It was the perfect hotel for the end of our Italy tour! Beautiful boutique hotel located just a few blocks away from the Trevi Fountain. The AC worked (lol) the bed was a king and SOFT, the bathroom was bigger than what we've been staying in and there was a tub?! Say less...lol! Staff was SUPER friendly. Breakfast was fantastic with white glove service. At night we would hang in the lounge for drinks and chat with hotel guest from all over the world! Sooooo much fun and worth every penny!! read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel during our trip to Rome for our anniversary. We greeted with a welcome letter and complimentary chocolates to wish us a special anniversary. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They all speak English which was very helpful since our Italian is limited. The stay includes a complimentary breakfast which is a platter and one of the options off their menu. They also have a bar that stays open in the evening. Such an amazing stay here. The staff were over the top accommodating and friendly! I had a couple issues with my room and went to the front desk and asked if it was possible for me to change rooms and they were on top of it. They wrote down everything I said and gave me a new room. THIS IS HOW AMAZING THEY ARE: I took my laundry down one morning and was told I could pick it up that evening. In the evening I was told that the courier wasn't able to get it to where it needed to be so it would be ready the next morning. The next morning I went back and they said it hadn't been delivered and to come back in the afternoon. When I came back it still wasn't there so I left for a few hours. When I returned it was back. At least four different people working different shifts at the front desk apologized for my laundry not being back earlier. They didn't charge me for the laundry service, and they gave me two free drinks from the bar. As for the location, I felt I was pretty much right near almost everything I wanted to see! Nothing was more than a 15-20 minute taxi ride or a 1 mile (or under) walk. There is this cool little pizza/sandwich/drink place like 60 feet from the front door right on the corner. Go the other way about 100 feet and there is a market and other nice little restaurant. It's in a great location for dining and shopping. And an awesome fountain right in the middle. Trust me, stay here, you will not be disappointed. read more

HOTEL BAROCCO is exquisite luxury and perfect walking distance of Trevi Fountain and delicious restaurants. The staff are so very professional, pleasant, courteous and helpful. They speak English very well and their concierge is the best! I cannot stress how fantastic this location is. The hotel is in a very quiet location but just steps away you can take in great shopping and a few blocks in one direction, the Trevi Fountain and great people out and about dining and shopping. Two blocks the opposite direction appears to be a financial area with more fantastic restaurants AND the Hop on Hop off bus- to our surprise- lands right near by! (We hopped on at the Vatican because we were so tired from so much walking and opted to get off of the Hop on Hop Off bus at the Trevi Stop - and low and behold- there's HOTEL BAROCCO ! So fabulous the delicious breakfast is included and the cocktail of Prosecco in the evening. The rooms are super glamorous as is the bathroom with full tub, marble throughout, and luxurious bedding for a perfect nights sleep. When they call a cab for you, it's only a few moments away because of the hotel's great reputation. This hotel is a true gem of luxury in a perfect location with an amazing staff throughout. Love it and definitely will return and I highly recommend for your visit to Roma. read more

Would not recommend this hotel in Rome. Even though this place is in a good location in the city, I was located next to the elevator and the housecleaning closet. Very loud in the evening and early morning. I could hear the kitchen banging around at around 6 AM. The alley view was horrible as well.I could hear everything out there as well. The shades in my bathroom didn't cover the whole window. The hallways in this hotel were very narrow so I could hear the people across from me. I couldn't sleep. I could hear everyone. I had to go buy noise canceling headphones. I was just disappointed with how little insulation this hotel had. Couldn't sleep for the full 10 days I was there. read more

