Whenever I visit a new city or country, I always like to check out the Apple Store, as there always seems to be something going on, not just in the store, but the surrounding area and that's certainly the case here, as this location on Buchanan Street is in a terrific old building, in the heart of the city's shopping district, on Buchanan Street. The selection of the latest Apple devices from iPhone to iPad, from MacBook Pro to AirPods is extensive as one would expect, and the store's exposed brick wall adds a rustic charm and a juxtaposition between the modern technology and old building which houses Apple Glasgow. There are fewer open spaces to sit and relax compared to other Apple Stores - there are still some areas where you can sit, play around with the latest devices and charge your phone though, even if it isn't the most spacious and comfortable. The staff seemed friendly enough, but again not overly welcoming and engaging. The store does generally close at 7 pm, which is a little early for my liking but is amongst the latest in the city centre anyway so I can't complain too much there. 4* read more

Extremely unprofessional manager (short blonde hair) in the store today. No interpersonal skills, terrible communication skills, very immature and childish behaviour with a horrific attitude that clearly shouldn't be working in a customer based service environment! His unprofessionalism is a bad reflection on the Apple brand and clearly brings the Apple brand into disrepute. Apple need to pay more attention to their management selection process and the customer service/management training that they are giving these people. In this case, Apple have got it majorly wrong promoting this person as they're not management material in anyway! read more

I am a bit of an Apple-aholic. I've been one for years and it's actually getting worse over time. I started with an iPhone 3G and I've had quite a few since. More recently, I've become a MacBook user and I know I could never go back. Now thankfully, I never really had any issues with my iPhones so I never really visited the store. However, with a MacBook sometimes things come up that need in-person attention and I've always appreciated that I can make an appointment for the Genius Bar online and pop in and be seen to. Recently, my MacBook has been playing funny buggers and so I made an appointment. Annoying, Apple seem to want to make it difficult to get a Genius Bar appointment so the booking page has been hidden away behind many, many annoying menus and suggested solutions. I made the appointment on Thursday and the next available day was Tuesday which was a little annoying but as it wasn't a fatal problem I wasn't too worried. Checking in is easy (especially if you were signed into your iTunes account when you made the booking) and you will probably need to factor in a 10-15 minute wait, as the Genius area is always heaving. The guy who looked at my issue (Adam) was a champion - friendly, chatty and most importantly, very helpful. He got it sorted without too much trouble and time, and I was off again on my merry way. I really appreciate being able to get computer issues sorted then and there on the spot, without having to be without my MacBook and without having to pay. Apple may be a bit of a cult, but with customer service like that, I'm not going to leave any time soon. Note: I resisted trying on any Apple Watches. I feel like this is some kind of personal achievement. read more

Great Atmosphere with helpful Staff that knew what they were doing and not giving the uncomfortable hard sale. Only down side was there was little interaction between Apple staff and the crowd, but the Great American Starbucks saved the day coming round with Coffee's and a smile. I only recently bought into the whole 'Apple' thing. I got myself an iPod Classic to start off with, which I bought in Canada on a whim, and then slowly came to terms with the rest of the Apple product family - I now also own an iPhone (oooo fanceeee). Of course, Apple products have their own stigma - they're very elitest, yet at the same time, accessible. The sleek and futuristic design of the products make them a firm favourite with the public. This store is no exception to the rule - it's as sleek and white/silver/futuristic as the products! The store allows you to mess around with their latest products, from the ipod nanos which now record video, to iphones and notebooks, etc. Much time can be spent working out just how to turn products on though.... ahem. The staff are pretty Apple savvy (well, they'd have to be, working in the hi-tech store), and can tell you everything about everything Apple. Impressive (or just doing their job?). Prices, as Jamie mentioned, are quite high, however, it is brilliant to see, and use the products before you buy them elsewhere (possibly). read more

This store is quite new and it looks awesome inside, really spacious and clean with alot of staff constantly running around. The electricity bill must be huge, with loads of equipment up and running all the time. It's good for a quick peruse but it can be difficult to be tempted to make a purchase once you get your hands on the gear and get familiar with it. I'm not an Apple man myself. Committed to Dell. That being said, I do own an I-Pod (who doesn't?) and have been in a few times with tech-related issues. When you do come in with tech problems, you get given an appointment time to come back at a specific time later that day upstairs so bear that in mind when scheduling your day. I managed to trade in my old one for 10% off my new one which was decent, no grumbles there. read more

