Course was in great shape. Pace of play was perfect. Staff in the pro shop and restaurant were wonderful. Great experience. I'll be back

We have family who lives in this country club and a few of us were visiting for the holidays. We loved everything about this country club from the golf, staff in the pro shop, amazing community, conditions of the course, etc. the one thing that was BEYOND horrible was the service from your bartenders. The one bartender "mackie" was beyond rude, short and unprofessional it was almost enough for us to leave from eating. What is the point in having someone who is so miserable to be serving others if she doesn't want to be working? Being a server/bartender is customer service... at least fake a smile and act like you care to serve people. Sadly others around reported that this is totally par for her but some choose not to speak up. Hoping management sees this and has a chat about customer service skills as this community deserves to be served by someone who is eager to be kind especially around the holiday season. read more

This review is for the clubhouse only and not the golf course. I started coming here on Wednesdays and Saturdays for karaoke. They have it from 5pm to 8pm. The bar has their happy houe Monday through Saturday from 3pm to 6pm. They also have karaoke specials on many appetizers and entrees. So if you're into karaoke and happy hour specials, check it out on a Wednesday or Saturday. read more

I have lived in Mesa since 2001. This was the first time I played Apache Wells Country Club. Mostly at the encouragement of my friend that set up the golf outing, I and 2 others decided to give it a try. Now, I have no personal objection to this course but literally across the street is Longbow Golf Course and a few miles up the road is Red Mountain Ranch and Las Sendas golf courses. The course is offering summer rates and is a great value for Arizona golfers. We found the course to be in good shape with tee boxes and greens very clean and playable. We followed a 4 some that played very consistent pace and only had to wait a few minutes on par 3's. Apache Wells is located in North East Mesa off Mckellips between Recker and Higley. Easily accessed from the 202 Red Mountain Freeway, dont confuse this with Apache CREEK golf course on US 60 in Apache Junction. Its a touch shorter at 6000 yards from the tips, but very playable for all levels of golfers. Give this course a try. I think you'll enjoy the layout and course design. read more

We went just after over seeding so the greens and fairways were lush. Other than that it is flat desert and gravel. Does anyone think it is a good idea to bring gravel onto a golf course? Even looking at the bare spots in the grass you can tell there is gravel under the grass. If you don't mind knicking up your clubs hitting off gravel or hard packed desert for "rough" then this course is fine for you. I probably wont be back. read more

We often come here on Saturday nights for Karaoke with Deb and Roger. The Country Club is located in the Apache Wells 55+ community. They have a bar, several tables and tv's in the main area. The karaoke is located in the separate bigger area. During karaoke they have happy hour specials. $4 snack size bites, as well as daily specials. The service is good, and the food is okay. read more

This is for the Restaurant/ Bar area. I come here to enjoy the Karaoke nights with Deb and Roger. Never a disappointing time. The food and service for the most part is always very good. Deb and Roger, always a FunTime. May I add that one of my favorite servers is Maddie. She is always very pleasant and stays on top of her tables very nicely. read more

One of the hidden gems of the Valley! Great place to go for an afternoon round at a reasonable price.

I really enjoy this course. Desert and water landscape. Not to difficult for me as I am far from being a pro. The staff is really friendly. The only problem I have is I never see the beverage carts. You have to stick up from the gift shop because you are not allowed to bring your own and I think I've seen a beverage cart once in the 10 times I've played here. read more

This review is for the restaurant at Apache Wells. My wife and I have had breakfast and lunch at the new restaurant several times over the past couple of years. Value and service have always been very good to excellent. We decided to try their Friday night fish fry recently. We arrived about 6 p.m. About 1/3 of the tables were occupied. Over the next 40 minutes occupancy increased to about 40-50%. We were ignored for the first ten minutes after we were seated. There appeared to be only one waitress working, although we later realized there were a total of three. After finally giving our order, two beer and two fish, we waited another 35 minutes until our food was delivered. We watched the other occupied tables during this period and about half of those were only drinking, not eating. There were not that many people dining. We finally complained about the delay to the waitress and she said the kitchen was backed up due to "the crowd." What crowd? I asked. She told me that when she put our ticket it in it was at the end of a long line of tickets. I told her I had been watching and not that many people were eating. I suggested the long line of tickets was due to problems in the kitchen. She told me that wasn't true then argued with me that since it was a Friday night all nearby restaurants are behind, too. I chose not to argue back. When our plates finally came the french fries were hot but the fish pieces were luke warm. I could hold them in my hand without any discomfort at all. Our waitress offered to return them to the kitchen but we didn't want to wait another half hour. The fish was not even average in texture and taste. It's supposed to be cod, but who knows. Of the three pieces I could only eat one and took the others home hoping that reheating them would improve them. Wrong! One piece of fish was so tough I could barely chew it. I don't know if it was overcooked or old or what, but I just had the two pieces under the broiler for about 2-3 minutes a side. I definitely would not go back here for their fish fry. We had also tried their broasted chicken night and found the chicken to be underwhelming in quantity and quality. This restaurant may be okay for breakfast and lunch, but it is not at all worth our dinner dollars. read more

Ive been playing golf for seven years at apache wells golf course all year round. I was always pleased with the staff and the condition of the course. Spent alot of money on greens fees with foursomes every week. Up until recently everything was fine until the new management came in and changed alot of personal and policies as well as the price gouging they are currently doing to all there loyal customers. Rates were always less than $39 in peak season and that included tax. Now they want $50 plus tax..i played in their shotgun format for the last six weeks at $40 bucks and the field was empty and now they raise it even higher..i dont mind a business making money..especially on winter visitors but they should remain somewhat loyal to az residence who play their course all year long..looks like ill be playing elsewhere now..there is plenty of nice golf courses i can play for less..pissed off loyal customer. read more
