I visited the Danbury store today for the first time to talk with someone about Apple computers. I've used PC's up to now. I walked in and walked around a few minutes and no one asked if I needed help so I asked an employee standing around and he said that I had to sign in. He took me over to a young lady and told her I was interested in desktops. She started to show me the all in one and a mini and had no enthusiasm or real desire to try to demo the units and discuss the benefits of using Apple. I'm older so she assumed I guess I was just and older guy and I didn't deserve her time. Thanked her for her time and left. I will never go to this Apple store again. I hope this Apple store isn't indicative of how all the Apple stores operate. I may just stay with using a PC. Really too bad because in the end I might have bought two desktops. read more

Went to the apple store in Danbury fair mall. I was promptly helped by Ian. I was shopping for an Apple Watch and he went over all of the Watch options with me. He answered any questions I had and was very helpful. Really loving the Watch I got and AirTags. The only thing in the store I can't stand is there aren't any prices on the items anymore they have a tablet that you can scroll through which doesn't make sense sanitizers wise. Who wants to touch the same product as the last person. They should display prices like they used to and also have someone walking around sanitizing the electronics everyone is touching. read more

I use my iPad with a keyboard when my phone becomes too difficult to use and rely on my Apple Watch for hands-free communication when my arthritis and nerve pain flare up. I've been just using talk to text on my phone for now, but I wanted to upgrade my watch/iPad I'd been using for these because they helped so much. Unfortunately, I was unaware that the iPad I purchased did not have cellular capabilities, which I assumed would be included, since my old models were. I also way later, (after the first call with management, that's coming up) discovered that my upgraded watch lacked the functionality I need. This has left me unable to use these devices in the way that I desperately rely on for accessibility, which has been incredibly challenging given my health issues. I first sought help through Apple's online chat, where I spoke with Karandeep. After explaining my situation, Karandeep informed me that my iPad didn't have cellular, and I was directed to contact the point of sale for a return or exchange. I was told by Karandeep that the return window was 14 days, and I expressed concern, asking why since I had purchased the items months ago and that I wouldn't be eligible for a return he suggested that. I asked if there were exceptions, he said no. I then called the Apple Store at Danbury Mall, not expecting much help but simply wanting to share my experience with the team. The first team member I spoke with was very kind and connected me with Mariam, the manager. Mariam was incredibly empathetic, and after hearing my story, she assured me that she would make an exception and allow me to exchange the iPad, which brought me immense relief. I was so thankful, even crying with joy. I expressed my gratitude profusely and wrote a glowing review. However, when I called back to discuss the same issue regarding my Apple Watch, expressing no expectation of a resolution since she'd been so generous already, I was told by Mariam that the exchange would come with a $100 to $150 price difference for both the iPad and the watch each. This was information I had not been made aware of in our first conversation. While it makes sense since those models have additional features, I was never informed of this cost difference upfront, which was hard, especially given my current financial challenges. My bank account had been compromised, I've had car repairs to handle, and I've been out of work due to my health. I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of transparency throughout this process. The initial team member failed to inform me of the price difference, and Karandeep, the chat agent, provided me with guidance that didn't take into account my ineligibility for a return, even though I had shared all the relevant information. And finally, while Mariam initially made me feel hopeful by offering an exchange, the sudden revelation of the price difference was a crushing blow, especially after I had expressed my gratitude so openly. I feel that Apple should do more to inform customers, particularly those with accessibility needs, are fully informed about the products they are purchasing. It's not just about the technical specifications but the emotional and practical impact these devices have on people's lives. I now feel stuck with products that do not meet my accessibility needs, and I am deeply saddened by how this was handled. Not super happy with this location tbh - I don't know what is going on with their check-in system. After waiting 35 minutes you get a message that says to go check in - so we go check in and are immediately told to have a seat. Not a minute later a message pops on the phone that says because we didn't check in they had to skip us and go to the next customer ....?????? What in the world? Literally, same thing happens to the next gentleman right behind me. While we both waited to be seen (and we're told only 10 minutes, "we don't know what happened") 10 customers were helped before us. My advice... when they tell you to have a seat just ignore that. Unfortunately they couldn't even help with the issue I was having and I had to call Support. Waited 15 minutes and 45 minutes later they still haven't resolved my issue. read more