Located on the Piazza Tritone. Moderately busy. Yet quiet enough to sleep at night. Via Tritone is close by with all of its shopping opportunities. The small hotel is a delightful old building that has been modestly modernized. The side street entry is small,you'd almost miss it if you're in a hurry. Don't worry your taxi driver knows this place. The reception area and lobby room are also quite small. Our room had an old world feel. Big four poster bed and Victorian age furniture. Fixtures all work fine, plenty of hot water in the shower (which can be a problem in many of these old central city buildings). All staff are nice. Almost all speak English. But as always throughout Italy you get treated extra warmly and will learn some inside secrets from the staff about the city if you speak Italian. Breakfast is included with the room rate. Typical generous tourist hotel buffet assortment and hot food from the kitchen. Food quality is quite good. The dining room is charming. Room rates for a superior class run about 140 euros / night. As Americanos traveling to Rome for the first time, we could not have been more pleased with this boutique hotel. It's in a great part of Rome that was safe and colorful. The bed was the best I've slept on and the staff were extremely helpful and so nice at all times. In particular, but not limited to these few names, our nightly bartender, Gean Luca. Stefano, who took care of us at breakfast and Valerio and Lisa at reception. There aren't a lot of extras in terms of say a pool or large restaurant but it really felt like a Roman experience to us. I don't give ratings on accommodations but I just had to for Hotel Barocco because this is THE hotel that I want to stay at for my next trip to Rome. Five stars. One of the best hotels I've stayed in. And this one will be hard to beat for any future hotels I'll be staying in. Google map lead us to the corner of the hotel, and when we rang the wrong bell, one of the hotel staffs came running out to lead us to the right entrance. Beautifully arranged rooms with complimentary fruits and wine. We stayed in two different rooms over our course of stay, loved both rooms. The rooms were always kept clean, and whenever we came back from dinner, Good Evening mats were rolled out beside our bed. The breakfast was the best we've had in any hotels. They have amazing selection of foods at the breakfast buffet, and all other items you can order on the menu were complimentary as well. Most importantly, the staff were very friendly and professional on all levels. All of them genuinely welcomed our stay and helped to make everything be the best. Absolutely lovely hotel with superb, amazing staff. Staff is professional, polite, helpful, patient, friendly. Wow, just wow. Beds were really, really comfortable with excellent linens. Showers were powerful. Everything was exceptionally clean and tidy. Fruit bowl upon arrival. Candies/cookies upon departure. The hotel is very small and cozy. Since we were on the first floor (2nd floor to Americans) we took the stairs to our room. There's a bit of up and down to get there but personally I think it added to the charm. No long, sterile hallways, just lovely marble floors and thick, solid, gorgeous wood doors. Some rooms can be very small so book accordingly. We had a room on the first floor directly overlooking the piazza and it was incredibly quiet so don't let the busy piazza deter you. I napped one afternoon around 5-6pm and couldn't hear a single car or truck on the piazza, that's how tight/soundproof the windows are. The piazza Barberini isn't a particularly attractive area but I chose the hotel since the piazza was a stop on the hop on-hop-off bus route, making it easy to get around Rome. I didn't expect there would also be so much to walk to just around the hotel. Wonderful restaurants, local shops, and yes, plenty of souvenir stores as well. The pharmacy across the street came in handy as we caught colds on the plane. But also an easy/short walk to the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain and back to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel mid-morning, napped then ventured out to see a bit. Walked the loop seeing the sights, grabbing gelato, resting, taking photos...a wonderful intro to Rome...and the total walk/loop was right at 2 miles. We saw tons in that time and really got a feel for Rome. As everyone said breakfast is just lovely. A very nice and large buffet, plus the option for made-to-order eggs, omelettes, pancakes. read more

Really fantastic service. They've had food goodies every night for us and nightly turn down service. Very spacious room and great fountain view. We read fav reviews about the location-- the location is the only thing we DIDNT like. We ended up having to cab everywhere-- except Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain (closed June 2014). If it wasn't 95 degrees outside, we possibly could have walked to a few more places, but it's currently way too hot to walk more than 5-10 minutes!!! read more

SO IN LOVE with Hotel Barocco! Where do I begin?! Upon checking in, they gave us a complimentary upgrade to the rooftop suite terrace- I mean, wow!!! We had our own outdoor gazebo tub and cute outdoor seating area with so much greenery and trellises surrounding us! We really felt like we were staying in Rome! This space could truly be a little rooftop party spot! It overlooks one of the main intersections on the street boasting a beautiful fountain. The rooms were so modern, comfy and clean! High quality everything, especially the bathroom and it's several entertaining amenities like the shower head changing the water bright colors (is this a club?!). The complimentary breakfast was my favorite!!! Their set up and presentation for breakfast is so intimate, romantic, quaint, beautiful and ultimately out of a storybook! Truly a one of a kind experience at a hotel! The food and beverage selection was delicious and plentiful! We felt like we were in a movie! From beginning to end, our interactions with the hotel staff was exceptional. Their attentiveness and friendly service really exceeded our expectations! They went out of their way to recommend and direct us to the top local eateries within walking distance of the hotel. Last but not least... The location!!! All of the waitstaff were very accomodating and spoke English. We walked to the local sights & restaurants. We were a large group so I contacted the concierge via email in advance of our stay and they made great suggestions & even booked our tables. Would highly recommend. **The only glitch that the travel agancy should have known, is that because we were a large group, we were traveling on a coach bus & vehicles that size cannot go into that area where the hotel is located. We had a good walk from our drop off to the hotel. Again, NOT THE HOTELS FAULT, just transportation restrictions in that area. read more

