I get so inflamed from the process that I usually have to hide out for several hours afterward, but since no one knew me here, I thought I'd take advantage of my anonymity and boldly walk through town looking like I got punched in the mouth. I found SCG merely by chance and am so glad I did! First of all, the interior is airy and the employees, friendly. They took me without an appointment, but for the short time I had to wait, they offered me water in a glass glass. Such a delight (and environmentally correct) in this age of plastic. The woman who waxed my lip, was personable, capable, and fast. Then when I went up to pay, the women at the desk called her back over and asked her to tone me down with some makeup. It was perfect! She did a great job of covering the redness of my upper lip. I felt pampered and relaxed at SCG. Wish they'd open a salon in Pittsburgh!

This past saturday, she dyed my hair its natural color, and added reddish brown lowlights and blonde highlights with a few layers and side-swept bangs. I love it! I love the price too. Everything (color, half head highlights, lowlights, shampoo, blowdry and a cute curly style) cost me $115! You can't beat that...I can't imagine how much I'd spend on hair like this back home! The owners of Cachet, Tara and Mandi, are talented and trendy, and all the girls who work here are fun, super cute, and do great things with hair. I initially went to Tara when she worked at Body and Sole. Tara has brought all of the pros of Body and Sole with her in this awesome new salon!! The salon itself is adorable. Tara and Mandi have decorated it with pretty wood salon stations topped with granite countertops. There's a fireplace in the middle of the salon too!! The separate nail room is big and very zen. I love it all:-) You can usually book an appointment 2 weeks in advance here. Tara fit me in very last-minute when I unexpectedly came into town last weekend, which was so sweet of her.

I went back and forth between splurging on it or just doing it myself, but I can confidently say it was worth EVERY penny to get it done by these lovely ladies!! Lexi did my hair and makeup trial, then my makeup the day of the wedding. Ashayna and Christin were also part of my bridal dream team and they absolutely killed it. My sisters, mom, and I were all over the moon with how our hairstyles and makeup turned out. This is a lot coming from someone who doesn't normally wear makeup and didn't want to look super caked up on my big day. The salon is adorable and we bought a bunch of products for our hair, purses, and hair clips while we were in for our services. Upon walking in, i was greeted immediately and was given a new client envelope filled with coupons to use in the future. That was awesome! I saw Erica. I had already seen her work on IG and she is AMAZING!!! I was scheduled for a blowout, but when she saw my hair (which another stylist at another high end salon) had don't to my hair, she asked me if I wanted her to shape it up. She knew immediately what the other stylist had done. I have thin hair, and Erica brought it back to life with a little of her magic. Not only does my hair look fuller, but it now has shape to it. She is very knowledgeable and makes you feel so at ease. I'm going back Friday for color and I'm so excited!! I would definitely recommend Erica. Went in and got a manicure & pedicure from Mia. I showed her a picture of what I would like and she was absolutely wonderful. She has AMAZING talent. She didn't use any stencils to draw the nail art on, she did it freehand. She is a perfectionist and made sure my nails were cleaned up with no hangnails or skin around my nail beds. My pedicure was just as BEAUTIFUL. She also is a wonderful person to talk to and you can tell she loves what she does. Since getting these done, I had numerous people stop me and tell me how beautiful my nails and pedicure look.
