Another Brothers Auto Glass has replaced two of our windshields due to multiple chips and cracks from flinging rocks on these routes. After dealing with big name companies like Safelite for many years, I'm proud to say that this small business in Hobbs, NM, is not only responsive and friendly, but they got the jobs done right the first times. It's not the most noticeable building on Grimes, but what really matters is... + fast repairs/replacements + competitive prices + friendly service + quick communication + no issues whatsoever with dropoff, pickup, or the truck being there with locked tool boxes, etc. Perhaps they are not as fancy as the big guys, but their work thus far has been top notch with quality glass. Lol. This is what happens when you pay for a AAA membership, but live in a small town such as Hobbs, NM. You get some guy from Albuquerque or maybe Las Cruces who doesn't know anything about this side of the state & didn't read the messages I submitted through the app. I told him exactly what I wanted to happen and a tow was unnecessary since he seemed clueless. I hadn't even used my AAA membership since August 2019 but have been paying for it annually, so I was highly frustrated with this first rep. A few moments later - just as I was about to call and complain about the first rep - I got another call from a different AAA rep explaining he saw the order go through, but didn't understand why a tow was necessary and asked if I just wanted a jump. We both had a good chuckle because it was like the first guy didn't even read my message or listen to my request. Lea County Roadside was assigned to my case. Within less than 15 minutes of a separate call from LCR, Tyler was in front of my house with his tow truck. Very nice young man. He explained everything... He brought his fancy little jumper box up to my Jeep sitting in my garage. Took photos. Recorded my mileage. Snapped photos of my AAA card and my ID. (This is the usual process.) Clamped it. Told me to fire it up. Took 5 minutes. Jeep started up and I headed down the highway to Interstate Battery. I'm not sure how much they would charge on a normal basis for this type of service. Highly recommend LCR for jump starts!

The tire companies in Hobbs must be a tight-knit community, because they referred me to York Tire (their sign officially says Murdock-York Tire). It was less than 5 minutes drive down the road. As soon as I arrived, they waved me into their garage, took a look at what size I needed and got it. It took maybe 10-15 minutes to get it changed. While they were doing that, I went to the front office to settle the invoice. My tire was $90 - pretty standard for a new one. My visit was quick and it was pleasant! The guys were nice and easy to deal with. The front desk was pleasant and the office had a very intimate, homey atmosphere. You can tell they have been here for a while because it looked a little old interior wise, but with more time comes more experience! I recommend this place for your tires!

They don't tint car windows, though. The only other place I considered in and close to Hobbs was Sun Guard. I inquired about their services over the phone on a Wednesday and scheduled the earliest appointment which was a Friday first thing in the morning. I have a full-size sedan. Wanted the darkest tint I could get. Also wanted the brow on the windshield. My car was ready that afternoon at around 2:30. For $200 my car looks even cooler now and literally is cooler. The guys did a great job. If I had any problems with it peeling or fading, etc. I have a lifetime warranty on it. Real nice guy and straight shooter at the front. Vehicle required 2 minor parts that retail in a parts house would have been less than $80. And should only have taken less than 2 hours to install. They quoted over 4 hours with an estimated total of $997 before tax! When questioned about the outrageous estimate the owner came out of hiding and was a complete dbag. Condescending as hell and once he was pressed to guarantee his work his response was that he wasn't comfortable working on the vehicle. To which I responded I wasn't comfortable with his shop performing a $1000 hope and poke on my vehicle. The whole time the owner just chuckled when I asked if anyone had checked the ground on the fuel pump. He insisted that that's not how things are done. Paid $124 for a diagnostic that pulled the exact same codes I provided them when I showed up. Had the vehicle towed a second time to a garage about a mile away. Even though they were about to close they didn't hesitate to check the ground on the fuel pump and once they tightened it up the vehicle popped right off. No charge. I asked the new garage what it would cost to install the two parts master tech insisted I needed and was quoted $300 parts and tax included. I would rather set me vehicle on fire and buy a new one than to ever do business with master tech again. It was painfully obvious to me that attempting to taking advantage of travelers and out of towners seems to be an essential part of their business strategy. I wouldn't even trust them to check my oil let alone change it. Buyer beware!

He didn't think I was funny. LOL. I drove here on 6/23/2023 so he could go inside to check in and tell the service manager what he needed done. I thought we could just stay in the vehicle, but apparently not. I didn't see any signs, telling us exactly what to do. We arrived at ZK Express at around 10 AM. We waited maybe at most 5 minutes as all lanes where occupied. The entire process probably didn't even take a half hour. He declined to have his air filter replaced. The rest of the bill came out to about $93. If he had issues with their work, he would have told me but he made it back to Colorado just fine. The two employees that I interacted with while we sat in the SUV were very respectful and worked efficiently. Also, this is huge for me as my "second dad" and my ex-husband both used to work in car shops: theirs is fairly clean. Not messy or trashy. I drive my brother's full-sized diesel pickup often - at least 8 times a week. He recently got a full detail cleaning on it here - ZK Express did an excellent job getting rid of dog hair, kid prints, and junk food out of the cab. No clue what he paid, but it might be worth it every few months or so. Definitely putting this place on my list.
