Reached out to them as my wife and I are interested in remodeling both of our bathrooms and had received several recommendations so I was interesting in talking with them. Since I had already done demo on the guest, I had a framework of a layout for the guest and master baths and shared that with Glickman. Doug and Tim (I think was his name?) met with my wife and I, looked over the space, talked with us, gave us their approach, how this would work, etc. Tim presented some potential alternatives that were interesting but that would greatly increase the scope of the remodel. Both gentlemen were very professional and polite but the conversation circled back to budget several times and the numbers that they were referencing were quite a bit higher than the range that we were thinking, which at time, I thought, 'ok, I am completely off the mark?'. After some discussion with my wife, we decided that we wanted to make a slight change to the master bathroom layout so I sent Doug the updated drawing for the framework that we were thinking. This was on a Monday. Fast forward to the following Wednesday (9 days later), I finally hear back from Doug saying that Glickman will have to pass as: "We don't think you would be happy with how this would look" "We don't want you to have buyer's remorse" "You wouldn't be happy with a smaller tub" It's every business' right to pass on work, I have no problems with that but it's the manner in which this was communicated by telling me how I would feel. If you are THAT worried about how I would feel, perhaps propose some alternatives? Especially since I repeatedly stated that it was a design framework and I didn't know if it would even work? Or perhaps just say "We don't think we can give you what you are looking for". Also, with regards to the budget numbers, I've now spoken to 6 different remodelers, the numbers that Glickman were throwing out are still 30% higher than the next highest number. And these other remodelers are reputable design/build establishments. It's possible that the numbers I'm getting are deceiving so will have to see how it all pans out. If Glickman is focused on higher end, higher budget work, then that's perfectly ok but make that clear at the start.

From the sounds of things you already have more than plenty of contractors tied up in spoiling you with quotes but no work. Says more about you than Glickman Design as one to three quotes is the norm but seven. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!! :( As the owner of a small firm, I can understand why this gentleman didn't want to waste his time. I wouldn't waste mine either. I kept detailed notes of my interactions with them, dates that they were on-site, and commitments provided and missed. Their response unfortunately continues to demonstrate their consistent pattern of poor planning, detachment from objective facts, and poor management. They even tried to bribe me to give them a 5-star review. I can only speak to my experience, and only hope that no one else needs to endure an experience like mine.

The wall is 70 feet in length and goes from approximately 2 feet high on one end to over 5 feet high on the other. There were multiple very large stumps to be removed, a yard to be leveled, a perfectionist neighbor to keep happy (as most work had to be completed from the neighbor's side of the wall), and a garden bed at the top. I included a before and after photo of the wall - but it looks even more phenomenal in person. The neighbors were amazed at the transformation, including my newly leveled yard, which wasn't photographed. From start to finish Freddy, Danilo & their team were professional, communicative, highly skilled and displayed integrity, which is becoming more rare these days. The craftsmanship of the wall is outstanding and in combination with my newly leveled yard and new garden bed -- the final result has made an enormous difference in both the appearance and functionality of our landscape. We contacted more than 5 different contractors; some of which were rather uninterested in even performing an estimate. On the contrary, Dave with HL Design was prompt in contacting me (same day that I inquired via home advisor) as well as coming by my property and performing an estimate. We received 3 different estimates, and ultimately chose HL Design seeing as his was the best combination of value and quality body of work. The job itself turned out excellent and was completed on the timeline we had agreed to. One other thing I found interesting was that all other contractors felt they could easily disconnect and reconnect my AC unit since we wanted the unit to sit on the patio itself. HL design however suggested we call a professional to have this service done. This may have been an added cost but I believe it was the right advice seeing as there is much more that went into this than I had expected. I used Tony with Urbana HVAC for this and he was awesome in coming out on very short notice. That said, very happy with the work of HL design and we will surely enjoy our new outdoor living space as the weather starts to warm up!

We initially got more quotes than we intended (5) and though Pro-Built was on the higher end, they used far superior materials and a *much* better design than the others so it seemed more reasonable in the long run. As most projects go, there were a few hiccups but Ed and Christina handled them like professionals. Also, not a small thing in my opinion, the crew cleaned up every single day so we could still use the yard safely. And speaking of the crew, everyone was so very nice. We really didn't have any complaints and would definitely use them for our next project!