I'm glad this store is in Glasgow, as it's one of the highest profile brands going and it's presence here is good for the city, but Apples' self-proclamation of their products as a fashionable lifestyle choice above all else really gets on my wick, as do those infuriating ipod adverts. The store adheres to this highly stylised mantra, and sometimes feels a bit like you're being indoctrined into a religious cult rather than simply browsing in a shop. The Apple "geniuses" all know their stuff though, even if it mainly takes the form of "switch it off then switch it back on again" 99% of the time. Despite my minor annoyance, I'm aware of just how good and well designed Apple stuff is, so it's very hard not to reccomend, even if I must do it through gritted teeth. read more

I've always enjoyed owning an apple product, you get the feeling that apple is like the rolls Royce of electrical equipment but it wasn't like that when they first arrived there was no customer support if anything failed. I remember my first iPod that l purchased that only lasted two weeks before the software failed but back then that was the norm. The staff are friendly and helpful, and upstairs it's a little more like a cafe than a shop, with the genius bar and workshops running to help us all get a little more out of our Apple products. As one of the world's biggest Apple-holics I'm surprised I have not yet reviewed this wonderful store. I had the first iPhone, but got rid of it as I wasn't a fan back then. Since then, I got my first macbook about 2 years ago, and since then I have been absolutely obsessed. I've had iPods, iPhones, iPads, iMacs, MacBooks, oh God I've spent far too much money in this shop and I've just realized this... The staff are excellent in here, and always try their hardest to satisfy you and get your products fixed/get their products sold, and always do it with a smile! I would suggest anyone who needs an appointment, especially if it's a weekend, book it a couple of days in advance because they're absolutely mobbed 24/7 it seems, and it's difficult to get appointments with the geniuses upstairs. (And a wee cool hint; if you have an iPhone and you're in the apple store and want to buy something, you can use your phone to scan and purchase the product yourself without the help of any staff using your Apple ID, which I think is absolutely wonderful!) read more

The Apple Store in Glasgow is only one of two in Scotland (the other is in Aberdeen), so I guess it's a bit of an Apple mecca for us Scottish Apple geeks. I've been an adorer of Apple kit since I was a kid getting a shot on an Apple IIc, and now having two iPods, an iPhone, a MacBook Pro and a Mac mini (not to mention the ton of old Mac gear I have stashed away) means I have to make use of the Store in an "existing customer needs help" capacity. The problem is, once you're an Apple user, it's tough to visit and not be entranced by the accessories and software available. Look, shiny! Wait, did I just buy something? Ah, crap! From the outside, the Apple Store appears quite respectful of the Sauchiehall Street aesthetic - something they actually had to be after planning permission to totally redo the exterior was denied by the city council. Inside, they've totally ripped up the two floor structure used by the previous tenant (The Pier), and replaced the second floor with a mezzanine, allowing you to go upstairs and hock loogies on the throbbing mass of oohing and aahing potential customers ... I mean, to see the lovely people below. Downstairs is the main shop floor: plain wooden tables (from IKEA perhaps?) are adorned with the latest Apple goodies, all set up for you to play with. iMacs and Macbooks are left running as regular machines, unlike the locked down machines running demos in other computer stores like PC World, so you can play with the computer as you normally would: browse the web a bit, play some music, watch video clips. The iPods and iPhones are preloaded with content, so you can fiddle with those too. To buy stuff, just look reeeeeally interested in something expensive, like a 27" iMac, or a 32GB iPhone 3GS. You'll soon get poked at by a roaming Apple salesperson. If you're rubbish at looking interested in stuff, just flag one down as they're passing; they'll either help you out or grab one of their less busy colleagues. You can buy stuff without cash anywhere in the store: all the salespeople have wireless credit card terminals on them at all times. If you want to pay cash, there's a till on the left hand side of the floor. In case you want a slightly different configuration of computer from the ones on display, just talk to the salesperson; they can organise any possible onsite upgrades or tweaking, or get you a custom configuration ordered up and arranged for delivery. Upstairs in the mezzanine are accessories, third-party products, software and the Genius Bar. This is Apple's combined service and support desk. Problem with your Mac mini? Broken your iPhone? Can't connect your Macbook air to a camera? The Geniuses are here to help. You book a session with a Genius online at apple.com/uk/retail and at the alloted time, go up the stairs and let the Genius Bar folk know you're there. If you want new headphones for your iPod, the latest OS X software update, games or apps for your Mac, or any other accessory you can think of, go upstairs. The Store also has classes and howto sessions on using Apple products, and making the best of their features for blogging, music creation, making movies, doing business and so on. There are occasionally live music sessions too, although not as often as at the flagship store in London's Regent Street (which are usually recorded and put up for sale on the iTunes music store). Tip: if you want priority repairs, and can afford it, pony up 70 quid for a year's worth of Apple ProCare. Repairs go to the top of the queue. I've had a MacBook Pro's motherboard replaced in an hour instead of the three or four days you can wait when they're busy. Bottom line, this is a good example of an Apple Store, albeit a bit of a small one. They don't stock the full line of products you can buy at the online Apple Store, but most of the things you'd need for day to day stuff can be easily found here. Just protect your credit card well, it can be easily abused in the name of such excuses as "oh, that could be useful", "I like the look of that", and the classic: "ooh, shiny!" read more

