Each of the three bedrooms have an on suite and they have plenty of room to walk around the beds etc, the only thing lacking was the wardrobe space 4 hangers and no draws? But lots of shelf spaces around the room to put folded up tops etc. the kitchen is fairly well equipped, hob, kettle, microwave, fridge, separate freezer and dishwasher. The pool area is spacious and clean, upstairs there is a great roof terrace and a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi is on a 3 hr heat up timer which is a little annoying when you want to go in it first thing, we were informed not to turn on the jets and bubbles together with the heat as it trips the electric. We found the electric to be an ongoing saga of tripping. The pool lights tripped the electrics and try as they might they couldn't get them to go, which was a little worrying as electricity and water army a good mix. We asked to be moved as we were not comfortable with the children in the pool If there's electrical problems. They moved us to the property next door we still had tripping electrics but we felt happier with the pool. I have to say that every time we had a problem maintenance men were at the door within 5 minutes so full marks for efficiency. All in all a great place to stay. You will either need a car or be happy to get a taxi which I might add is very cheap 3-4€ each way into town.

Pull out beds distinctly uncomfortable and not really suitable for anyone other than fairly young children as not particularly robust.

We ended up in an ocean facing junior suite that was also very close to the entrance to the pool area and buffet. PERFECTION. The suite: 1. The view was lovely. Gorgeous. 2. Comfy couch to sit on while my husband was napping or showering or doing his own thing. 3. Very comfy and HUGE bed with nice linens. 4. Bathroom shower was so wonderful and strong. We seriously took two to three showers a day (it might be because our current shower is awful). 5. Bathroom products were lovely. 6. High ceilings, great light, wonderful closets, etc. I can't think of a negative thing about the suite. Pool: There are three pools. One is for little kiddos. Very cute. As there weren't a lot of little ones around at this time it was quite quiet. The second is a larger pool which appeared to be slightly salty and colder than the third pool. Very refreshing after heating up in the sun. Third pool was cool but comfortable and a nice size. There were plenty of seating areas around the pool at this time, though I can imagine it could get packed at the height of the season. Breakfast buffet: Amazing choice. You can get omelettes cooked to your own specification or choose so many other types of meals. And free prosecco was flowing. Yes, I took advantage! I felt like I never ran out of a different sort of food to eat every day. Dinner: We chose not to go half-board, but did go to one of the dinner buffets. It was lovely. Like the breakfast buffet there was a huge amount of choice and the food was quite good. You did have to pay separately for wine (even if you were on the 'meal plan') from what I could tell, but the meal itself was not a bad price for what you got. We also went to one of the speciality restaurants, Las Columnas, which is the Spanish restaurant. We had the 8 course tasting menu. It was very special and I'd recommend it. The Spa: We spent a lot of time at the spa. You get to go for free once a day and we did. We spent a lot of time in the indoor pool where there are bubbling and spraying things that just relax your body and shoulders. There are saunas, hot tubs, etc. You can also arrange and pay for things such as massages & manicures. We both got a massage and it was one of the best we've had. Not inexpensive, but worth it (London prices for sure). The only downside to the entire place was the beach - not really meant as a place to swim, but it's good for relaxation. You can get a drink delivered to your chair, which is a nice touch. We choose instead to head south to other beaches via bike (though you could easily walk). So, there it is. My review. Go there. Definitely. Go. And relax!

The rooms are large and inviting, with a patio/balcony, comfortable beds, and large bathrooms. Everything is kept clean and tidy, and they have even tried to stop the Germans from reserving sun chairs. ;-) (Although it's working so-so since it's hard to enforce without angering guests. There is an international and an Italian restaurant which are always open, plus a snack bar with food. They also have an oriental and a Mexican restaurant, but those require advance reservations. I recommend making the reservations already at check in. The pools are nice, and the best part is an adult only pool for us who didn't bring ours. And the all inclusive beer and drinks are good. On the back side, the food is not very varied, and the evening entertainment is aimed for kids I recommend a visit to the nearby beaches. And don't rent a car from your tour operator, but rather use the one in the reception.

