This review is just to say this was amongst the best customer service I've recently experienced. Stopped by to get some butane for a lighter. I also needed some help with how to fill up my lighter (older model so was just different from what im used to). The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Showed me how to do it while explaining the details, and filled it up for me for free, all while having some friendly banter. Bought a can as well and it was very fairly priced. Just overall great experience. Now while I was there I did look around and though it is a smaller space, it appeared as if they had an incredible selection of cigars. I will say, due to my experience with the staff for this simple task, I would definitely go here in the future if ever in the need and would recommend. read more

This place is really awesome. I plan on coming here maybe 2-3 times per year. That's mostly due to membership cost which is the only thing bad about this business. Most of the other cigar lounges have a membership cost of $15/year....here it's $50 PER MONTH!! The perk is you get 10% off of SOME cigars, not even all of them as you'll see a bunch of signs in the humidor that says "no discount on these." I'm only a casual smoker maybe one cigar every month or two, so that would mean I would pay $100 for each time I used the lounge if I got a membership...just not worth it unless you're coming in a couple times a week. In addition to the highest membership cost I've come across, their cigar prices are a bit elevated too. They seem to be about 10-20% higher across the board versus other local shops, this is noted in the reviews over some others from when this was locally owned K&S. However, their selection of cigars is absolutely amazing. Best selection around the triangle. Closest place with as many varieties is going to be JR's down in Selma. They have another membership level that I think they said was $120/month. You get access to a special lounge that's the size of a tiny office located to the right as you come in. They only sell 12 of these and currently 7 of the spots are taken. Not sure why you'd want to sit in a smaller lounge but some people I guess like to show off how much money they spend. The regular lounge is pretty superb. It used to be a State Farm office but Cigar Box took it over after buying K&S. In the past two weeks they have opened a fully stocked bar. I was able to get a double shot of Buffalo Trace for $24 and my buddy got a Guinness for $10. Both pre-tip of course...and that's what's funny since the bar and the cigar shop both use the same POS system, when I checked out with my cigars it automatically asked if I wanted to add a 25% tip. I wonder how often someone just hits yes out of habit? There were probably 12 guys hanging out when we were there and there was no lingering smoke. So this is another thing they've gotten right, perfect ventilation system. At some lounges it feels like you're hotboxing yourself but not here, clear air. The furniture is nice and comfy and spread out throughout. Plus seating at the bar. They have a few fake fireplaces for ambiance and several TVs to watch events. Total capacity is probably around 30 comfortably if the ventilation system keeps up. They have a nice restroom in the lounge but when we used it the toilet ran continuously and the flush handle didn't work so hopefully they address that soon. So my recommendation is if you're going to buy a few cigars get at least $25 worth and use the lounge that day. If you're not going to use the lounge go somewhere else and save a few bucks on your sticks, Apex Cigar lounge is really close. Apex also has an outdoor area which is great in Spring and Fall weather when temps are mild. read more

I was next door waiting on someone getting their hair done and saw someone enjoying a smoke on the bench outside. Was curious and peeked in. Very nice staff and clean place with a plethora of options. Staff is very knowledgeable about different options and gave good suggestions. I'm not a smoke but occasionally am asked to pick up something. It's a small but well stocked place. Definitely would come here if in need. read more

This is now my go to spot when I'm in town. Their selection of cigars is on point, and I had a choice on more cigars I could smoke in a lifetime. Izzy, took care of me and showed me around the place. I have to admit this place is quite the surprise. A good surprise at that. I spotted it on Hwy 55 going towards Apex when out with a bud of mine riding around, in a shopping center that had lost its anchor (former Kroger) and other stores, but it still survives. I am glad it's still around, as it has this locally owned gem located within. K & S Cigars really has to be the best locally owned cigar shop in this area I've found thus far. A very sizable walk-in humidor, and a cornucopia of different brands and types to suit about anyone's tastes. I really was impressed. They did have one of my faves, Avo No. 2, but not the Avo Robusto. No problem, I had a empty tube of one with me and they said they would order it since they had the tube as reference now. Good customer service points. I even found a couple of others to try, too huge of a selection not to find something new to interest you. Competitive prices as well. They also have a very impressive array of accessories available, including a wide variety of humidors for the home. The staff/owners took their time to explain the ones I had interest in and were very helpful. There is also a small but very nice cigar lounge they have, with a few chairs, TV, etc. to enjoy one if you choose to. Nice plus, it's not expansive but a nice little place, since a lot of places don't have a lounge such as this one. Again, nice touch. Bottom line: With the huge selection in their walk-in humidor, great customer service attitude, and other pluses I've mentioned, I do give them my best of the locally owned shops I've seen around the Triangle area so far. read more

Came here to buy some cigars as a gift for my SO after reading some good reviews online. Of course, I know absolutely nothing about cigars. Not a problem! The cute little Asian lady behind the counter took me to the humidified room with the cigars and asked me a couple of questions. She presented me several options within my budget and I was done in less than 10 minutes! My SO loved the cigars and was incredibly suspicious that I hadn't talked to a cigar aficionado co-worker of ours as one of the cigars turned out to be one that guy had recommended to him a while ago. I went here because of Yelp reviews and my fellow reviewers did not disappoint. I needed a gift for my brother but know nothing about cigars. The lady working was so helpful and knowledgeable - I gave her my budget and she asked me questions to guide me as we together chose cigars he'd like. They even threw in a free cigar box for it. If you're into cigars, this place has a TON and has a separate room to smoke cigars. When I was there, several men were in there smoking cigars with some beers - great hangout area. I just moved to Cary and have visited 2 cigar shops. This place is fantastic! The cigars are premium, as advertised, and they have a very good selection. I haven't tried the lounge, but it looked very inviting and there were several customers ralaxing in it. I just had my first Kristoff Corojo Limitada, and I recommend it.
