I lasted almost 24 hours before my husband brought me back to the ER. A tech dropped me and left me on the floor for a half hour. I had a large hematoma and the on-call doctor could not be reached. I got food poisoning. The call button in my room did not work. There was feces on the bedside commode. And oh yeah, THEY DIDN'T KNOW I WAS THERE! When I was in severe pain and needing to relieve myself, I was pressing my non-working call button for hours. When I finally used my cell phone to call the main number, a nurse came running down the hall, flung open my door, and exclaimed "Oh, my God! They didn't even know I was there! The nighttime staff failed to mention that somebody had been admitted the night before. I missed the breakfast rounds so a few hours later my first food of the day was a wet hotdog that I said I would not eat. They removed the tray and gave me no other options. After bringing a small claims case against them, a judge did award me some money for "pain and suffering" although no amount of money could ever make up for the hours that I was trapped in a bed with a broken ankle, a broken call button, and no one to help or even know I was there. Steer clear of this place if you don't want to be traumatized for life!

Let me start out by saying STAY VERY FAR AWAY from this place! It looks great when you first drive…read moreon to the property, nicely manicured gardens, ample parking, etc. but this is a perfect example of all that glitters is not necessarily gold. My father was sent from the hospital to MH to recover from a surgery. Due to the lack of qualified RN's and LPN's, he experienced nothing but setbacks and an overall deterioration in condition. They simply do not have enough Aides/RN's/LPN's to tend to all of the people rehabbing there. It is not unusual to push the red "help" button and not get a response for 30-45 minutes! Those buttons are provided for a reason and they are simply ignored, A LOT! They don't check on the residents as often as they should, case in point...we went to visit my father one day and found him lying on the floor, next to his bed, face down in urine! Additionally, they did NOT administer his medications properly therefore he was overly drugged A LOT! Upon asking the nurses about the medication regime that he was prescribed by his doctor, compared to what they were actually doing, mysteriously, none of them knew how to interpret their own computer software that tracks the medications they dispensed! How can meds possibly be dispensed properly if one does not understand how to use the computer system? There was no concern for the patients, when they get to you, they get to you and you take what you get. If you're a patient at any of these rehab facilities (let's face it, none of them are great), you MUST have a person (family member, friend, etc) who is advocating for you the entire time. If not, you will be taken advantage of and potentially have a worse outcome than what sent you there in the first place. Question EVERYTHING, take them to task, don't stand for getting pushed off. Hope this was helpful for those struggling with these sorts of things; it's not easy wading through our broken healthcare system.
