Our grandchild attended Fell Charter School for many years with many ups and downs regarding his…read morerelationship with his teachers. As a former teacher myself I realize that teachers teach differently-some can reach the student and some cannot. However, The constant irritation through our experience at Fell was the principal. She cared more for her reputation than the students and parents she was responsible for. As a former principal myself, I find she does not embrace the best practices for an administrator. The final straw came during his last year at Fell during the pandemic when most of the instruction was virtual. His teacher made many comments to him that were heard and would be considered bullying. The principal was informed of this but did nothing to help the situation. I would not recommend Fell Charter School to educate your child.

When I called and asked the principal about it she said there was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happening that day. They went so far as to have the driveway blocked off with teachers vehicles but she said it was because of the weather. The drivers picking the kids up described a very odd situation, not weather related at all. Parents were never informed about what happened and the principal basically said my children were imagining everything. I do not trust her and in searching found out that as of 2015 she didn't have her principal certification yet. Seriously research before sending your kids here. Something not above board going on.

The driver slammed on the brakes a half mile down the road. A 6 year old who was buckled, slid under the buckle and under the seat, hitting his head on the bar. ( mind you this bus has a aide who should have helped him secure the belt to begin with) neither the driver or the aide help this young boy up,and according to some of the student the driver said " did you get the message " or something similar. During the course of dropping kids off she continued to yell and curse at the kids. The school bus is not a weapon!! If the student were causing a disturbance... pull over! Do not intentionally try to inflict damage to them! At this point we have a downed stop sign, driver left the scene and scared and hurt some of our children! Not 1 parent was notified of this bus trip or at least the accident by any school or transportation personnel. Today is Tuesday and still not 1 parent was notified, no apologies given. No explanation. NOTHING! No update on the school bus video( I believe they will never show it and say they didn't have one or it wasn't working at the time) It seems the school is trying to pretend this didn't happen at all and parents are ridiculous for being concerned! Oh and this same driver showed up Monday morning to pick up those same children!!!! As far as I'm concerned... this school, principal, superintendent, driver, aide, head of transportation have all failed this community! These parents are entitled to know what is happening with their kids! It is an enormous breach of trust on the school! How dare you believe you owe these parents nothing!!
