Recently I had the opportunity to have my backyard landscaped by A.P. Excavation and Landscaping, a family-owned company that demonstrated professionalism throughout the project. From the first moment I met Angel, who conducted the initial estimate, I knew I had met quality. He showed up on time, provided me with design ideas, showed me samples, and provided me with photos of recent landscaping projects his company had completed. This was the start of a wonderful working relationship with Angel, his brothers Anthony and Sean, and his father, Paul, not to mention their numerous crew members who worked hard to turn my backyard of dirt and weeds into a work of art with gravel, rock, and flagstone. We had a really been through it with service providers. One disappointing experience after another. People don't respond in a timely fashion or they just don't show up. A P Excavation was superior and probably one of the best experiences we've ever had as homeowners and myself as a real estate agent. I didn't take a before picture but I have put up the after picture. I figured whoever did the job would be working on this project for at least a week. That's if they actually showed up and were on time. This crew got our job done in less than a day, and done well. We could not be more pleased. It makes me so happy to be able to get on yelp and write a positive review. If you have any kind of concrete or excavation project, I highly recommend the Reyes family and their crew. Everybody was really nice and respectful. They all cared about what they were doing and were proud of their work. I called Paul and made an appointment to come out and look at my landscape project. I texted him my address and phone number. Seconds later I saw that I made an error and got a digit wrong on my phone number and send a text correcting it. They did not show for appointment and when I called said they said had tried to contact me but my number was wrong. I made another appointment and they did not show up. I called and Paul said I can not believe we did this twice and offered to be at my house in 20 minutes. I declined his offer. read more

The good, the bad and the ugly. The good- these guys are fast, nice and a family owned and operated business. They do large excavation work great and they have the equipment to do it right. They created a large drainage path for water to keep it away from the house which was below grade. The bad- I didn't go over in detail everything I was expecting. I assumed having clean edges and no weed cloth showing was standard, but obviously not. Every transition area was sloppy and I have had to go back and dig up dirt so the weed cloth will lay down properly, add dirt and rock where they didn't fill in enough and pull back weed cloth and rock to remove protruding items. They accidentally damaged the new siding on the house and we told them they didn't have to replace it, just repair it. They said no worries that one of their guys would take care of it. The "guy" never came and one of the landscaping crew covered it with a corner guard and caulk. Sadly they did a TERRIBLE job and we will have to redo it. I did not go out and inspect it, because I was sick that day and I thought "how bad can it be." Once again, a lesson learned on my part. They also damaged my neighbor's sprinkler and didn't repair it after they said they would. They just covered it with sod. In the area between my neighbors driveway and ours, they did trenching for water flow and replaced all of the rock. They didn't level the area out at all and then just trenched around the edges and covered it with cloth and new rock. So my neighbors half is really high and mine is really low instead of it being level or having nice slope. I only discovered the trenching around the edges after the fact while having to pull back the rocks and weed cloth to remove dirt so the weed cloth would lay right. Finally, we paid them for an add-on job to remove a pea gravel walk and make it match the rock they had already brought in. However, they brought in rock that was a different size than the original and didn't bother to mention it. The ugly- I texted them multiple times and asked them to come back out and discuss the areas of concern. I was ignored for multiple texts and then I was stood up twice with no follow-up. In summary- if you hire these guys you better watch them closely and have inspections at each step of the job. I have never had a large job done like this and I will take full responsibility for not watching them more closely, but I really didn't think I needed to- I trusted them to do it right. They didn't and they wouldn't come back. Very disappointing because they are all very nice and we paid them well. read more

Paul and his team installed an 8,000 sq. ft. gravel parking lot / pull through for our horse property. TPaul was very responsive and the work took just over a day to complete. The surface of the lot was scrapped and the road base was installed, graded, and compacted. Then weed barrier was placed, followed by gravel. The completed project looks amazing and the price was competitive compared to other businesses! read more

The crew had matching uniforms and all the right gear to ensure no damage was done to themselves or the property during the project.
