I wasn't sure how serious he was, as this was his first time expressing interest. To test his commitment, I made a deal with him: if he could jump rope for 10 minutes straight, I would allow him to pursue boxing. Additionally, I told him he would need to pay for all the classes himself. Without hesitation, I watched him go to work. Within a week, he had learned how to jump rope for 10 min, and to my surprise, he spoke to the owner himself and paid for an entire year of classes with his hard-earned money. I was shocked, especially considering he had been working since he was young to save that money. Although I've never trained in a boxing gym myself, I've played sports and own a business, so I can recognize when a place is run efficiently. Fast forward six months, and my son, who could barely jump rope at the beginning, is not only learning how to box but is also building great habits that I hope he carries into adulthood. The gym offers a wide range of classes, catering to everyone from beginners to advanced boxers. Each session is focused on improving technique, which is something I really appreciate.
