We found an apartment rental here online (Owners Direct), the owners were wonderful and super useful and helpful with everything.
The Apartments are set in a bay that is quieter than the bigger tourist spots which was great for us. If you want to be amongst the bars and clubs this might not be the best for you. There are a couple of bars and some restaurants just moments down the road with a Spar supermarket for everything you need. The Complex has a selection of swimming pools, one with a water slide (great fun). There is a restaurant on site but it was having a refit whilst we were there. There is a small pool bar by the top pool with plenty on offer too. Tennis, Squash available the mini golf has seen better days and is closed. There is an outdoor gym and a few bits of fitness equipment around the place if you are active. The system of lifts and slopes and steps can seem a little much at first but is fairly easy once you use it.
The mini mart in reception is useful and a great bakery here also which we used most days.
People are friendly and mostly appeared to be Spanish rather than tourists which was great.
Our apartment was a great space huge balcony where we spent most of our time. the property was well decorated and well equipped (cannot speak for all of them).
Parking was a minor issue on a couple of days and it is much more busy at weekends than on the weekdays.
The views are fantastic with nothing blocking the valley or the bay, you can see across to Amadores beach and the tops of Puerto Rico (next town over), the various party boats etc drift past throughout the day as do wandering jet skiers but overall a quiet setting with beautiful scenery. I enjoyed the sunrise most days and the sun sets behind the hill so the balconies are not in direct sunlight in the evening, which is a relief by that time for a cooler outdoor dinner.
Accessibility could be an issue for some as there are many slopes, steps and elevators if you are in a wheelchair it could be too tricky so check details with your provider.
You can take a short 5 min walk to the restaurants and shops, and on to the beach and Spa in a couple more mins. Plenty of beach but not a lot else in this bay, plenty of buses to nearby towns and attractions so even without a car i imagine you are not far from anything you want.
Great for couples and the older generation, maybe a quiet family holiday also, but 18-30's would probably want something more exciting and lively.
Would be very happy to stay here again if heading out that way. read more
