From my research, I found more reasonable prices in the $350-$400 range. I spoke directly with the owner, who agreed to give me a $50 discount, but that discount was never applied. I ended up wasting even more time calling back and forth just to follow up over $50. Very disappointing experience. I would recommend getting multiple quotes and making sure any promised discount is documented before agreeing to the work. I used them because it was a referral and didn't think to question their prices until afterwards. Mistake made on my part for trying someone new and local.

I called Plumbing Express to investigate and resolve a water leak in my kitchen ceiling. The leak was directly below my master bathroom toilet, which my sister and I had already narrowed down by tapping on the kitchen ceiling downstairs while listening upstairs, where the sound was clearly strongest near the master bathroom toilet. The technician briefly inspected both bathrooms but focused on my sister's bathroom on the opposite side of the house after noticing a damp sponge under the toilet tank. My sister explained the sponge was there because she sprays and cleans the toilet regularly, not because of a leak. The plumber then cut open the kitchen ceiling drywall, stated the leak was coming from the water supply line from my sister's toilet, and performed a complete toilet tank rebuild for $450. After the repair, he gave me a card for a company that performs restorations and recommended I call them to inspect for subfloor damage. When that restoration company arrived, they immediately stated there was no way the ceiling leak could have originated from the secondary bathroom because of the location and no evidence of water stains. They recommended another plumber and a leak detection company come out to find the leak before they performed any work. I contacted a second plumber, who agreed the leak was much more likely connected to the master bathroom toilet directly above the leak area. Finally, I hired a leak detection company, and they also confirmed the leak aligned with the master bathroom location, not the secondary bathroom Plumbing Express repaired. At this point, three separate professionals have stated the leak could not have originated from the bathroom Plumbing Express serviced. I paid $450 for a repair that did not address the actual problem I originally called about. In Response to Ty G: Your response is totally incorrect. I would not have called the second plumber and the leak detection company if your recommended restoration company had not told me that the leak was not identified. The pictures taken are of the secondary bathroom not the master as we discussed in our phone call. It is totally "disingenuous" for you to now state that the master toilet was the issue. This validates everything I thought about your company. Others beware!

I called JK Plumbing last Friday. They had the technician give me a call - that same day - within…read moreminutes and the team (Shawn and Levi) said they would try to get out to me that same day. I was thrilled because - despite COVID19 concerns - we were expecting a few folks to come to town for the holiday weekend and having the guest shower in working order would be a blessing. And having the new faucet on the deck would make cleaning (before and after) much easier. Sadly, they weren't able to come by that same day - due to another client emergency - but they called that Monday and arrived within about 15 minutes of their call. They were friendly, courteous and appeared extremely knowledgeable. We talked about pets - Taco the Macaw sounds amazing and they also showered Gizmo with compliments - so I was super impressed and pleased with them. They told me that they needed to work up an estimate and if the parts came in - they should be able to do the job that same day. Told me to give them about an hour. That same day, the office called me, and left a vmail, asking for my email address so they could send me the quote - so emailed them back. After not hearing anything for 3 hours, I called the technicians. They explained that they had an emergency and wouldn't be able to get back out to me but they said they would call the office to see if they could dispatch someone else. I told them that I understood that they were busy and I would try to call the office myself. Unfortunately, when I called - I got the answering service. And I was advised that 'they must have closed early.' Note - when Theresa (sp?) emailed me later that evening, she said that they didn't close early - they have adjusted hours due to COVID19 - so the hours listed on Google, Yelp, voicemail, etc - are incorrect. Since that point - I exchanged emails and called the office (once again on Wednesday) to find out the status of the estimate / getting me scheduled. I spoke to 'Theresa' (sp?) and she informed me that she hadn't sent it to me because 'the guys hadn't sent it to her yet.' She went on to explain that it wasn't 'just them' and that she was having trouble "getting her estimates from all her guys." When I asked if she could give me an estimate / ballpark when I might hear from her - she told me quite bluntly 'I don't know - but you'll hear from me as soon as I know something.' In other words - don't call us - we'll call you. She sounded quite annoyed with me. I know I'm not an emergency client, nor am I a big-dollar / big-ticket, high-end job - but I'm proud of my home - and try to take care of. For that reason - I value skilled, courteous tradespeople. People with integrity and treat me as though they value me as a client. I'm especially disappointed at this situation - because Levi and Shawn and I discussed the fact that I've had several others (not plumbers, but handyman), come out, diagnose, give me an estimate and then just disappear. They assured me that would not be the case with them and that the job was very straightforward. I'm sure these guys are great - but my experience was lackluster. And before anyone PM's me about racism and finding a black or minority plumber - I don't think these guys don't value me because I'm black - I think they have developed a good reputation, making them highly sought after - so they don't prioritize small jobs like mine.
