She is a knowledgable professional who is patient, kind, empathetic while still being firm and can push you to the limit if that is what you need. (She also has a great sense of humor which I find very important.) I am 51 years old and just started working out 2-3 years ago. Vanessa is much younger than me but never made me feel insecure about my own abilities. I knew weight training was just as important as cardio and Vanessa showed me good work out routines that I can use for years to come. She also spends time going over the routines in more than one session so you learn the proper way to do each exercise or if like me, doesn't always remember which machine I used before. Vanessa listens to your needs and if you have areas you want to focus on, she designs your routines to fit your need. She has varied experience and is an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer. Above all else, no matter your fitness level, Vanessa doesn't make you feel like you can't do something or make you feel bad about not taking care of yourself all those years (my guilt showing here obviously). If your goal is increased strength, tone, energy, better sleep, weight loss, breath capacity while doing chores or playing with your grandchildren, running a marathon, training for a sport, decreased blood pressure, prevalence of sickness, or medical issue symptoms, we will work together to accomplish your goals through training specialized just for you. Your program will be specific to your goals, needs, and abilities, and will work around any physical disability or medical implications you may have. You will learn lifelong skills, and take with you the knowledge and ability to maintain your healthy lifestyle. Your first session starts with a fitness assessment to determine where you are now so Vanessa can create the most effective program to reach your goals. Assessments include health history, goal setting, body fat measurements, circumference measurements, before pictures, strength testing, and cardiovascular testing. Every 4-6 weeks, your workout routine changes to increases in difficulty and skill level to keep your body guessing and progressing. This also allows you to master each strength exercise within each month with the proper form, so you will be able to perform each exercise again correctly in the future. Re-assessments are every 4 weeks to track your progress :)

    1. They said that I would have 6 free work outs before they even charge my card. They claimed that…read morethey would charge my card this coming next Friday after the first free work outs. They charged it right away after my 1st session. The requirement to put your card on file to "book your free sessions" was a red flag right away. 2. They said it would be $160 a month for unlimited work out sessions but I would get the 2nd month for free and there are no hidden fees. It actually ended up being $170. They said I had to sign the paper work right away to get this deal. 3. They require you purchase a heart monitor to take their classes. I thought that the heart monitor was just part of the class because the membership itself is expensive. No. They require you buy it. And it's $140. Or you can set up a payment plan and it's an extra $40 a month. This was not mentioned to me at all. The additional fees just keep building. I was going to cancel but I feel like I can't even use up my time left there because I'm not going to go buy a heart monitor or sign up for a monthly fee to pay for said heart monitor. Besides these factors, the coaches are wonderful. You work in small groups and they work hands on with you. It's a clean, friendly environment. Additionally, I love the idea of a heart monitor but charging $140 for one just to take the class truly is a hidden fee. When I asked gym staff how much it cost you could tell that she was hesitant to tell me the cost! Coaches are amazing- Gym staff seems to actually be full of sales representatives.

I did a ton of research when l started looking for a personal trainer and interviewed several trainers in person. While they were all great in their own right, Lenora stood out among the rest. She has a solid education backing her training up and truly approaches it in a holistic way, which was exactly what I was looking for. So far she has helped me greatly! We are working through some postural issues I have and she is really great during every session making sure we are doing the right exercises to help strengthen and balance my body and changing something if it isn't working. Lenora really knows her stuff. She also helps me out nutritionally and is very educated in this as well. She makes workouts fun, but also kicks your a$$. She is very good at helping you learn to push yourself and cheering you on the whole way. She finds out what really motivates you and utilizes that in your sessions. She's firm, yet gentle and nurturing at the same time. Basically, she is amazing. She is changing my body, mind and spirit....my whole life! I will be continuing to work with her for a while. I met Tyler through a friend of a friend who asked me to sign up with him so they could get a referral discount. I was wary of trying it out because I had my "cardio rat" routine down. I did my 45 min on the treadmill/elliptical/stair master, threw in a couple machine leg sets, and then called it a day. However, the first class I went to with Tyler, I was sold. The classes consist of a lot of conditioning and strength training workouts that use your body weight or kettle bells to kick your ass for 45 min. It's a full body workout and I always leave feeling satisfied that I truly got a workout in. Plus, you see results and continue to see results. I can do more reps faster, I can use heavier kettle bells, and I feel stronger. My bod is more toned than it's ever been and he's serious when he says he can help you "build a better butt." I go to his classes (T, Th, S, and Sun) as consistently as possible and also do a personal training session with him once a week. The personal training is great- it's a time to focus on what you want and try some new lifts, techniques, or workouts. I never considered lifting for strength before Tyler. I was worried I'd hurt myself or get some crazy big muscles. Instead, I'm toned out and have this new confidence in my strength as a female. I could barely squat 45 pounds properly when I started and now I'm squatting over 150 pounds! Long story short, I highly recommend TC Personal Fitness. Tyler is super motivating, encouraging, and extremely knowledgeable in what he does. He's approachable and I trust that he has my best fitness interests in mind.
