I was helped by Monique (hope i spelt that correctly), what a wonderful lady. Very professional, clearly briefed me on the agenda then down to the nitty gritty of policies and a quick electronic signature of acceptance. After the paperwork, they gave me the keys to castle (trumpets sounding) actually I got the WiFi password which to some children is their lifeline. I was kindly introduced to another associate who was able to set up 2 phones apps, one to unlock the front door during un-attended hours and the other to book sessions, track calories, and develop a plan to take first place in the local eventually global leaderboard. What better way to meet your fitness goals than to have a fun challenge with like minded people. After the technology setup, i was given a tour of the facility. Going over the use of the sauna, location of the equipment based exercises and the none equipment rooms, restroom with shower and additional restroom, kettle bells and dumbbells, rack and a vending machine for snacks beverages and keys to towels should you forget one. So folks that wraps up my review of joining this Gym you may experience something else so go ahead an give it shot and make your own assessment of it. Prior to crossfit I was working out 3 days a week doing a boot camp workout, so when that ended and I decided to try crossfit I thought I was in semi good shape. Haha, what an eye opener. Yes , I had heard the CrossFit horror stories but was willing to give it a try. I started at a different gym and they were awesome and helped me to get going. That gym closed 2 years ago and I and many of the other members of our CrossFit family found Crossfit Full Bore South. This is such a great place! My crossfit family has grown with the coaches and members. This is such a great place. The coaches are amazing, they work with you, they never judge you if you can't do all of the moves in a workout. They work with you to help you do the best you can within your abilities. The goal is to be healthy and improve your life, not get injured and no longer be able to workout. I work out with men and women of all ages, (I could be the Mother of most of them)and there is never any competition to be better than you. Everyone supports each other. I do my best to go to CrossFit 4 times a week. The workouts are tough and there are times I think I just can't make it, but a put a goal in front of me and charge forward. It feels great when I complete my workout. Never doubt yourself, Crossfit is an attainable goal and the coaches, owners and members of #crossfitfullboresouth are the greatest. Thank you all.

Larger facility, better location, more space for activities, separate area for childcare (Though I'm not positive childcare is always provided - might want to call ahead for that) Still top-notch workout regime from a very attentive staff. ---- Original review: I've been coming to Levee Crossfit for a couple years now, so I may be slightly biased, but the classes here are absolutely top notch. Dain always comes up with a new Workout Of the Day, and what separates this Crossfit Box is the utilization of the levee at least once per week for workouts. In terms of the facility, it's a work in progress. Pretty small and not your typical gym, but that's pretty normal for a Crossfit box (gym). But there's normally a decent amount of great people, young and old, men and women, black and white, that you workout with, which can truly motivate you to do your best every rep, and keep you wanting to come back even through the pain of the work. If you're looking for a place to work out, especially if you're looking for something on the West side of the Mississippi River, I highly recommend Levee Crossfit. Remember that this is CrossFit place... but the equipment is in good conditions, and there's enough for the people in classes, they have a spacious room, so people can grab equipment and do whatever they have to. I have a GREAT recommendation based on my personal experience. I retired last August, and my…read moreyoungest son surprised me with a VERY special retirement gift -- private one-on-one YOGA lessons at DOWNTOWN YOGA in Hammond, LA, His goal was to assist me in gaining balance, confidence and "winding me down mentally" (meditation) following extensive back surgery for lumbar scoliosis at Vanderbilt, and a slip which required a second surgery at Baylor in Houston. I no longer knew how or had the confidence to get myself off the ground if I wanted to play floor games (jacks/puzzles/pick-up-sticks, etc) with my grandchildren; or even perform yard work afraid I would lose my balance while working in flower beds. It was downright embarrassing to be down and have to crawl to a couch or chair and the agony of getting myself up. I went to Cate Square and brought a picnic lunch, and realized I could not sit on the blanket to eat with my 4-year-old grandson, as I would not be able to get back up without crawling to a bench to pull myself up. With this surprise, my son personally drove in from Houston and brought me to meet Dr. Brenna Barzenick at DOWNTOWN YOGA. He had researched the area and then researched Dr. Barzenick's background. He was so amazed at her expertise, that he personally called her to explain my back issues to assure yoga could help me. Brenna provided me with an in-depth assessment/evaluation which included reviewing my X-rays which indicated where all the rods and screws were located -- my back is a mess (I lost 5" in height prior to having the 12-hour surgery, and endured the pain as long as I could. I was 64 when I had the surgery, - I did not have the normal curvature or even know I had lumbar scoliosis, until carrying a heavy bag in the airport 4 years prior to surgery and the pain just came out of the blue. I thought I had just pinched a nerve, but the pain was relentless. After seeing 5 neurosurgeons in New Orleans, none specializing in scoliosis surgery, I found one in Baton Rouge who focused on scoliosis. Unfortunately, he suggested I endure the pain, as the surgery was tough, and he just felt I looked too good at that time, explaining this surgery would "age me." I later realized that it does limit one's flexibility and ability to partake in the sports that you love, whether it be snow skiing, basketball, or just running around chasing and playing with your kiddos. I have now focused on the Elliptical, swimming, and best of all -- YOGA! Breanna assured me that she has the perfect teacher I needed for 1:1 classes (which I preferred, and my son insisted upon - Jo Ziller- a true life changer. I was nervous, had little confidence, and was very fearful of falling. I attended classes an hour each week for 9 months. I am still amazed at the difference I have made in becoming confident after gaining strength in my legs and arms, and actually seeing differences week to week. I am now able to more easily get into the positions necessary to get down on the ground and then lift myself up through correct yoga positioning! It's not an "overnight" fix, but Jo encouraged me, praised me, and I began to feel better and gain balance. Unfortunately, I needed two cataract surgeries and then retina surgery, thus had to sit out until released. My son just questioned why I had not started back yet, and said "Merry Christmas, as I am going to give you a Christmas present of 1:1 weekly lessons with Jo as I know you will continue to progress and keep you will feel younger, Mom!" NOW that is showing love -- he wants me around and to feel younger! If I can make a recommendation to anyone who is pondering what to give a parent, I suggest the same surprise -- yoga classes or one-on-one classes if needed like I did.-My son made it happen - I never would have thought I could take yoga classes. TREAT yourself to YOGA classes. I treated my sister to a group session (I had the confidence to attend with her) and was amazed at the number of people in the class who said they, too, had scoliosis. Many had not had surgery yet had improved their pain through commitment and dedication. Regardless, I am a believer - my doctors have confirmed that YOGA is one of the best exercises I could perform (one advising that he loved YOGA and took classes himself). to have the quality of yoga instructors here in Hammond USA, is phenomenal. Writing this missive was important to me, as if I can help just ONE person to improve with Yoga classes in Hammond, then I have given a gift of encouragement. Please know that this Senior Citizen is feeling so much more balanced and younger -- mentally and physically -- due to the wonderful team of instructors of Downtown Yoga.
