Ordered the grilled barramundi fish and calamari. We liked the calamari one better. Good seasoning. Basic decor. Remember to pay for ketchup first at the cashier if you want it with your chips.

Flake & chips were amazing! Nice and thick with a light crispy batter. Super fresh and melt in your mouth. Delicious!

Flake & chips were delicious! Thick piece of fresh fish with a light crispy batter. Very very nice.

Decent seafood, we liked the calamari but the hot water costs $2, the sauce also costs $1 each time We got 2 teas, I asked for more water and they said it's $2 per cup of hot water, which is ridiculous Obviously will never come back, you can get seafood at a better price and not pay $2 for hot water after already ordering tea. I think considering we bought a lot of food it's ridiculous to keep charging for hot water and sauce

Stopped here for lunch when we were in Apollo Bay for a tour.... great staff the FRESHEST seafood and good prices!!! I would come back! Portions are huge and the choice of sitting inside or outside is great too. Unsure of why the rating is so low. The washrooms are in the back and sooo clean!!!!! I highly recommend. Fast service too!!!!

Located at a seaside town on the Great Ocean Road (B100) about 2 hours and 30 minutes driving distance Westbound from Melbourne and about 90 minutes Eastbound from Port Campbell. I was driving around this town looking for a good place to eat and found a parking spot after an exciting morning visiting the Port Campbell National Park and driving along the Great Ocean Road. Coincidentally, it was right in front of this place. This place is run by a Greek family and also serves some Greek food as well. They offer Fish and Chips at a price as low as $9, but you could pay a few more dollars if you want to change the type of fish you want. After the first bite of my dish, I really liked the texture, it was not overly fried, but it was not overly soggy. The fish tasted very fresh, and I could tell that they really put in heaps of effort in preparing the fish before frying. The chips were also good, not too salty. Oh, the tartare sauce. Although they charge an extra $1.20, it is so worth it. Trust me. The flavour was so distinct, and I know for sure that I will not find tartare sauce that tasted so good when I come back to a plebeian New England seafood restaurant in the USA. It made a huge difference, and if I did not order it, I may have thought this place was just a regular but tasty Australian Fish and Chips shop. This place is at an excellent location. Although it is very far from Melbourne, this area is a nice escape from the cities. The beach is very close, and the countryside scenery is really nice. Overall, I think I had some of the best Fish and Chips not just in the state of Victoria, but also in Australia so far. I think if you don't get the tartare sauce, I think you're going to miss something out. If you don't like this type of sauce, it's still a worthwhile place to stop by for some fried or grilled seafood at an excellent location in Victoria and along the Great Ocean Road.

    Don't bother going

Worst service in a long time and I work in hospitality. Cold food, forgotten items and horrible service when we asked why - blaming your customer for a mucked up order isn't the way to handle it. Giving a 1 star is generous. Never again. Seafood by the pier (co-op) is a million trillions times better.

Food is not very appealing. Expensive for the quality. Muscles in a pot is very disappointing

After a long road trip or a day at the beach it's with great expectations that travellers swarm to such fine establishments. On arrival the venue was rather full. But a very simple, near naked, menu seemingly had people in and out in reasonable time. The prices here are rather steep but hungry holiday makers will pay near anything for a quick meal. This place was certainly winning on the quick side of service. Pity all joy and elation and a naughty meal stopped there. Having handed over our fine currency for two fish & chip combos I was horrified at what lay waiting in our boxes. The grilled fish looked as if it should have been kissed and released. So tiny. So petite. It was easily dwarfed by the battered fish. Which turned up looking more tan than a Jordy Shore girl, with as much depth and cultural understanding. It's heart was cold despite its superbly deep golden colouring. Our chips hid fried garlic and fresh rosemary. An interesting touch but not listed anywhere. Thankfully neither of us are currently Fodmap. In the end the seagulls sung their sweet song and enjoyed a fine feast.

Save your money, head to Charlies on East instead…read more This place SHOULD be the best venue in town, and visually I won't argue that from an outside perspective it is. A beautiful venue, perched on the Rivers edge with views and the furnishings inside are really nice. But unfortunately that's where it stops. Could your staff be any less competent? Walking into the restaurant, you are not greeted by anyone, it seems there's one poor lass running around taking orders on an ipad and the rest are crammed into the kitchen, and don't they look thrilled about it. There is no warmth in the hospitality and if you manage to catch the wait staff attention you will eventually find yourself seated. Let's be honest this place isn't cheap. But the venue is nice so as holiday goers you don't mind so much as it's part of the experience. I was there with 2 friends and we waited about 15 minutes until we managed to flag the ipad waiter down and we were told we could order our meals at the bar as they were "busier than normal" which was surprising as there were only about 15-20 people in the restaurant. We went to the bar, ordered our meals and ordered wine. And ladies, if you like your wine, save your money for the drive thru on the way home. I'm sorry Wharf management but charging $10 plus for a glass of wine and dispensing less than half your tiny fancy wine glasses didn't make us girls feel much like staying, although being as hungry as we were we waited. And wait we did, about 45 minutes in total for our meals to arrive and here's the breakdown. Risotto: gluggy, watered down and frankly lacking any sort of real flavour. My friend didn't finish it and couldn't even drown her sorrows with wine as after two mouthfuls it was gone, unlike the risotto. Fish and Chips x2 : for a venue who recommended this as the most popular, 2 of us were left so disappointed, the batter is foul and the fish small. Batter wasn't cooked properly and fish on the inside was cold. The chips were fine, but not great and had some kind of seasoning on them? But any old fish and chip shop would do better. We sat there considering how much money we had just handed over and how hungry and disappointed we still were. No one bothered to come and clear our plates, ask us how our meals were or check to see if we wanted to order more drinks. The customer services in non existent and the staff seem miserable and lost, like wandering baby deer in the night. As girls who visit this beautiful little town often, this has to be the most disappointed we've been in terms of eating out. Do yourselves a favour, if you're wanting good fish and chips, the one across from the caravan park is the place to go, leave the fancy décor at the Wharf for what it is, pretty but bland AF. With so many good eats around this town, it doesn't look like the wharf will survive much past this summer unless the seriously get their shit together, start with service, happy chefs and improve their food, wine dispensing and get some better vibes going.