Iv had my iPod replaced 3 times by them coz it kept breaking down and my boyfriend has had his replaced once before aswell! From the moment you walk in the door, you can see people playing with all the cool stuff! From the shiny new iPad, the iPod Touch, the iPhone, the various sleek MacBooks, and the huge Mac Pro units. The very fact that you can hold everything in your hands just makes you lust after these smexy devices all the more. Oh, new iPad, you will be mine! *Ahem* I digress. I have made several purchases for myself and as gifts from the Apple store since it opened, and have always received friendly and helpful service from the sales staff. Whenever I've had problems with my iPod Touch (few, but the occasional glitch has popped up), the Genius Bar were always able to sort it out for me. I especially like that you can have your receipts emailed to you - save a tree, and all that jazz. The occasional workshops are also pretty interesting! Apple, Apple, Apple.. Apple, Apple, Apple, Apple, Apple, Apple, Apple... Ok, I'm done. I've grown to have opinions of Apple products that aren't necessarily the most praising but seeing as I'm not a fan of being biased, this is a review on the store, the staff and the service I have received here and not a review of their products. The Apple store is situated about 1/3 to 1/2 way down Buchanan St, just a 10 minute walk from either Queen St Station and Central Station (allowing a few minutes of taking the wrong turn or walking the wrong way that is familiar to people who aren't used to the centre of Glasgow). The store is in a very large, beautiful building which is quite grandiose compared to the modern, sleek and almost flawless looking buildings that Apple stores are usually situated in, but as soon as you enter you feel like you have been teleported from the former to the latter. The ground floor is very spaciously laid out, making full use of the large floor space which in turn can actually make the room seem quite bare and minimal. I'm not sure if this is the approach that Apple usually take as I have only ever been in 2 Apple stores but to me it doesn't suit the size and power of what Apple stands for. The service on the bottom floor, I've found, is very "techy". By that I mean that the staff are very friendly, overly enthusiastic (which is an excellent attribute and not a complaint like it may sound) about the company they work for and can make you feel like their entire bedrooms are filled with that little apple (why did they take the picture after someone took a bite out of it?) Side note: The bite is out of the apple to provide scale so it wouldn't be misinterpreted as a cherry, says Rob Janoff, graphic designer and creater of the Apple logo.. Back to it: The Genius bar is where the magic happens. If you were to be given 30 minutes to cause as much internal damage to an iPhone (without taking a sledgehammer to it) and taking note of what you done, you could pass your phone to this team and within 10 minutes in their magical, sciencey Wizard chamber (the lab) they can tell you exactly what is wrong with your phone and, if there is a way to fix it, they can do it there and then (with a charge if you aren't under warranty of course). Any service I have received from the Genius bar or any other member of staff in here has been 5* and the only reason a star is lost is because I feel that the company could have done more to fill the room a bit more or chosen a different building to suit their modern and minimalist look. read more

