The people who do the work have to be smart to be able to troubleshoot very complex problems that arise when plastic plumbing and lots of electronic controls are all underground! But they also have to be able to work with their hands to build things, both out of plumbing and electrical hookups. And they have to understand the ever-changing product offerings. Typically I'll work with a sprinkler company as long as they have a very smart guy to do my work; then when they fall off, I start the search for another. I had a problem when I installed a Rachio controller myself; I didn't follow the advice to take a picture of the wiring of the old controller. Then I found that my old controller hadn't been wired conventionally, and I had a devil of a time trying to get it working. So I called my sprinkler guy, who worked all day on it and finally got one zone working. Just one, after working all day! I found Capital, and Dave Fullerton, from Angie's List. He came out, and in four hours had the whole thing working, found a troublesome leak in the system, and made a couple of repairs also. Compared with the average person in this business, he's a true Superman. I recommend that you call Capital for your irrigation system needs. Without reservation. (Aqua Bright didn't apologize about the wrong date when shown the original email with the original date--sent by them!--instead repeatedly calling it a "miscommunication," and claiming that they had sent updates using the incorrect date and so I guess expected me to pivot to the wrong date. I guess the idea is that by compounding their error it was my job to notice their. Instead of making it right, they offered a new date in almost 3 weeks, when I am out of town for work and at a time that is far too late for my new plants to survive. And this mess of an appointment was a reschedule from an earlier appointment, when the tech (who is himself a competent and kind technician) also didn't know what he was being sent for, so it was a total waste of a visit, made especially frustrating AFTER having spent a week or so finding a date when the landscape service and the irrigation tech could both be on site at the same time.

Most recently Cass and Nathan were here to install a wireless rain detection device. While on site, they adjusted spray head coverage as we requested, and installed a special back-flow valve to prevent a downhill spray head from draining the uphill line into unwanted puddles. For context, Hydro Tech installed my irrigation system roughly 6 years ago and I have used their Winterization Service annually at my residence. I went to schedule online, as I have done every year, and found the online scheduling tool, which lists $160 for a 9-zone system (see screenshot attached), however the date shown in the scheduling options did not have a date I preferred, so I decided to call and schedule. I called and was provided a date range that was more preferred and was told the charges would be $175. When I inquired about the price discrepancy from their scheduling tool, I was told that was incorrect. Once scheduled (and paid), I received an invoice showing a Spring Service with no confirmation of dates on the invoice. I called back to inquire about the incorrect service being schedule and also asked about the price discrepancy. I was transferred to their manager (Elizabeth), who did not seem very motivated to provide any level of service. I also inquired about the price difference and asked if they would honor their online price. I was told they would not. At this point, I decided to request a cancellation and was told this would need to go to their accounting department, and then would need to wait a few weeks to receive a check, despite charging my card a few minutes prior. I was also told I would receive an email with confirmation of cancellation. That was never received and I decided to file a dispute with my credit card company. EDIT: Hydro Tech reached out to me today and I spoke with a wonderful lady named Debbie. She offered an apology and provided confirmation that my credit card had been refunded. She also offered to honor the price of $160 that was shown on the website app, however we did discover there appeared to be an issue with the scheduling app that needed to be corrected. I am updating my original review and appreciate the outreach from Hydro Tech (Debbie in particular). While this was an unfortunate experience, the way this issue was addressed afterwards certainly meets the expectation for a reputable company.

Within days of installation, I noticed that while the system indicated it was watering, no actual irrigation was occurring. After contacting support, I was told it was likely a wiring issue. Now, at the start of this season, a new issue has surfaced--Zone 2 remains running simultaneously with Zones 3 through 6, which clearly points to a system or wiring fault. When I reached out for assistance, the response I received was disappointing. Before any inspection or troubleshooting, the representative immediately attributed the issue to lack of winterization and stated I would be charged again. This approach is concerning. As a long-time homeowner with a sprinkler system dating back to 2008, I have never encountered these types of recurring problems until upgrading to this controller. Even more troubling is the readiness to assign blame without first assessing the situation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service. The lack of accountability and customer-focused support does not align with the expectations for a professional installation and service provider.
