    Queuing for iPhone5!

Great Atmosphere with helpful Staff that knew what they were doing and not giving the uncomfortable hard sale. Only down side was there was little interaction between Apple staff and the crowd, but the Great American Starbucks saved the day coming round with Coffee's and a smile. Here is hoping Edinburgh Council stop being 'Muppets' and the Apple Store in Princess Street gets completed!

I only recently bought into the whole 'Apple' thing. I got myself an iPod Classic to start off with, which I bought in Canada on a whim, and then slowly came to terms with the rest of the Apple product family - I now also own an iPhone (oooo fanceeee). Of course, Apple products have their own stigma - they're very elitest, yet at the same time, accessible. The sleek and futuristic design of the products make them a firm favourite with the public. This store is no exception to the rule - it's as sleek and white/silver/futuristic as the products! The store allows you to mess around with their latest products, from the ipod nanos which now record video, to iphones and notebooks, etc. Much time can be spent working out just how to turn products on though.... ahem. The staff are pretty Apple savvy (well, they'd have to be, working in the hi-tech store), and can tell you everything about everything Apple. Impressive (or just doing their job?). Prices, as Jamie mentioned, are quite high, however, it is brilliant to see, and use the products before you buy them elsewhere (possibly).

This store is quite new and it looks awesome inside, really spacious and clean with alot of staff constantly running around. The electricity bill must be huge, with loads of equipment up and running all the time. It's good for a quick peruse but it can be difficult to be tempted to make a purchase once you get your hands on the gear and get familiar with it. I'm not an Apple man myself. Committed to Dell. That being said, I do own an I-Pod (who doesn't?) and have been in a few times with tech-related issues. When you do come in with tech problems, you get given an appointment time to come back at a specific time later that day upstairs so bear that in mind when scheduling your day. I managed to trade in my old one for 10% off my new one which was decent, no grumbles there.

Pushy, obsessive girlfriends drag sweating, shifty-eyed boyfriends around here and coo in an innocent-but-underlyingly-persuasive manner at gigantic engagement rings. He suggested sending it off to Casio to see if they could work the magic required, and warned me that the parts could be expensive if they were able to fix it. I got a call a little over a week later with an update - they couldn't fix it. Bummer! I popped in to collect it, and even though Robert had spent a lot of time helping me, and trying to fix my watch, he insisted there was no charge. Brilliant communication together with warm and friendly customer service meant that even though I was pretty upset my watch couldn't be fixed, I left with a huge smile on my face. I couldn't recommend Stevenson's any more.

Not that it looks rough, or that the diamonds in the shop window are exactly hidden - this place blings from blocks away! There is a wide range of jewellery on display in the windows, from potential engagement rings to more simple and elegant designer necklaces. There are a lot of older fashioned styles available in Stevenson's if that's what you're looking for. Bear in mind, however, that they also stock an impressive range of more contemporary designs, including Pilgrim and Rennie Mack (my favourites). They also sell Hot Diamonds which make lovely gifts on special occasions such as 18th and 21st birthdays. Hot Diamonds are very subtle in deisgn, and elegant without being stuffy. On the contrary, they are very modern and unique in design, much akin to fellow big names such as Links of London. So I guess what I'm trying to say is there is something for everyone in here, and with Stevenson's stocking many different styles of jewellery, you won't be hard pushed to find something you like in here.

First introduced to Swatch on Time Square, I have to say this is a very very small shop which shows in the limited selection it has on offer. I love the the look of the shop although I never have shown interest in the watches. Since the opening of teh shop I actually got the chance to give Swatch a chance and I like it. The watches and jewellery are very different from what you will find in Argyle arcade. You may eel slightly inconspicuous in the small shop with all eyes on you but the staff are lovely and will give you a chance to look around in peace. You will get a good range of price, from moderately expensive to quite pricey, so there is something to suit all.

Although far too small to play host to the whole Swatch range (which is huge) - this store does have quite a good range of watches AND some swatch jewellery (which is really cute). The staff are really friendly and happy to advise and let you try on the watches.

I went to a few shops in princess square to see what was on offer I knew that if I was to buy a watch that it would have to be a good one, I already looked up online so I had an idea of what I wanted, most shops that I went to in princess square where rather pushy trying to sell me a high end Rolex for eight grand and this is not what l wanted. In Laings they had a few good watches on display, but the watch that l wanted to look at the staff seemed to be rather negative on the brand, and wanted me to but a watch that was twice the price and twice as ugly than the one I wanted to see. I made my purchase and bought a Swiss made Alpina watch that watch was nice but they would have to order in the strap that I wanted. Now a days you cannot buy a watch in a small box, the one I was given could comfortably fit a four slice toaster and that's no joke, and what was worse was that they had no bags to put the box in except a bin bag, you would think after spending a few thousand pounds in a store that they would have a bag to fit the purchase, these guys thought so and wrapped the box in a bin bag. I was happy with my purchase, but the customer service lacked.