The apple store, I have to admit I don't exactly shop here often as its not everyday you need to pop in but if you do have any problems with any apple equipment the staff in this shop really cant help you enough, keen enthusiastic knowledgeable staff will help with problems or offer advice on products. It's also a pretty cool shop in a very old building, bit of a clinical feel to it but you will be amazed at the amount of things apple sell. Having been a PC gal for the majority of my life, I'm afraid to admit that I've succumbed to the Apple allure and crossed over to the dark side... and I have no intention of turning back. Let's face it... everything Apple makes is just downright sexy. From the sleek body, clean interface, and it's a helluva lot more user friendly than PCs (my opinion at least!). On the foot traffic-ridden "Style Mile", escape into the high-tech Geek sanctuary that is the Glasgow Apple store. Walk through the big heavy double doors, and take a deep breath of geekness. It's a beautiful massive airy building, with a wide array of products laid out along the wall and on tables over two levels for customer to play with. Its sleek, modern, and minimalist interior combines the utilization of glass, stone, and wood for a unique effect, which I absolutely love. Like many of the Apple stores I've been to through out the US (primarily in the metropolises), it's the same consistent feel and ambiance. It could best described as "Geek chic" or even go as far to say "Sexy geek". All aesthetics aside, this is a one-stop shop for your entire Apple needs. From testing products in store, it also offers a variety of services, like the following: - One to one - which includes personal setup, training and projects - Personal shopping - a hour consultation with one of the Apple associates in selecting the right product - Workshops - these are free, so drop in or sign up ahead of time to learn about products, skills and tips - Genius bar - offers hands-on tech support for any questions you may have Overall, the customer service at the Glasgow Apple shop is great and helpful. Although the staff may ask if you need help, they are never pushy. I was just in the other day helping a mate cross over into the dark side... and within 10 minutes of being in the store, he was walking out with a brand spankin' new monster 27" iMac. Muahahaha... Hot tip: Save ~12% with an education discount (either yourself or if you know a student)... unfortunately it doesn't apply to the new iPads and few other things. read more

I tried to buy an iPad today but wasn't allowed past the door as I can't wear a face mask. I have a legitimate exemption under the govts legislation and was wearing a sunflower lariat but was greeted by "what you want to come in?". I didn't want to discuss my private medical history with the manager but pointed out refusing me entry was against the disability legislation. He offered to let me come in before the store opened and would find a member of staff who could cope with my mask less face - although requiring those with disabilities to shop separately from those without is hardly less discriminatory. This was all done with a dismissive and offensive attitude. Regardless of your stance on masks a bit of compassion and understanding would have been appreciated and surely even Apple should abide by the laws of the country. read more

I love the apple store and feel so lucky that there is one in Glasgow since poor old Edinburgh is still waiting! Great service here too I had my iPhone 4 replaced free of charge due to a technical fault with the sim card. Seriously, no quibble. It took about ten minutes in all. Another good tip to know is that if you own an iPhone that has been dropped or damaged by you the user, apple will replace it with the matching handset for a fixed fee of about £100 (can't remember exactly but I'm sure it was under £150) Which is CHEAP considering the service and the goods! Recently I have found myself caught up in the Samsung vs. Apple debates, they plague the internet and my beloved "Stuff" Magazine and it seems that you can't escape it. "Galaxy?", "iPhone 5?", "Apple is far too expensive!". Perhaps that is so, but on my recent visit to the Apple Store on Buchanan Street, I was reminded first hand what Apple carry in their arsenal that Samsung and HTC don't have, and thats fantastic customer service. Instantly, the staff are illuminated and stand out in their blue t-shirts and there are 50 of them to choose between, each with their own individual style and one of those smiles that says "Yeah, Apple take care of us and I love coming to work". Once you move beyond that moment of jealousy, you quickly see that no matter what you need, their is a person who can provide it. I fondly remember my first experiences, buying my iPhone, Macbook & iPad, when I was a new user and was walked through the ABC's of iOS before leaving the store an expert. This time I was in for a fault... I was whisked straight up to the 'Genius bar", told I would need to leave my beloved Macbook behind and to wait for a phone call once they replaced the faulty parts. Before I knew it the nerves set in, memories from the time Sony took my Vaio laptop for 6 weeks and I was left without Football Manager. 4 hours later I received my call, they had fixed it in store, under warranty and I was on my way. Whether you're a first time user, or your Apple products are starting to show signs of use and wear, I highly recommend you book your appointment in store. You haven't just paid for a product, you've paid for a lifetime of Apple after care, and I strongly recommend you take advantage of it. read more