I researched and wanted a hotel that was elegant and romantic. This hotel is both as well as close to so many tourist places and shopping. It is so easy to walk anywhere from here. You do want to walk as the city comes alive in the evenings. Numerous restaurants and shopping near by. We were on the fourth floor and had a suite. Stunning room over looking the Triton Fountain. The staff was incredibly professional and assisted us every step of the way. Breakfast was different for this little Texas. Continental breakfast with breads, numerous cheeses, meats, pastries, boiled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, fresh mozzarella. The room was amazing. Wonderful bed, sheets. Clean and elegant. We needed a room big enough to fit our family of four comfortably and Barocco fit the bill. The suite had two bathrooms - a plus - and two comfortable twin beds in the "extra room." Everything was modern, clean and quiet - despite having our room facing Piazza Barberini. The breakfast was great and includes made-to-order eggs, and a nice buffet. The downsides are the lobby is meager, the room size is not large (typical of staying in a European city), and Piazza Barberini is not too exciting/charming of a location - though close to Spanish Steps and close enough to Trevi Fountain. The staff was lovely, very helpful, and they provided a fruit basket upon our arrival and cookies and a thank you note upon our departure. read more

This hotel was wonderful. The hotel is situated in a perfect location, not too far but also not in all the hustle and bustle of the main tourist attractions. All the main sights are still walking distance. The staff are super accommodating. I have a hip issue and the original room had a shower/tub that would have been very difficult for me to get into. They changed my room the very next day with no problem. I didn't even have to worry about moving my stuff, they did it for my husband and we while we were out sightseeing. I would like to give a shout out to Fabio as he was super helpful and made our stay even more enjoyable. read more

Let me begin by saying that this hotel's four star rating is well deserved. My husband and I found Hotel Barocco on Expedia and booked right away since the reviews were excellent, price was very reasonable, and location was clutch. We flew in from an eight day trip from Paris which was quite a disappointment. We stayed at a hotel that even though it was rated four stars, I must say that it currently stands at a two star rating IMO. From filthy carpeting to poor lighting and broken mirrors in the room to poor recommendations from the concierge. People in general were rude. We couldn't wait to get out of Paris and leave to Rome. We knew that it couldn't get any worse plus we had a good feeling about Rome. We arrived via taxi to Hotel Barocco and were so pleased from the moment we set foot inside. Check in was a breeze. We got there a lot earlier than our check in time. The front desk assured us our room would be ready in 15 minutes and kindly asked us to wait in the lobby. We were so surprised that we didn't have to leave our luggage in a closet and wait for hours until check in time unlike the hotel we stayed at in Paris. When the room was ready, we were taken in the elevator which is quite small. I say maybe five slim people fit maximum. Our bags were to follow separately. We stayed on the first floor in lucky room number 13 which was a room very near Piazza Barberini. The room had windows--each window consisted of double pane windows so you had to open two windows in order to hear the outside street noise. Since the hotel controls the central a/c, you don't have access to adjust the temperature in your room. If it's too warm, you would need to open the windows. The room was perfect only for two people. It provided enough space for each piece of luggage we brought along with a carryon each. The bed was very comfortable. I couldn't use the down comforter they provided because the most I sleep with is a thin blanket plus I found the room to be a bit hot for a down comforter unless you slept with the window open. Pillows were comfortable as well. I loved the bathroom--so spacious, with great toiletries, and a bidet. The shower was very nice as well. My only complaint about the shower is that if I tried to make the water hot just how I like it, the pressure kept decreasing. It decreased to the point where it barely had pressure and it was a rain shower head which you can adjust. As I adjusted it, the water just dripped downwards rather than sideways. The safe was super duper tiny. We could only fit a few pieces such as wallet, weddings bands, small camera, iPad, etc. Our professional Canon camera and MacBook had to stay outside. We felt very safe there, so we knew it wouldn't be a problem. Our room rate included free breakfast buffet plus wifi. The breakfast buffet was incredible! As soon as you walk into the dining area, you are greeted by your friendly waitress and you get to choose where you would like to sit. The center table had a spread of various cheese and bread, luncheon meats such as ham and prosciutto, pastries such as glazed croissants and cannoli, butter, jams, and honey. The back table had a spread of various cereals, juices, and milk. You also had the option of ordering eggs from their menu. Every morning I had scrambled eggs with bacon and it was delicious. Now, when it comes to their wifi, it pretty much is terrible. Many sites I tried visiting could not be opened, most site that did open where directed to their European affiliation, and every time the laptop went idle, the wifi connection was lost and the access code had to be reentered. My husband had to turn off and on the wifi on his iPad over and over again in order to get it working properly. We read in an announcement the hotel left in our room that Italy has one of the worst Internet connections in the world with very slow speeds. Quite frankly, it's true. They are working on improving it. Concierge service was excellent! All dining recommendations were fantastic! Not one restaurant was mediocre. Every place we dined at had excellent food and top notch service. We are looking to come back to Rome with our family since we had such a fantastic time, so we asked if they had suites for a family. Unfortunately, they don't provide rooms for over three guests which is quite a bummer. We loved everything about this hotel except for the wifi issues. Guess we will need to look elsewhere with a family suite. :( read more