The Royal elite room have just been updated and they are nice, but I hear the standard rooms need some tlc. The public areas need some updating the Royal elite lounges both adult only and family, felt like an airport lounge. The food was good, enjoyed eating in the Royal elite restaurant more than the main restaurant or the fusion restaurant. There plenty of rules, signs about rules, but the staff never enforced them. We soon discovered, rules were there to be broken by the majority of the hotel.

The breakfast buffet is boring after a few days and I don't even bother with the main meal buffet which I find bland and unappetising. Servers in the breakfast room are polite and friendly but bar staff could not be less bothered. A request for an ice bucket will see you sent back to your room to call room service. There is no ice bucket in the room and no ice machine available to guests. The pools are nice places to hang out in the winter but from the end of May are surrounded by people on all inclusive package trips. The spa is lovely and I recommend their spa pass which you need to get on arrival. It's sold as a special offer and has been on all of my 9 visits here. Unfortunately there is a lack of spa etiquette with a lot of guests not showering before using the main pool on arrival or after using the sauna or steam bath. The staff are not interested in asking people to wash. Room servicing happens throughout the day, rarely (in my experience) in the morning, usually between 2pm and 5pm. There is a turndown service that happens within an hour of the room being made up. And as another reviewer has pointed out, there is no toilet brush available. I think the hotel awarded itself 5 stars. Unfortunately there is nowhere better around here... I just wish they would sort out there silly little issues

This area is a little more expensive than the main strip but worth it. It's a 10 min drive from the main strip and €7 in a taxi. The reason it's only getting 3 stars, 1: we booked as a young couple and got a family room in the family wing, with teddy bears and a tent in our room ( great for a family, mood killer for a romantic holiday), 2: when we asked to change the room the staff were rude and annoyed and they kept this attitude with us throughout the week! 3: the staff at the pool bar have no interest in working ( not just me loads of guests commented) 4: my boyfriend ended up in hospital and on the last day I rang to say that we might be late checking out because we were waiting to on the doctor, the person on the phone was not impressed and wanted us gone straight away, I asked to pay for late checkout and was told no. So great area nice hotel but staff are awful

As soon as we arrived we received a welcome drink and were promptly brought to our beautiful room. In the booking form they asked our reason for travel and as my partner and I were celebrating our fourth anniversary, I wrote it down. When we got to our room there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us with a note from the management wishing us a happy anniversary, it was lovely. Throughout the trip the front desk was accommodating--bringing us a corkscrew for a bottle of wine we brought back to drink on the balcony and quickly cleaning up glass when I clumsily dropped and broke a glass cup next to the bed. There is a huge breakfast buffet every morning which was pretty good with the usual components of eggs, bacon, and more free champagne if you're into that. The pool is absolutely stunning with many chairs around it for tanning and a little place to get food. It's a quick walk down to the marina which has tons of restaurants and then about another 15 minute walk along the water to get to the bigger town of playa blanca. What I really loved about this hotel was how close it was to activities while still being tranquil enough where you can hear the water while quietly sipping wine on the balcony. The fridge they supply is empty so you can go to the shop but also has an option for them to fill it for you if you want. The room also has tons of amenities including a candle, a reed diffuser, shoe cleaner and then the normal room amenities of shampoo and conditioner etc. The spa is lovely with a giant bubbling pool and a steam room and a sauna. If you book a treatment then you can go for free that day. There is a bar in the hotel which has activities including pool and even a piano singer one night who was great. Overall the only parts I didn't love were that there was no beach belonging to the hotel, and that the king bed is just two individually made beds pushed together (which I've now learned is actually the norm in the canaries). Ifyou have a car definitely take a day trip to Papagayo which is very close by. A great place to celebrate our anniversary and truly a relaxing experience.