This shop is what you would expect from Apple. It's spacious and well laid out, and feels pretty slick without being intimidating. I like that there is always someone on the door who can point you in the right direction, or quite often, just answer your question straight away. I love that all of the products are on display and that you can touch and properly play about with to get a proper feel for them. And the staff are just wonderful. I've been in here so many times over the years, sometimes with a very simple query, sometimes with something a bit more complicated, and I have always left feeling pleased with the outcome (and often relieved that my little Apple is not broken after all!) And I have never felt patronised at all. The staff really are just great. I've been to a couple of their workshops too - when I'd got a new phone that had quite a few new features on it, and the workshops were really helpful, I learned new tips that helped me get the most out of the product. One thing I didn't know until recently was that they can faciliate phone upgrades for you too - I didn't think they did that! I've just upgraded (to a iPhone 6+ of course) but I know where I'm going next time! There is one thing about this shop that I don't like - the glass staircase! I know it's probably all to do with minimalism and that, but seriously, that thing gives me the fear. read more

The Apple Store is always buzzing with activity, mostly with youngsters messing around with the web-cam features to take their latest wacky myspace/bebo/facebook profile picture. Amazingly, the staff don't seem to mind people messing around on the macs, taking pictures or having a sneaky check of their emails; in fact, they encourage it! What's great about this place is its relaxed atmosphere. The chilled out staff are on hand to help when required, however they know when to hang back and avoid adopting pushy pouncing sales techniques, like a lot of lesser computer stores do. Apple are well known for being the creative person's brand, with their slick, hi-tech gadgets and stylish computers. They're very much an aspirational brand and one that I'm sure the youngsters and poor students like myself will return to when their purses permit. read more

The Apple Store is, as you would expect, a very modern and chic addition to the thriving retail natiure and throngs of young shoppers on Buchanan Street. You can't miss it, with the massive Apple logo and mysterious appearance of free, open-to-the-public wifi that filters through the air in the middle of Glasgow's busiest shopping street. It's almost an eerie presence. All joking aside, the shop is big but kind of cosy and minimalist, with high ceilings and a mezzanine level. Downstairs, there are tables displaying all levels and styles of Apple Mac desktops, laptops, iPods, and iPhones. You'll find all sorts of people trying out the gadgets, checking their emails, and taking mildly inappropriate or vain photobooth pictures. Upstairs is where you can find software and games, accessories, and the Genius Bar. This is the first stop for anyone having problems with their Apple products, where they'll endeavour to fix your thingy without having to ship it off to Scandanavia. I've never had to use this service, but from what I hear you have to wait around a bit but it's usually worth it, and the staff are very knowledgeable. It's a very busy store, but there are always staff around to help out, and they can ring you up without having to wait in a huge queue at the main tills, which is rather nifty. Although I've yet to have much use for it, I must admit, I can't help but be drawn in to covet the MacBook Pros once in awhile. Brilliant. read more

I was gutted when my Ipod broke, I'd only had it for around 6 months and I'd bought it in America so I thought all hope was lost as I definitely wasn't up for hopping on a plane to return it. I decided the sensible thing to do was to go into the Apple Store on Buchanan Street to see if they could help me out. I'm not particularly technical and don't really get too excited about electronic gadgets, as long as my laptop and phone work, I'm happy. Due to my lack of technical skill I was a little bit apprehensive about going into the Apple Store as I have a few friends who are in and out of here all the time and all they ever talk about are new Iphone apps. They had a lot of staff on so it was easy to find someone to help me with my Ipod problem. The guy who helped me was really friendly and just typed in a code on the back of my Ipod into a computer and was able to tell me where, when and at what time my Ipod was purchased. Even though I hadn't got it there he said that all Ipods come with one years free cover so I was able to select a brand new Ipod free of charge! Awesome! I was very happy with both the outcome and the customer service and my trip to the Apple Store wasn't as scary as I'd imagined. read more

