The crew did an excellent job removing the tree, and everyone was professional and friendly. Unfortunately, the equipment used during the removal severely damaged about half of our centipede lawn. John assured us that the damage would be taken care of. Later, he told us he was having trouble finding a landscaper, so I contacted two local landscaping companies myself. Both estimated the repairs at around $3,000. A few days later, John said he had found a landscaper at a much lower cost. The new sod was installed, but by the very next morning, most of it had already turned brown. It was also covered with tiny black frogs. We followed the watering instructions exactly as we were told. After eight days, approximately 90% of the sod is still brown and appears to be dead. John told us he paid about $1,300 for the landscaping and gave us $500 in cash for the work I've done trying to repair the yard myself. When I called him after a week to report how bad the lawn looked, he told me there was nothing else he could do. I believe Kari's Tree Service made a mistake by hiring the cheapest landscaper instead of one who would properly restore the yard. While the tree work itself was excellent and John was very pleasant to deal with initially, we're now left with what appears to be a mostly dead lawn and no resolution. I hope Kari's will reconsider and make this right, because their tree service deserves high marks, but their handling of the lawn restoration has been very disappointing.

The Kari team was on time, gave a fair price, and completed downing the trees in less than 3 hours with their equipment with no issues. The grounds were left better than I expected given the heavy pieces and equipment involved, and the tree remains were removed the next morning on time as promised. It's now the beginning…read moreof May, I was upset that I was not told that if they leave these huge mounds of wood shavings from the root grinding it would take years to decompose. They also should have only left what was necessary for the hole to be filled in and a bit for settling, not huge mounds that make the yard look like skiing humps. I called and was given promises week after week that they'd come and pick it up. I ended up handling it all myself, but when I did, I uncovered hidden under the shavings stumps are above ground level sticking out. Additionally, the diesel fuel that they spelt and were aware of and said that they'd come back and fix it along with the oil spill in my driveway from their truck. They never came back to eradicate the damages, so I was left to do my best to do it myself. In the meantime, I now have on a tarp under my carport dirt that was dug up and now remains a 4' round 4 foot deep hole in my front yard at the front door. I don't know if I even got all the contaminated soil out. They've been kindly notified of this, but it goes on deaf ears. So I tried to put a claim through their insurance company because they carry insurance and they themselves blocked it from going through because they didn't want to pay their deductible! So why the heck do you even have insurance? It's really quite a shame because they were very personable, fun, decent guys, so I thought. I'm really very disappointed in them.
