I'll start out by saying I LOVE the PA I go to here for annual skin checks. She's amazing. However, I purchased a 4 pack micro needling package last winter (for almost $1300). The esthetician that was doing them was awesome. We did 3 treatments before summer, at which point we talked about waiting to finish the last treatment until after summer when I would be out of the sun. I recently called to schedule this appointment and they said the esthetician was no longer there and their policy was that these packages had to be used within 180 days of purchase. Not only was this never brought up when I discussed waiting until after summer, but the office couldn't do anything to compensate me for the lost appointment. 180 days isn't even long enough for someone with sensitive skin to get 4 micro needling appointments in with appropriate healing time between. I will not be going back here for esthetician work or for my normal dermatology appointments. read more

I went here myself and had a mole removed and it scarred very badly. As well as they didn't do a thorough exam. I have been to another dermatologist and this one gave a visual exam from about 4ft away My boyfriend went today and was told to arrive 30 mins early. He arrived at 2:30, appt at 3, wasn't even taken back till 4pm. We overheard the nurse outside the door to the doctor say "he's just a quick one he's super young" the doctor then came in and barely gave an exam then once he said his sister had melanoma removed the doctor responded with "oh" and then gave an actually thorough exam. He had concern and discomfort with. Couple of spots and a few were acknowledged while the others were ignored. I had many people recommend this place but I wouldn't ever recommend this place. read more

I love Apex Dermatology. My PA for my medical care is top notch! Thank you Emily for all of the great care you have provided over the years. I have met Gia as well, and she's also a great person.... The billing is another story. I pay out of pocket for Botox, and then they expect me to pay more after the fact, because they made a mistake. I don't pay charges after I have paid and left. No one should have to do that. Who would pay anywhere then expect to pay no matter how much more because of an error in billing. What will happen next time: I will give them ample chance to get my bill correct. Then I will get my receipt and consider it PAID IN FULL. Boooo for the invoicing. read more

I would NOT recommend apex. I specifically asked for a wellness check and was billed for medical appointment. The CNP only did a wellness check. Two phone calls have been made discussing this matter and no changes have been made. This is how companies like Apex can get money from patients. read more

AWFUL. 1. They have consistently had random extra trainees/students come in the room with them without asking - at one point my husband had 3 people in with him at a routine exam. No one asked if he was okay with students checking him in addition to the doctor. 2. They are not professional when it comes to mole removal in more private areas. Both my daughter and I had moles in areas below the waist that were irritating and needed removed. They did eventually remove mine but at my original appointment they refused to even look at it because I had had a baby 8 weeks prior - even tho I was fully healed and good to go down there. They made faces and seems to be "grossed out" by the thought of even checking it out so they made me come in for two additional appointments. My daughter had an appointment for a removal of hers. The provider notes she was concerned because my daughter is younger (1st grade) and she didn't want her to flinch with the needle. I let them know she had had injections to numb her lip due to a busted lip a year prior where two injections were needed straight into an open wound and she was able to handle it just fine. Provider said she'd see if she could get us in the next day so we could do numbing cream fist before the appointment. Then the provider disappeared never to return and the office manager came in to tell us they just couldn't do it and we needed to go to a pediatric dermatologist instead. No reason was provided other than she was young. I'm sorry...what? She's young and there is an irritating mole bothering her daily....she wanted the appointment, she wanted it gone. She literally cried when the manager walked out and I had to tell her they wouldn't do it.... Simply DISGUSTED with this location and won't be returning for any service in the future. read more

I go several times a year to an Apex Dermatology office to be checked for suspicious melanoma spots on my skin, and have done so for over 6 years. Occasionally they have to do a biopsy to determine if there is melanoma or not. Well, when I first started having this done by Apex at their office in Mayfield Height, the needles for numbing the skin were all to often easily felt. It made the office appointment unpleasant, and made it something that I would dread having to do. But Dr. Jackie Hollcraft and her assistants in the Canton office, have really perfected a way such that you really don't feel the needles for numbing the skin anymore. It makes the whole office experience much less unpleasant, and I still get checked for melanoma. You do need to look over your skin yourself on a regular basis, to see if any spots suddenly appear, or look irregular, and let the Apex doctor know about it when you go in for the full body check appointment. But I highly recommend the full body check; I used to spend 10 hours a day outside cutting grass when I was a teenager, and melanoma is starting to show up now. I also highly recommend the Canton office ever since they opened another facility close by; the wait times seem to have really shrunk down because of that. read more

Tri-County was bought out by Apex dermatology. My account was overpaid by $78 and now I can't get my money back. Melissa, the credit manager credited the wrong account and now tells me it's my problem And I got to try to get it back from my HSA. HSA has no record of wrong account being credited. They sent it to the wrong account unprofessional. Beware! Update: 06-21-2024. Now they will not respond to my Better Business Complaint. I dealt with the Public 35 years and this situation is unbelievable. Like I said beware! Just spoke to the billing manager, she would not give her name, rude and not helpful at all. Regarding care, received a text be there 15 min before appointment, appointment 8:00 AM. I was there, they do not open that early, door was locked, not open till 8:am. Then had to wait 20 minutes for my appointment after that. Poor office organization, what else will they screw up. read more

I was very disappointed and frustrated by my experience here. My first visit I waited about 40 minutes to be seen. I met with Emily who was nice enough though very brief and didn't really look very hard at my problematic area. She gave me a shampoo to try. A few weeks later I had a follow up appointment and waited over an hour to be seen. I saw Kendra, and I know she was covering someone's maternity leave (though I waited almost 40 minutes my first appointment to see Emily so I'm kind of figuring at this point it's normal for this office?) but this was ridiculous. The most frustrating thing, however, was that Kendra was going to look into having a compound cream made for me and then was supposed to contact me with pricing info and to see if it could be made. I never heard back about that. My copay is $100 which is a lot of money and I feel like this visit was a complete waste of my time and money. I was supposed to have another follow up appointment but ended up cancelling it b/c I never heard back so there was no point. 3 weeks after my appointment, after still not having heard anything, I called the office to talk to someone higher up about my experience. I had to leave a voicemail. I didn't hear anything for 2 MONTHS. Diana called me and said my complaint had *just* crossed her desk. Seriously??? We talked for a bit, most of it was just 'yes ma'am that shouldn't have happened', I asked if she could do something for me, she told me it was a reasonable request and that she'd get back to me in about a week or so. 3 weeks later, I still haven't heard back. This office is such a joke, you'll wait forever and it's literally impossible to get a return call within an appropriate timeframe. I was told that they had seen over 200 patients the previous day that I was there. This office is too busy and the patients just become a number. Save your time and money and go to Dermatologic Surgery Center off Fulton. They actually took the time to investigate my problem, they did a biopsy, and got me a diagnosis that Apex just threw a shampoo at and shrugged their shoulders when it didn't work. This condition if left untreated would have worsened to the point of becoming irreversible and I would have lost my hair. Thanks for nothing Apex. Please do yourself a favor and do not come here. read more

I recently saw Dr. Hollcroft at the Canton office. I have been coming for several years & have had several procedures done. At the last appointment she found a spot by my eyebrow & I showed her something on my shoulder. After she left the room I told the nurse she missed a spot on my nose. I think she needs to slow down & be more thorough. When she came back in, she had to treat that spot also. read more