When you wander into an apple store in the states the place is teaming with people and every computer is taken, mostly by people who are just checking their email or seeing what's on at the cinema later. When I was in the Apple Store the other day there was far more staff than there was customers! Nevertheless the Apple Store is good for Glasgow as Apple is a big company that has set one of its few stores on our Buchanan Street. I've had Macs in the family home for years. Literally, the first in home computer we got in '94 was a Mac and I've been a fan ever since. I now own a MacBook and one thing that really irks me is a dirty laptop so I wandered in here to find me some screen cleaner. There was a huge array of different types with varying prices...but oh the prices! Little tiny bottles of liquid for near on £20! I paid around a tenner for the biggest bottle of cleaner I could get my hands on! When I went to purchase the cleaner one member of staff told me he was a "Genius" and I should speak to a CSA. So I went downstairs to seek out someone to buy the product off of and was seriously annoyed when nearly all of the staff were deep in coversation with each other in big groups. Any job I've had I would have got a hiding for standing around like that and chatting away. I then approached a group of 3 and asked if I could by it from one of them and the girl was nice enough. But still, I shouldn't have to interupt the staff's conversation to get served! It does deserve a high rating though as the Genius bar is...well, genius! Any problems you have just take your hardware along and they well help you out. You can also book yourself into classes that ensure you get the most out of your programmes! read more

Back in the bad old days - Apples were tough to buy. Hidden behind boxes in Consumer electronic stores or in small shops usually attached to Universities or run by Serious MacHeads that never lost the dream. The arrival of a place that sold Apple machines and did not look likea a cross between a doss house and a used bookstore was a god send. Apple stores actually set the benchmark of how computers should be sold. Lots of tables - lots of lovely electronic goodness and a total absence intrusive know-nothing salesmen trying to get you to buy the extended warranty. The Appley folks here are helpful if you want them to help. Otherwise they leave you alone. Great location, I use this shop to satisfy all of my ipod, iphone, and Macintosh needs. They will fix stuff on the spot if they can. if you are in Glasgow and have the Apple bug - this place is a must visit. read more

I am pretty much of the persuasion that Apple is the biggest, most over-hyped thing since sliced bread, but then my pal got an i-Phone and I really want one! We went to the huge Apple store on Buchanan Street with him to buy a cover for it, and was pretty overwhelmed by the size of it! It really is massive, and I love the interior, which is minimalist and clean, with a real technological feel, if that even makes sense. There are two floors and even a station where you can chat to experts about all your Apple needs. I was a little scared they would seek me out as an Apple impostor, but thankfully no-one did. What I did notice about it though, was how bloody expensive it is! A wee rubber case for my pals i-Phone came in at a ridiculous £20, which for me is just excess for nothing, really. Although that's probably the attitude that sees me getting through about 5 phones a year due to carelessness and dropping! You can literally pay for anything anywhere, as all the staff seem to have wee portable pay stations on them, and boy, are there a lot of staff! So overstaffed in fact, that most of them were slumping around looking thoroughly bored. A Dell girl at heart, I could never go over to the Apple dark side. The guys in here are absolutely brilliant. I can't fault them at all. Went in today to buy my new iPhone. The guy was great, went through everything in simple, but not at all patronising, language. There were a few bugs with the store printer, but these were soon fixed. I forgot all about my AppleCare, so I went back in an hour later and the same chap sorted me out. A great example of customer service, polite, extremely knowledgable, all with a laugh and a smile. read more

Please don't make me go in, please don't make me spend the money i don't have on nice new shiny cool stuff that makes all other computery type equipment look like granny pants to there sexy thong type underwear. Ha! as of yet i have not fallen foul to Apple's lure and have to this point only purchased an wee i pod about 4 years ago....despite the amazingly strong urge to feel like everybody else in the playground. I sauntered into this place only last week ( OMG like, i know totally.....) despite it opening all the way back in the 14th century....or a few years ago if you go by the christian calender and not the "la la la la la is that a frog in a tree, no it's not, it's leaf" Chris calender. So yeah, impressions be good. Big, shiny, Sexy..not like a M&S food advert, more like Nigella Lawson beating eggs in the buff, and full to the brim with expensive technomalology that will make your life so much better than you can ever imagine....ish. I like the hands on feel to this place, making it feel less elite and more " have a go" rather than the get out don't touch feel to similar electrical stores. Apple pretty much have there customers sussed in terms of style, technology and the ability to squeeze just that little bit more than you should be spending out of your wee pocket. When my old faithful Ipod appeared to cough out its last tune three weeks ago, I was envisaging my wallet being a couple of hundred quid lighter. Not so. Thanks to the aptly named genius bar in the aesthetically swish Apple store in Buchanan Street, I was presented with a brand, spanking new one there and then. I knew it was still under warranty, but battered and bruised as it was, I couldn't have argued if they'd refused to honour it. Regardless of whether or not your equipment is broken, this is an incredibly welcoming store and a good place to look in if you fancy treating yourself to a new toy. read more

