AWARENESS: While visiting my daughter a few ago and while driving in the Apex area, we decided to check out the Apex Cigar Lounge and I'm glad we did. NARRATIVE: The Apex Lounge sits at the corner and looks like someone's home from the outside. Once inside, you'll be greeted at the front desk and told about the lounge and how things work. Just behind the front desk is the humidor where they keep a large variety of smokes. Down the hall from the humidor are several smoking rooms with large TV's and plush leather chairs where you can relax and enjoy your smoke(s). Outside in the area of the lounge is a large, covered sitting area with another TV and lots of free roaming chickens keeping an eye on things. All in all, a very nice lounge to visit. SCENE: The Apex Cigar Lounge is located on North Salem Street just South of the 64 expressway. RECOMMENDATION(S): Worth a visit. read more

Do you love live chickens? Do you love snacks? Do you love these things while smoking cigars? If you answered yes to any of those questions then this is the place for you! This is the best cigar lounge that I have found in a triangle and I think I've been to most of them at this point. I can't remember what the membership fee is but I think it's something like $5. Make sure when you buy cigars they look you up in the computer as it will track your purchases and if you want to get a stick that you bought before but can't remember it, they can look it up and help you. The location is absolutely beautiful, the house turned into a cigar lounge, the property with big trees, small buildings, fire pits, and of course a chicken coop. All these things give Apex Cigar Lounge a unique flair and experience. You enter the house via a large deck which has smoking areas setup. Once inside the cashier and humidor are to your left. The humidor is huge too, tons and tons of cigars from many different countries. After you check in and buy your smokes you can head across the hallway to the main lounge which has really classy leather chairs with tons of cutters, lighters, and ashtrays around. The ventilation system here is pretty good pulling most of the smoke out without being loud or overpowering. If you walk past the lounge and cashier down the hallway you'll find a cubby hidden with four big chairs by the windows...this is my favorite spot but it's almost always occupied. Past this spot is the restroom and the door to outback where you'll find a couple tables under a covered patio and a TON of rocking chairs. The chairs are my favorite thing about the outside area, aside from the chickens. They have a couple huge industrial fans that blow air around during the hot summer. Past this patio you'll walk into the back yard where there are several fire pits and the chicken coop. Go say hi to the ladies! If you're lucky they'll even let you feed them some treats. Behind the coop is a secondary yard full of tables and more fire pits. You could have your own bbq back there if you wanted. You can BYOB but no liquor, just beer. They do have a few drinks on site for sale along with soda and water. The parking lot seems deceptively small but the main lot is full, keep driving back down the gravel road and there's a huge secondary lot. They have dedicated motorcycle parking but I often find cars parked here. Oh and I forgot to mention the snacks. You can bring your own but often they have several containers full of Costco bar snacks sitting in the lounge, things like chocolate pretzels, croutons, occasionally mixed nuts or candy. The crowd is a bit more civilized than some other cigar lounges, *cough *cough Afterburners *cough *cough. They also stick to their posted business hours and won't close on you if you walk in 45 minutes before closing on a Friday and the place is empty. They will let you smoke up until the last minute and in my experience past that time as well. Five stars all around! read more

I was glad to see that a cigar lounge was close to our hotel so I could grab a couple of cigars for the evening. It is a fairly large building with indoor and outdoor areas. The outdoor area was covered with a tent. The humidor is fairly large and has a wide variety of cigars. I usually smoke Perdomo but I did not find any in this humidor.. so i grabbed a couple other options. I was expected more interaction with the workers based on some many reviews that mentioned it. I walked in past the guy at the register, went into the humidor, looked around, grabbed some cigars and came out to the register. He came out from the back and said.. Will that be all? That was all the interaction I had with him. LOL. Funny to me based on how many of the reviews mention the warm welcome... but anyway... good selection of cigars and the humidity seemed controlled well. Lots of parking as well. read more

I received a gift certificate from this establishment for Christmas last year, I went to redeem it early last month and was told that their system has to be updated and to check back with them. A couple of weeks later I followed up and again was given the run around and now this past Saturday they are closed until further notice with a for sale sign out in front. So the person that gifted me the gift certificate is out $50!!! This is not good business practice not good at all and not fair. read more

The Apex Cigar Lounge is a wonderful place. The old farm house has a spacious indoor lounge, an "office area" with desks, a wrap around porch, and a nice covered outdoor patio with heaters and a very large TV. WiFi is available on the entire property. The staff is quite friendly and knowledgeable. The cigar selection is great. Came here from out of town and holy cow this place is amazing. Manny(please forgive me if I spelled his name wrong) showed me around the property. You don't have to be a member to come here! They have out door seating and amazing ventilation inside(so no smoke and your wife won't know you were "working late"). This should be the only place you go for cigars. Excellent cigar lounge conveniently located near the highway. Extremely good selection of sticks-running to hundreds of varieties and dozens of brands- ranging from classic favorites to boutique brands. There is also an extremely knowledgeable staff who are friendly and helpful. In addition, there is a selection of pipes, pipe tobacco and accessories that can only be matched in the area at Pipes by George. Aside from the incredible humidor, the lounge is amazing. About twenty leather club chairs, big screen TVs in a large and comfortable room that has a top of the line ventilation system. Even on Superbowl Sunday when they're packed with forty people, theres barely any smoke. There is also a beautiful patio and front porch for good weather smoking, and the lounge is a historic house located on a great piece of land. There are many events throughout the year, and a friendly group of regulars. Jeff (the owner) has really gone above and beyond. The small touches- from the art to the coffeebto the lockers for rent- all do a great job at making your time here exceptional. This is one of only a few lounges in the area. But not only is it the best in the triangle, I'd put it up with the best lounges in the state. Absolutely a mecca for any cigar or pipe smoker in the triangle. I have been a cigar smoker since the mid 90's. I have seen some great cigar shops/Lounges come and go. The last one I loved, but they went to a paid membership. One day while heading home from work I spotted Apex Cigar Lounge!!! Went in, bought a cigar, they gave me a full tour of the place. I bought one cigar and I got a full tour!!!! New Cigar Lounge located where Davis Drive meets 64 W on the left hand side. Decided to check based on a neighbors 411. It is in an Older home with a modest but well stocked humidor. Cigars are competitively priced and the selection is varied. We interacted with Ralph who was outgoing and knowledgeable. Purchased a Connecticut cut, medium bodied smoke, per Ralph's suggestion. Good smoke. The pias de resistance is the smoking lounge! At least 20 leather recliners, 5-6 flat screen tvs, and a brotherhood of cigar afficianados. This is a great Lounge. Cigar selection is impressive. Friendly lounge area has large comfy leather chairs and several TVs. Ventilation system looked state of the art. Staff was super helpful. You can bring your own bottle here too. Really nice brick patio with seating and tables out back. There were cigar lockers in the hallway so I assume you may be able to rent them. Went in today for some cigars. While in the humidor 2 customers entered this rather confined space without masks. I exited as far away from them as possible. At checkout the clerk while behind a partition has his mask down around his neck and one of the people who entered the humidor walked to the counter to use a cutter. Very disappointed in the attitude about Customer safety. I'll find my cigars elsewhere! read more
