I've had an account with APG for several years, STILL have not once been able to use the mobile banking app LMAO! It's such a joke and won't even let me register let alone use it. Then when I went to the bank in person with the issue they literally never even helped me fix that and wouldn't even try even tho someone told me I had to set up an appointment for it, which I TRIED to do and they never even set anything up with me, I tried to get the app to work for like 3 years, what a joke. I had an extremely disheartening experience at APGFCU, this past week. As an Indian customer, I expected professionalism and respect, but what I received was blatant racism. During my recent visit to their Edgewood Branch Office the staff treated me with open hostility, ignoring my requests and speaking condescendingly, while attending to non-Indian customers politely and efficiently. When I told them I would complain, I was told that their Compliance Department would close my account. It was clear that the discrimination was racially motivated. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable in any setting, let alone a bank where customer service should be top-notch. I have never felt so disrespected in a professional environment. I urge APGFCU to take immediate action and provide better training to its employees to foster a more inclusive atmosphere. I also recommend all government agencies to look into the Compliance Department at APGFCU for racism, as it is clear Indian accounts don't matter and can be closed at a whim. Until then, I cannot recommend this bank to anyone, especially to members of the Indian community. read more

Worst bank ever. They failed to send an updated debit card when the one I had was about to expire so they said the only option was to give me a new card with completely new account number.Then they couldn't get that card to work consistently. I had trouble with my cash apps, regular purchases etc I went to Havre de Grace branch for help and the young man working there had absolutely no clue what he was doing and behaved like he couldn't care less. He told me the only way to fix the situation was to give me yet another new card with another completely new account number. I'd been with APGFCU for over a decade, but that was the last straw for me. I got so frustrated I closed my account on the spot. read more

Poor service FOR ME. One-sided. Out-dated and non- equitable. Tried them for a couple of years and felt it wasn't worth a continued business relationship. I saw no difference being with them and the big bank I was with as well. It even took long to sit and close the account. read more

After 20 years in business together I find APGFCU a stressful financial institution to deal with. Yesterday morning, we requested that a wire for a vehicle payoff be sent. I told them time is of the essence because we are selling a vehicle. They charged us $25 for a wire transfer and did not send the wire. Beyond disappointing - especially when you can not get anyone at APGFCU on the phone. APG = a poor business partner. read more

II was pleased with APGFCU precovid but post covid they are incompetent and blundering. It takes hours to go through window service. I generally do all my banking online, but now when I try to sign in, I'm told that my account has been frozen. I have my password on my computer so I know I've been using the correct password. They refer me to customer service with an 800 number. When I dial it, I get a free offer for a medialert bracelet, then a free offer for roadside service,the next two times I dial, I'm told that its an unreachable number. The 5th time I dial, I'm told that it will be a 48 minute wait, but if I press 1, someone will call me back. I pressed 1, got cut off and no one called me back. I requested paper copies of bank statements and had to wait 6 weeks to get them. When it arrived, I got one statement, not the six I asked for. I had to go inside for notary service and everything I touched was disinfected immediately., They are happy to have my money, but not to provide service. I'm changing banks. read more

After being members since the 70's my wife and I are DONE with APGFCU ! Tried to get a simple auto loan (credit scores in the mid-800's.) Dealing with the loan department (after waiting on hold for 30+ minutes on several occasions), was a complete NIGHTMARE !! Never follows up as requested and when the check was FINALLY ready it was a completely wrong amount. Absolutely clueless and ZERO customer service. We will never use APGFCU again. I had APGFCU for 8 years. I was okay with them when my identity was stolen the 1st. The first time had to file a police report, etc. I didn't even know what eVOIP was. 2nd time the dot.com ID thief returned more than they stole. Then a third CloudNV, three times they stole $39, APGFCU only refunded me 2 months. They had my credit card #, too. After a month and 3 days of customer service saying, no you don't need it notarized, no we didn't receive it... took $39 out of my account. My cloud services are $0.99 from iTunes. Since I only got 2 months back, I planned to go to APGFCU to close my account. APGFCU can't get their information straight - notarized... not notarized... which is it? Their fraud protection is archaic. They sent me a letter saying did you pay$4,000 for my husband's funeral, but can't catch that the person's name on checks and the name on the account don't match. I just feel that is slap in the face to my recently Dead husband, too. Just rude, as I have been married for 10 years and changed my name in 2014. Don't keep them for any length of time or if your account info was stolen. You have to fill out a new member application to change your bank # even though you have an account already. Fraud protection takes a month "for them to investigate" Like really? Are you kidding me? read more

I had banked with APG for 16 years and financed a car thru them and was layed off from my job after 23 yrs so I had to file bankruptcy and once that happened they closed my checking account without yelling me. I opted to put the car in my bankruptcy after writing a rent check only to be told that it would be returned because they closed the acct without informing me. Fast forward to 2020 with the government issued stimulus check payouts, which went into that closed checking acct, I spoke with someone who informed me that they saw it pending and that it would be put into my savings acct since it was still open and to keep looking for it...so I did, now it has magically disappeared, no one sees it anymore. My conclusion is that they took or stole it because of the car loan that I included in my bankruptcy. Do not bank with them...even the representatives will mislead you. read more

I was local to the Forest Hill location and one Friday stopped by to attempt to deposit a check, they close at "6" at 5:50 I was walking up a employee ran over to the door and they closed and locked it in front of me then said "sorry about your luck" come back later". This place almost cost me a house because they can't do anything correctly. I started a wire transfer 30hrs prior to purchasing a new house out of state. I did everything I was told I had to do, nothing happened, called back that person said that was incorrect and I had to do that plus xyz, did all that and still nothing, Called back and the manager I spoke to sais all that I was told was incorrect and that I had to do more stuff. they finally got the money wired 12hrs after I had closed on the new house and was never given a answer as to why no one knew what to do or a apology for the incompetence and delay . When I went to close my accounts same deal, 3 different people 3 different excuses as to why nothing was happening. Manager told me the check would be overnighted when I demanded it because of the time it took to close the accounts due to the stupidity on their part. Guess what, bingo, check wasn't received the next day, called back and found out that it was not overnighted and given some speech about due to the check size it had to go somewhere else first to make sure it was a good check or something like that. When i asked why I wasn't told this the first time the guy just said "don't know, good question". i asked how long it would take before I would receive the check and same answer "good question, don't know". Absolutely piss poor customer care and just operating practices in general. The fraud department has the most F'd up hours and they shut your cards off whenever they feel and don't notify you, they rely on you to find out when your card is declined and you have to call them, heaven forbid it is after 5pm or on a weekend because you are screwed. I even told them I was moving and there would be activity out of state and I told them the area, still shut down my cards. You'd be better off letting the IRS scammers handle your money than these fools. How they are still a lending institution is beyond my comprehension. read more

My loan was approved through APG FCU "But" I am deployed in Afghanistan and the under writer refused to let my daughter use my Power of Attorney (POA). She stated "I can't use that because it is not from an attorney". I told her that I am in the military and have used this POA on numerous occasions. She REFUSED to listen or assist in the closing of the loan. I was an under writer for a Mortgage Company for 14 years so I know the regulations - she obviously does not. One would "Think" that Aberdeen being a military installation they would try to work with deployed veterans. Wells Fargo closed the loan in 48 hours :-) read more