The Apple store is unlike most other computer shops in that the staff know what they're talking about and they will listen to your requirements and give you decent advice. Then you can actually use the stuff, pick-up the hardware and feel the build quality, try out different applications, play around with the operating system, listen to music or watch video. They also offer various in-store services that are probably best booked online before you go into the branch: you can book time in with a personal shopper for a 1-to-1 to discuss your requirements and have them talk through things and you can take hardware into the branch to have it serviced or repaired. They also run various courses to instruct users on how to get the most out of their hardware and software. Even if your not buying anything it's a good shop to go into as there are lots of things to play with, or it's worth popping in to check out all that funky glass staircase stuff. read more

I may be biast because I'm more a pc person than a mac person, the store looks fantastic but there really isn't too much to see, they space things out really well that it looks a lot but when you really look around you find that most of the numbers are really just different colours of the same product. I've never used their genius bar so cannot comment on it, but they do have a nice selection of mac software. Its a good place to go if you want computer eye candy. read more

As an Apple enthusiast this is very heaven for me. Hands on examples of all the latest Apple kit, if you can wait till the geeks have had a go. (It's a well known fact that every other person interested in computers is a geek, while you yourself are an enthusiast). Seriously though, this is the place to try out Apple gear, if you're interested in buying. Knowledgeable staff to help out too. They run some pretty good workshops on different software applications, and have a really good tech department for repairs and upgrades, etc. If you're not an Apple user, pop in and see what you're missing or even just to play with an iPhone, though I have a feeling it might be Mac overkill for the uninitiated. read more

A computer store where the staff actually know a thing or two! They're trained to actually find the best item for you (not just the most expensive) although this does mean they get a little confused when you know exactly what you're looking for. And as drgrohl said when they're stumped they'll google and not just make up random answers (which although amusing is not helpful). It's beautifully laid out and is nice just to browse through. I love that they offer email receipts. I also went in to buy when I was pushed for time once and the staff went out of their way to help me out. read more

Fan-static Shop and great sales peoples, as I have an apple lap top, which it died on me Wails. So I went to the Apple store, and they have told me to chuck it in the bin I said no, I wanna to keep it, so they have offered me several options, to fix it. but they were reasonable, and gave me loads of information. Even they have took other laptop, to give me a demo, and even lets me play and fiddle around with the products before deciding on which to buy Even they have offered me a special financing options on how to pay for the new laptop, and they all were very helpful. So I rate this store very good customer service and I hope they will carry on Mind you their store are TOTALLY hard to find in the buchanan street, as I have walked up and down the street practically three times, until I finally found it.! I dont blame them, as I blame it on the ancient building, as of keeping the old building as you cannot convert it.. so the Apple have placed their Logo inside their arch outside the building So when you are walking up to the Buchanan Street you have to lean your head to the left, and keep eye on the arch with a apple, then you will find the apple store eventually!!! Inside the layouts are all quirky and very sleek, apple design styles. and I do love their Staff's Name tags I want one of them!! Haha! read more

If you love all things Apple and iPod related the place to go! A beautiful old converted building as great to look at from the outside as the inside being one of the funkiest interior design in a shop I have witnessed! They cater for all your iPod and Apple computer needs at the higher end of the price scale, as you would imagine. Their genius bar is great, I have been to use their service a couple of times due to problems with my iPod and they were a great help and could answer any questions I had. Appointments for the bar can even be booked online in advance though the Apple website so you don't have to wait to long in queue when you get there. Great! read more

I took my iPhone 5 to the apple genius. He told me that it couldn't be repaired, but he could offer me a reconditioned one. I took it to an apple repair shop, amusingly named irepear, with a logo which is a pear with a bite taken out. Well, actually, all it required was a replacement battery!! read more
