The staff were wonderful with helpful suggestions from the front desk to the amazing breakfast buffet staff that always gave us a very warm "buongiorno" when we came in. After a few days the server didn't need to ask anymore he just brought me a cappuccino when I sat down. That is probably the biggest breakfast buffets I have ever seen. The two pictures don't fully capture it all. I really liked this hotel and would be back if I am ever in Rome again.

The downstairs spa was a bit small, but enjoyable nonetheless, with steam room, sauna, and simple hydrotherapy stations. Our room was very nice though there was no place to sit and read as the only chair was at a desk and another side chair that was not practical for reading. I would recommend they consider that. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I ever experienced in all my years of traveling with so many options you cannot possibly try them all. The omelette chef was so accommodating and friendly. We had lunch there the day we arrived, breakfast each day and even decided to dine there for dinner one night instead of going out. All the servers went above and beyond for us and made us feel so welcome. They have live music that is very classy and works great for the environment of the hotel. We saw several different duos for evening and breakfast services. We spent three nights in this hotel before we boarded our cruise ship and really enjoyed every minute there. I highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Rome.

We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a suite which was very spacious. It was like a little apartment! It is located in an area which is separate from the actual hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a very comfortable stay. They serve a complementary breakfast every morning, which was quite extensive and delicious! In the evenings before dinner, they do serve some appetizers and wine, almost like a "happy hour". If I ever return to Rome, definitely would like to stay in this hotel again. However, it is quietly nestled in a beautiful little neighborhood. It is very quiet and quaint. Upon arrival we were greeted with the welcoming staff and escorted into the ruins beyond the lobby where we were brought a lovely tiramisu welcome treat to enjoy while taking in the ruins. The room is impressively large with a huge bathroom. We had a plush king sized bed with cozy down bedding. The thick beautiful curtains ensured that the room was perfectly dark for great sleep even if we wanted a mid day nap. There was a lovely little balcony with a view of the courtyard. With the curtains open the natural light is perfect. The bed was comfortable and we Sisto very nicely here. The bathroom is very big with a walk in shower and bidet with all toiletries needed to have a comfortable stay. I will say I was a bit bummed that the tile warmer was not functional but the hotel was very kind offering anything to make sure that we were happy. This was not a problem and we stayed in this room as warming towels us a perk but not a requirement. I would also note that the building is quite old and the bathroom had a metallic smell perhaps from the pipes of older plumbing but it was fine as long as we kept the bathroom door closed. I think the hotel was really concerned that we were upset but we absolutely were not just keep in mind this building is antique and if you are coming from the US where everything is new and not used to a potential aroma of antiquity be prepared to experience a true European city and do not complain. All details are thought of here including mini bar, clothes steamer, hair dryer, toiletries and a welcome gift. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They are always ensuring that we were comfortable and happy. We absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel is a special place and experience. The nostalgia of standing and staying where the Romans once stood 2000 years ago was definitely a treat! The hotel has a rooftop terrace where we enjoyed breakfast in the mornings and wine in the evening. The lounge just inside of the terrace is cozy and comfortable to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail in the evening and there's a cozy fireplace to warm up, which we took full advantage of after a long wet rainy day in the colosseum and Roman forum. We had a great stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special Roman experience. We will definitely be back!

Loved both non-alcoholic cocktails (fifteen something and mario bros, why it's called that, no idea). They have lots of shade with the large umbrellas and there are many fans as well. drinks come with delicious olives/roasted pistachios/chips apps. It's not cheap but you get your money's worth of ambiance and reprieve from the scorching sun.

Hotel personnel were professional and helpful enough, our bed was comfortable, and the room had a garden view and was equipped with a flat-screen TV. But almost $1,000 per night for a double bed with cramped, slow elevators; a bar that was not even open at 10:00 p.m. on a Friday night; no swimming pool, no whirlpool, and no spa; and a place that had run out of electrical adapters so couldn't provide one the first night but did the second; and wanted 9 Euros (about $13.50) for a small can of Coca-Cola from the room minibar when I was able to secure a larger bottle of Coke from a food van a quarter-block away at the top of the Spanish Steps for just 3 Euros? C'mon! All the European charm and Elemis bath products in the world can't close that wide a gap in money's worth!

We were on the second floor, facing the street. You can definitely hear the street noise, street sweeping, garbage truck, etc.. We asked to switch rooms and they said they were fully booked and offered ear plugs. Our stay also included daily breakfast buffet, it was fine. But we got bored on day 3. Housekeeping was minimal, I really don't think they vacuumed our floors at all. I wrote a note for housekeeping that are shampoo bottle was empty, and yet they did not even bother swapping. My note was untouched inside the shower. The shower stall was very small, but the pressure was great. We do love the convenience next to Roma Termini. But I doubt I would pay to stay here again.

I hesitate to call this a hotel, because it is a family residence of five generations, built in the first half of the 17th century. They have done a beautiful job renovating and converting several rooms (7 I think) to upscale hotel standards. Our accommodations could not have been more comfortable, beautiful, and clean! And our hosts could not have been more friendly, helpful and welcoming. We LOVED our stay here! There is a small elevator, which comes in handy for luggage. Nicest check-in we have ever had anywhere, as we were brought to the parlor to sit and receive a map with area information from the most charming, gracious Hostess. Our room was spotless with beautiful hardwood floors and a large comfortable bed. The bathroom was incredible, with the most amazing shower. We called it our disco bathroom as the lights changed colors! (not in a tacky way though...it's quite lovely!) Note that no breakfast is served, which was perfectly fine with us, as the area is surrounded by restaurants. They do have a refrigerator and coffee machine available on one floor if you want it. We enjoyed walking the area. It's full of little shops and restaurants, and there are taxi stands very close by. The Pantheon was an easy walk as well. Even our pre-stay communications via email were super helpful. Aimone arranged transportation for us. We were greeted at the airport with a sign for a worry-free arrival. And he also booked our driver to the port of Civitavecchia. As if all of this wasn't good enough, the price was incredibly reasonable for this quality! Highly highly recommend!

There was so much shopping and plenty of great restaurants to enjoy. Zara was a perfect host! She kindly waited up past midnight for us to arrive from our unexpectedly late flight. She had great communication before, during and even after our stay. She even allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel for the day after we checked out and provided us recommendations for things we needed in the city. The rooms were small, but that's what made the experience authentic. Everything was immaculately clean and well maintained. I was impressed by the combination of modern upgrades with the historical structure. The small elevator was even a great experience! If you're looking for an authentic experience in the heart of Rome, enjoy your stay here!
