Sylvan has increased our son's confidence in school and has reduced my frustration and stress with my son in academics. I can't give a honest review but in 6 months I think I can expect results. My son is enjoying the learn style and Tutors and that is super important. A child needs to be happy to excel. The journey has been short. But will update result and reflections on program. One plus point is that sylvan reaches out to child teacher to make sure needs are being met. I give it a 5 star as I'm happy and needs are being met. I shall update my review if needed. Currently, my daughter is attending and loves it. Because of the pandemic and having to have the children virtually learn, it has been difficult on my very social daughter to keep up. In just a few weeks of attending, we have noticed a huge difference with her attitude towards learning. If you are thinking about enrolling your child, DO IT. It's SO important to invest in your child's education, especially during the younger years. The director Anu is SO AWESOME and will be truly supportive of your needs. I also want to add that one of the main reasons I chose Sylvan was their communication with your child's teacher. They check in with your child's regular school teacher to ensure what they are learning at school is connected to what they practice at Sylvan. We love being a Sylvan family and look forward to our daughter living up to her full potential!

Strange that there are no reviews. I wonder if she threatened other people with legal action if…read morethey left a review, like she did with me. This review is for Desiree Camarda. I contacted her in SPRING 2022. I retained her for specific tasks she said were in her expertise and entirely achievable: evaluate my son's math and language skills and be prepared to appear at IEP in August 2022 at start of school to represent those issues. And going forward after that provide academic therapy in math and language to remediate and keep up with the fifth grade curriculum. Having been involved in IEP process for years, I knew what was needed, planned ahead, asked for a written report and test results, and had plenty of time -- it should have been no issue. She failed to meet our August 2022 deadline in any way. She withheld one bit of information from us: she was going to take a job in a school district and leave 100% private practice that she had been. This was sprung on us when we were already into this process with her and didn't have time to retain anyone else. Her availability was severely limited from what was represented to us at the start and she either didn't plan ahead or didn't have the time to get our tasks done, but kept stringing us along. I became increasingly concerned when we had two hour-long conversations over the summer about the EXACT same thing - reiterating to her over and over what we needed and when, essentially why we had hired her. She was out and about during the call, doing other things, and felt as if she did not write anything down and was not on a path to provide what she continued to agree she could achieve, even into June and July. We were already deep into paying for sessions so I continued and reminded her repeatedly what we agreed on achieving by August 17 start of school. She was supposed have objective test results and write a report we could use with the school district. By August 2022 I had not even seen a draft. She kept claiming it was one more session needed and would be done with testing. Week after week, one more session needed... then one more session needed... then one more session needed to complete testing. She canceled sessions. She closed her office for a week or two. She moved her office. She closed in order to set up her school office. She canceled on us for other kids' needs, school demands and other things. Our school year started with no report. I had to set an IEP date and although she had said she had flexibility and would be available for IEP meetings, she ended up not being flexible at all. The entire large IEP team was ready to meet before Labor Day - all of us except Desiree. Due directly to HER unavailability (and my continuing hope that we'd get an actual report and IEP help from her after all our sunk costs), we had to push a first IEP meeting until OCTOBER, two months into the school year!! On the eve of the first IEP meeting, still no report and no test results. I fired her. Only then (!!) did she send me an unsigned, casual looking, one page "results" sheet that contained some statistics indicating my son had serious needs in some areas. This was the type of information we had needed months prior, but in a useable way and presented by a knowledgeable academic therapist. Why send this after being terminated and not before? I don't know as I sit here, if the numbers were real, made up, or what, but no results were provided to me while she was retained, despite asking over and over for them. So, I asked if she'd present those results at the IEP as the one page report was unuseable without the person who created it presenting and explaining it. She ignored my request until the day AFTER the IEP meeting (she knew the date) when she demanded payment for her work on a phantom report we'd never seen! I'm so angry. She took a lot of money from us and provided nothing we had discussed and then maliciously sent a one page report indicating my son needed a lot in his IEP then purposely waited until after the IEP to respond to try to get more money. I asked for a refund of everything we paid her, she said no of course. Watch out for people with zero reviews, and who threaten legal action if you post a review on Yelp. Oh, one more thing. Beware also if your kid does not understand sarcasm and teasing because that's how she communicated with mine. She did not demonstrate an understanding of our kind of special needs at all despite saying she had experience, and I observed her teasing my son that she'd make him sleep overnight in her office which he thought was completely real and frightened him. He gave her lots of chances because he's an open-hearted kid, but was relieved not to go back.

