Update to our class experience - recently tried hosting a birthday party. For $300+ it's good value anywhere in the bay area for 15 kids with 2 coaches. The booking can be easily done online. Intake was very detailed and questions were answered carefully. They accommodated special start time and additional 15 minutes of gym time for only $50. I have older kids in my group which I think the open floor time is worth it. Kids get to choose what they want to do in addition to instructional coach time. Our groups are divided into two groups with different activities concurrently instead of being rushed from station to station. You do have to manage party lobby time and they made expectations clear. We did simple art projects while cutting cake, which is refrigerated by the gym. read more

We had a birthday party scheduled here and it was really hard to communicate with them the day of the party. Very stressful experience! They didn't open the door until the exact time of the party (3:30) meaning we entered with the guests at the same time. They took even more time to set up the gym floor than expected before the kids could go inside. Half of the time was free play time. I asked for 15min more gym floor time for 50$ charge which ended up being a free play time. 2 stars for the ladies who helped the kids have fun read more

Everyone is super friendly but the gym itself is very run down. The bathrooms are not cleaned regularly. A lot of the equipment has duct tape all over it. (Age5) I love seeing the older girls there really putting in the work. It's great to have that presence so that the little ones know what they can strive for. I was looking for a gymnastics class that would take my 2 year old son and 4 year old daughter at the same time - enter in Apex. I've had my daughter attend other gymnastic classes in the past that required me to assist her because of her age and DREADED it. I kinda felt like I was the one mostly tending to her instead of her teacher. I had low expectations for today's mommy and me class, but I was impressed with our teacher Ella. Although I was still responsible for making sure my kids were paying attention, Ella was hands-on and fully involved in getting the kids engaged and getting them to follow the obstacle course correctly. I found it very odd, but I am a 40 year old male so take it for what it's worth. Had a girls birthday party here for like 15 kids. Had some cool exercise gear and the kids seemed to really enjoy it. Looked clean but was a little HOT in there. The kept adjusting the AC but the back roll-up door was rolled all the way up?? The $25 extra for the balloon artist was just one of the people who worked there. Just made two different types of balloon animals and let the kids pick what they wants. That is what lost a star or two. LAME. Kids had fun so I will give it 3 stars. Will not be booking another party here though. read more

I am very surprised for such an interactive business this place doesn't have more reviews since it's been around for a few a while. This review is for private birthday party... and... brace yourself for my life's story. At least, within the last 4 months or so. I've been wanting to book a gymnastics place for my kids for a while now that helps parents burns their kid energy. My first choice was actually Airborne Gymnastics because I live in a bubble and that was the only place I knew from going to a previous party. However, they were booked and I needed this exact date due to travel reasons. Upon insane research (seriously I don't think I worked at all for two whole days), all the gymnastics venue in the bay area were either too expensive, didn't accommodate the large size of the party I was planning to have, too far, and lastly, had very un-ideal time frames that was cutting into my kids nap time (understandable, since all the workers are teaching class on weekends and by the time all the classes are done, it's mid afternoon so then these venues are open to public). Finally..I saw Apex on Yelp and my only concern was most of the party reviews have been from years ago so who knows how they are now. Here's my pre-party experience. - prices for package and per kid after were reasonable -generous amount of playtime - Front desk called me back in less than 24 hrs - place was large enough for big party but smaller than Airborne (which i realized i like better because kids, my son especially, can't wander off too far). - most importantly.. they had similar party time as other places, BUT were willing to give me the exact timeframe I wanted because my party was larger at first the front area and eating room area looked a little small but day of, they cleared it nicely and we had plenty of room. Other day ofs: - awesome/understanding coaches - helped me setup and cleanup and boy did I underestimate the amount of work/ time for my large party - clean restrooms - lots of chairs and I love the seating they have for the kids - small play area in the front was actually a hit for the smaller kids who still wanted playtime (but don't understand the play gym time was over) - at least 2-3 other things that they made exception for me but I refrain from posting to avoid setting a precedent since I want to respect their company policies and rules. the takeaway is.. they were very flexible and accommodating. Would recommend parties here for sure! onnnnnnllyyyy negative.. which I feel bad for even mentioning but I do think other people should be prepared for is the smell upon entering. I know it's a gym and of course it's not gonna smell like roses but.. let's just say the parents who are familiar with these places know it's normal but if you aren't then it's very noticeable. My two kids (6 and 2) just started going here after they moved into their new location (very close to us). It's great. Their equipment is really nice and the atmosphere is friendly. After taking my eldest to 2 different gyms before, this one is by far and away the best. We're looking forward to many more sessions to come! read more

My daughter was going to Apex gym for more then a year, till we moved. She loved it there! They have many different areas to practice on skills, bars, rings, bar so it's never boring. Tanya always look how the kids perform the exercise and corrects them, this is not done in some place and super important. There is also fun involved and they get to play at the end. There is very good bonding between the kids and the teachers. I have also been to seal birthday parties there and they are gat and fun for kids. Both Tanya and Olga are very professional teachers with strong gymnastics background and it makes a big difference. If I didn't move far I would continue there for sure. read more

I agree with Elena, this is a great place. My children love going to their classes, and we have just increased from one day to two a week. My son and daughter have attended since July and I have seen an improvement in their gross and fine motor skills as well as learning new gymnastics skills. The monthly night out is a great deal. The kids have a blast playing on all the equipment and go home ready for bed. This is a great work out that not only works the large muscle groups but places emphasis on fine motor skills as well. read more

