When she left the hospital, she was given a year to live by her hospitalist and we had her for that time, and a bit more. Visiting Angels was able to meet her care at every level: transitional care when we brought her home from the hospital, medication management and home nursing visits, care in shifts then live-in help, and finally, assistance with hospice care. At every level they were able to pivot and that enabled our mother to be in her home until the end, which was her dearest wish. The care givers were warm and capable and the nursing staff, her nurse in particular, Matt, went above and beyond every single time in meeting her needs and making her feel comfortable. I can't say enough good things about our time with Visiting Angels.

The training is virtually limitless. The owner of the company talks about longevity and helping staff grow in their careers. The best part is having the freedom and ability to do positive therapy at the office and in the community! I get to actually make a real difference in the lives of the Individuals and families that I serve!!! I get to be person centered and work with people of all ages (who have mental health care needs, depression, anxiety, Autism, substance use issues, behavioral and developmental issues and quality of life issues). My family specifically went with Senior Helpers because of Steve's assurances that he was "more than adequately" staffed to ensure the kind of coverage we sought for my mom. We already had experience with other PCA companies and were specifically seeking out a company whose staffing capacity would ensure my mother and her caregiver would be a good interpersonal fit. Unfortunately, Senior Helpers failed miserably and stated they could no longer provide care to my mother after a few short weeks due to staffing shortages. During the 3 weeks Senior Helpers attempted to be helpful my mother had 5 different caregivers. Consider a new business name--Senior Unhelpful or Senior Understaffed Helpers.

Steve responded with very short notice on two different occasions when we needed help with our…read moreparents. On one occasion my mom got driven to a doctors appointment and got help with some other tasks around the house. The second time we called, Steve responded quickly and was able to match my father with a wonderful caregiver who came twice a week. Both times, the caregivers were pleasant and attentive. Steve also set up a new AI app in my parents appartment which senses unusual activity. It detected a fall in the middle of the night, and Steve got help to my father immediately. I would recommend Senior Helpers!