Top notch service in a building with character and class. Great location on Piazza Barberini. Nice breakfast is included, best selection that we've seen in Europe, it includes cook to order eggs and a variety of everything else. Staff is helpful, friendly, and respectful. E stayed in junior suite 49 which has a nice balcony overlooking the piazza. Our traveling companions stayed in a standard room 42 with a balcony on the side street (still a view of the fountain). Despite what we had read, the Internet connectivity was excellent. Thre was a welcome fruit bowl in the room and on our last night, there were chocolates and a nice hand written note waiting in our room on our return from dinner. Hotels like this are what everyone should experience in Rome. So much more personalized than the big box brands. The hotel is located where via Veneto meets the piazza Barberini, good for walking to where ever you need to be. Close to metro stop as well. read more

Arrived after noon with our family of 7 in late July ~ an hour from the daVinci Rome airport near Piazza Bernini. It's on a side street with a small hidden sign and the lobby is small but welcoming after a long flight from NY. Our rooms were ready and the lone porter gladly gathered our many bags (11 day cruise) and promptly placed them in our rooms. All the rooms were recently updated and were nicely appointed included a vast variety of bathroom amenities. The staff was excellent including the front desk who assisted us with any of our needs. The inclusive breakfast area was very quaint and comfortable with great variety delicious breakfast treats consisting of meats, cheeses, fruits, homemade deserts and fresh omelets that could be ordered at your table including outstanding cappuccino and expresso. Overall a great location to explore the many wonders of my favorite city with first class accommodations and service. A nice home away from home... read more

We recently stayed at Hotel Barocco for our honeymoon in Rome for 4 nights. When we arrived (after 24 hours of travel due to our flights being cancelled/rescheduled) the staff at Barocco were wonderful. They upgraded our room to a suite and let held on to our bags until the room was ready (we arrived around 10am before check in time). So we grabbed a quick lunch, and then relaxed in their lounge area while we waited for our room to be ready. Once our room was ready our bags were brought up for us and we crashed in the comfortable bed. The suite was perfect - and the bathroom was spacious and updated. We loved that we could open our bedroom/bathroom windows and just relax with the noise from the streets below. Not the best view (we were facing the alley) but we did get the smell of freshly baked bread from the nearby restaurants every morning. The location was fantastic as well. Off the Piazza Barberini, 5 mins from both Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. We also walked to the Colosseum one day for a tour and that only took about 25 minutes. And the cab ride to Vatican City was only about 10 mins. The staff was super welcoming and helpful. They gave us a complimentary bottle of Proseco, fruit and cookies, along with a nice note thanking us for choosing their hotel. And the breakfast? AMAZING! We made sure to eat breakfast at the hotel every morning because it was so delicious - and free! Fruit, eggs, cheese, pastries, meats, juices, and fresh bread were just a few of the things included. We really felt relaxed and at home at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Rome. If we make it back to Rome in the future we would stay at Hotel Barocco again. read more

Hotel is in a great location just steps away from the metro! It was super easy for us to just catch the metro from the the train station and walk over! It's also in a prime location to walk to a lot of the major attractions. Rooms are comfy and clean, and the staff is excellent. Great boutique hotel just off of Piazza Barberinni. The hotel is just a few steps away from the Spanish steps and was a great starting point for our tours. There's a lot that you can get to if you're willing to walk half a mile or so. And why wouldn't you? There's so much around like the Trevi fountain or other nice little piazzas. The rooms were a decent size for Rome, with a bed, desk and a sizeable bathroom. The service at the hotel was fantastic. They gave great recommendations for restaurants (Go to Hostaria Romana!!!) The breakfast every morning was good with a vast selection of breads, cereal, fruits, juices. They would also make a nice omelette or fried eggs/bacon on order. My only gripe with the hotel was the wifi which was spotty. It would tend to go in and out. I would usually tend to reset within an hour but it was a little inconvenient. read more