We started my kids here and they seemed to like it. After the first year we were able to see a significant improvement in the strength, skill and muscles. This has continued into our second year. It helped my kids to listen better and be more dedicated to tasks. I am very impressed with the abilities of the staff to work with kids and their knowledge and skill in gymnastics. My daughter has been taking the 3 year old gymnastics class and she is loving it! The teacher is amazing and so patient. Every week the teacher runs around for a hour. Appreciate her energy. My daughter is learning so much. Only thing I would suggest is that management take care of the smell in the gym. Maybe some candles or air fresheners would help a lot. The place is really simple, just a big wherehouse with gym mats and equipment with an area where parents can sit and watch the class. My step daughter has been taking classes here for about 2 years. When we first signed up we loved Apex. Coach Ally is awesome and we really liked their summer camps. As of recent 1 coach has put a bad tastes in our mouths and for that we will be cancelling our membership here and taking our business elsewhere. Coach Diana has no compassion for children and she's very rude. We've taken it up with management and nothing has changed. My child is no longer happy and isn't having fun in class because she says her coach is mean. We've contemplated switching classes but no other times work with our schedules. My girls love this place.. They enjoy every class and their personnel is very friendly.. They do get busy during weekdays after 5pm.. Weekends are a bit better since class ratio is smaller. Classes are 45 minutes and they also have parent's night out every month (6pm-10pm).. Loving it! read more

After years of taking my daughter to the ballet and gymnastics classes at the Campbell Community Center, we wanted something to take her to the next level. I am not knocking the classes at CCC. They were great for her age at the time and the teachers were good with the kids. However, they were more for fun and social interaction with other kids. We were recommended to Apex by a friend who took their daughter there. We decided to give it a shot since they have a free introductory class. After the first class, my daughter "liked" it. Now after a few years, she LOVES it! The instructors are great with kids of all ages! Of course, the young kids aren't going to be doing any activities on the rings or pommel horse (hey, I watched American Anthem!), but they will be doing some fun exercises while getting them accustomed to being on the mat. As they gradually progress thru one of the many options in classes, they start to learn more and more what it takes to be a good gymnast. While I think it is important for kids to have fun while learning, I do think it is important for some structure. And Apex seems to think the same way. This isn't the movies. They're not going to slap their face or make them do 600 pushups if they don't get it right. But, they will properly guide them in being successful in whatever move they are trying to do. Now, for those with sons, I'm glad you didn't stop reading this review yet. Don't worry, they have classes for your boys, as well! Even if you're not looking to raise the next Mitch Gaylord or Kurt Thomas (I watched Gymkata, too!), the classes help keep their activity level up, including flexibility, which helps with other sports. As I mentioned, all the instructors are great! From Tatiana to Amy to Nikita to Oxsana (I will say, however, that Olga really stands out to me in regards to really teaching the kids to really do their best. She may seem to be really strict with them, but she is great and the kids seem to love her). There are also newer instructors who are also just as good like Janelle and Coach T. The prices for the different classes are extremely reasonable and there is a lot of flexibility in terms of schedules. They also do birthday parties and ALL the kids always seem to have a lot of fun at them! read more

I just had our first trial class here and I think it went well. Our 4yr son learned to forward roll after his first time here haha. Pretty cool! We will become members and see how he does over the next few weekends. But he certainly enjoyed himself and stated he wanted to come back again. The teachers seemed very good. I like the strict ones like Olga and Giana (I think her name was?) I think that makes sure kids are learning the correct way and at the same time learning discipline and form. Even at a young age. We just had our 6 year old twins' birthday party at Apex and it was WONDERFUL! The girls had so much fun and freedom to use all the equipment with the instructor right there. Tatyana was super friendly and encouraging to all- even drawing in the shy girls. The birthday room was decorated and clean. The best part was that there was little to no clean up needed afterwards! I am so glad we found this place! My 4 year-old daughter has been attending a class at Apex for three months now and she absolutely loves it. We both love it! Her coach provides her with a perfect balance of learning and fun. Everyday she wants to practice her new gymnastic skills she learned that week (bridge, forward rolls, backward rolls, bars, etc). I was here about two years ago on a field trip. We had a group of less than ten kids with special needs. They absolutely loved it! The place has different stations to do different things. Both instructors were very patient and willing to work extra hard with out kids. Our kids were a handful so I give them extra props for helping us while being there. There is also a huge playground next to the place so that's an extra plus. We went when they were barely opening this place. This is a great place for kids! My daughter is now 4 years old and she really likes going here and doing all the exercises. The chemistry between the teacher and the class is wonderful, kids get personal attention which helps them to learn and also to have fun. The place is not huge like other gyms and you always have only one class at a time, which gives the kids availability to focus and a sense of privacy. There is always fun activity in the end for the small kids like bounce house and they also get sticker or stamp in the end. read more

This place is great. What works for us is that parents are allowed to assist their kids past the usual cut off age of three. Typically, "mommy and me" classes stop when the child is three year old. Some kids require more parental guidance after that. The coaches, Tanya and Olga, are very personable, energetic, enthusiastic, and are very nice. Classes are small, so each student gets individual attention. The facility is new, bright, and clean. Parking is never a problem. read more