When I first met with him after taking a diagnostic SAT, he walked me through the different SAT summer camp options, and told me what he thought would be best for me based off of my score and specific question types I initially missed. I left that meeting with a clear understanding what needed to be done over the summer in order for me to succeed. I enrolled in the SAT intensive bootcamp and improved my score by 120 points thanks to the amazing educators at this institution. I genuinely could not have achieved this without their help. The classes are incredibly engaging, and I learned so many strategies that I can apply to daily academic habits beyond the SAT. Since then, I have been actively participating in tutoring lessons with Jesse for precalculus. He's really good at breaking down math into understandable concepts, and that's what truly helped me build confidence in order to succeed in school. I highly recommend Elite Prep Fremont to any students looking to improve their SAT scores in a welcoming environment, or anyone in need of private tutoring.

As I prepare to make a transition to college, I can look back and understand how much of a contribution Elite and Jesse, in particular, have had in creating opportunities for me. My journey with Elite started in the early part of my freshman year at high school. Like most Asian families, my parents and I went to meet Jesse for the first time with ideas that only included lofty college brands, perfect GPAs and the most impacted majors. It took Jesse only one meeting to make me understand that I can do myself the best service by focusing on my studies with right time management, practice, doing due diligence to all my work, and asking for help whenever needed. During every college counseling meeting, Jesse always encouraged me, and even during times when my grades had dropped, he kept my spirits high. These four years, Jesse worked with our family like a team, providing valuable information, setting up course plans, summer programs, extra-curriculars, and helping me to maintain my school track records in spreadsheets. His dedication to help his students is exemplary. He is so invested in helping his students that he always loses track of time unless reminded by the front desk. I am also pleasantly surprised by the amount of patience he has as he will answer all questions (and sometimes my parents had a lot) without being dismissive. When it came time for college applications, I don't think I could have done so well without the help from Elite. Jesse took all the time to review and shortlist my Activities list, Awards and Honors, and of course my essays. I worked with Jesse through multiple rounds of reviewing before he gave me the greenlight. He also reviewed my entire application to make sure there were no errors. I cannot express the amount of work that I got to put with the Elite team to make my college application really strong. Even with a few blemishes in my grades, I still got admitted to 16 excellent universities, of which 6 were UCs. I got into both computer science and data science. In the end, it was a bit of a challenge to decide, but I am going to UC Berkeley. Without a doubt, my parents and the Elite team have immensely helped me through this phase. This may seem a bit out of order, but I wanted to cover my college application experience and the final outcome first. But I think my review will be incomplete if I don't mention Jesse as a tutor. Jesse was my math tutor in 10th and 11th grade. My school, Irvington High School, has a reputation of being intense at math. Apart from being a really excellent math tutor, I have always wondered how Jesse never gets stumped by any super difficult math problem. Last but not least, I am really thankful to the entire Elite team that I got the opportunity to work with. Chelsea was so much on top of everything giving me reminders if I am falling behind on any for-credit course. She is so well organized and really helped me to stay on track on a number of occasions. I worked with Joon as my essay coach, and he is definitely an expert of essay writing. It is difficult to satisfy him with the essay, but in the end when it all takes shape, you can only see how valuable his critique was. In the end, I became a much better writer.

Secondly, this place has plenty of parking spaces all around, so you never have to hurry or worry about space on top of the upcoming exam. Lastly, I have been here twice so far, and the people have always been very nice and cordial. They set up your test environment correctly, and off you go. Overall, I am satisfied with this location's amenity and their honest administration of the exams.