Waited almost an hr then decided to ask when someone would come over to sell me an iPhone which they replied "another 30 mins or so we are understaffed". I then left the store and bought my iPhone at Verizon in less then 15 minutes. I can't begin to list everything that disappointed me about my interface with this Apple store. I initially arrived for my appointment with the Genius Bar and had to wait over fifteen minutes only to be told that the information I received from Apple Care didn't apply to the store. Okay different rules so they proceeded to look at my phone and Alex said it was a software issue and I needed to do a complete restore. The restore was initiated and I was told I could leave the store and it would be completed in approximately an hour. I left the store and as soon as I lost the wifi signal the restore stopped. Upon arriving home I contacted Apple Care and was told what I had to do the restore again. Called Danbury store and was told a manager would have to call me later. No call back that day!!! When I finally talked with a 'lead' i was told that yes restore would stop when I lost the store Wi-Fi and Alex had given incorrect info. Don't waste time dealing w this store. Not timely! Do not know what they are doing! Criticized Apple Care and the previous Apple Store I dealt with in Reston VA. I only went to this store because I was in the area. The "Genius" Bar at Apple Store in Danbury, CT completely lied to me (and that do this often). They told me my iPhone's port was unrepairable - I needed a new phone. Thanks to a quick Google search I realized this was not true and Mobile Rescue (which I highly recommend) just fixed it for $125. They saved me $800. I understand Apple is not in the repair business but they absolutely should not outright lie to their customers. I am absolutely going to take this experience to others. I was in the Danbury Mall for other reasons; when i noticed I wasn't getting any WiFi reception. Having been in the mall before I should have Picked up the signal from one of the stores or the Mall's. I walked over to Apple and found an associate. There were plenty. They tried a soft reset and a few other things, to no avail. An Appointment was made and I was told about a half hour wait time. OK, to get back to the store when i received their text. When the text came I was within a one minute walk from the store. I approached the Tech that helped be earlier, ID'd myself, and said I was there for the scheduled Appointment, I was politely told to have a seat on a wooden box that someone would be with me shortly. After about 15 minutes, observing several employees in their blue T-shirts engaged in what appeared to be personal conversations. I approached them and stated that I was there for my scheduled appointment. Explained why I was there and if they could correct the problem. By that time the iPhone 6S+ had corrected itself. They didn't seem to have an exact reason, just some techno-babble. The reason for the lower score is manifold. Most of the "blue shirts" seem more interested in Sales, if you have an appointment, be there in a nanosecond or it will be cancelled, and if you are there you will be left waiting until they feel like answering your question. If this was the first time it happened I could excuse it. But, you'll find the same level of customer attention at most Apple stores. The Ridge Hill location is famous for it. read more

Drove 30 mins to have my iPhone screen fixed. It had been dropped and screen was completely black. They said it could not be repaired and gave me the only option of buying a replacement. Also felt compelled to remind me that if I had the insurance it would have been covered. Didn't need salt in the wound, thank you very much. That night, tried charging it and it rang with an incoming call, so I could tell it was alive, just not showing the display. It was also showing up on 'locate my iPhone' from my iPad. Called a local 3rd party repair shop, took it to them the next day and voila! it was working again in under 30 minutes and less than $100. I cannot help but feel like it was a clever ploy to try to get me to just buy a new phone. Will not use this location again and probably will stick to the 3rd party repair shop who fixed it for any other issues with my multiple other Apple products. Overall very disappointing. read more

Costumer service is just not as good as you would expect from a big company such as Apple. I went in today in order to get an AirPods replaced and I was ignored by staff when trying to get a staff member to help me out. They preferred to talk to each other instead of doing their job and helping costumers. When someone did help me find someone to help me out with the replacement, the person I got had a nasty mood. Never made eye contact and didn't even ask me what my problem was, just gave me a price for the replacement ear piece. I asked him about the AppleCare I had registered for and he just shook his head and said that I should had brought the damaged item with me and was not willing to look up the price for the replacement earpiece with insurance applied. I tried to give the store the benefit of the doubt but they just have poor customer service. There is no easy way to shop in the store. You cannot shop without an appointment (even on a non busy Tuesday). Even if you book an appointment they run around 20 minutes behind. I was shuffled from employee to employee over three times when I asked basic questions about an item that they could not answer. I do not understand why they couldn't have employees who specialized in one section of the store who could answer basic questions. There are also so many employees there and many who appear to be supervisors are just on their iPads hanging around the store. When I approached one for help they were quick to tell me someone else could help (which would have been nice if it didn't take 20 minutes). The customer service in general at this store is just bad. There's a lack of general product knowledge, the staff are untrained, there's a lack of communication between staff, and the customer is left to feel like a bother when asking for help. read more

Excellent customer service is often hard to find, but over the years has kept me coming back to Apple, and specifically the stores. I understand how folks sometimes get impatient, but if a store is really busy when you arrive you kind of have to expect to wait. From the second, I walked in with the Apple case number, I was greeted with ambivalence and dismissiveness. Everyone I talked to at the Danbury Connecticut Apple Store was self-assured that I, the customer was not following protocol. "You will need a genius bar reservation to do that". "I was told I didn't need one by three separate phone reps." I asserted. "Did you order this online?", "We don't have a replacement Apple TV 4K 32GB." How can this be? It's a new product and indeed there were plenty on the store shelves. I told the phone reps that I work long hours, don't make a ton of money and don't live close to an Apple Store so I hope there would be no issues with me walking in. Eventually the store manager, Tom, was brought over not to help or appease me, but to be the 'heavy'. 'We don't have inventory for this item, so we can order it and you will have to come back, or you can go to another apple store.' While the store did have Apple TV K4 32GB in stock and on the shelves, those were reserved for 'new purchases'. Tom wasn't pleasant, and he wasn't willing to budge. At times he insinuated that my conversation with the phone reps couldn't be true. Which was deeply insulting. Because of his actions and inactions I'm left very unhappy after hours of phone calls, hours in the car, and an hour attempting to pursued with Apple store managers. All I wanted was to give them my hard earned money and them to give me a working product. Shame on the Danbury Apple Store managers. read more

My mom shattered her iPhone. She made an 11:45 appt and arrived early at 11:30. She recently had knee surgery and was clearly uncomfortable standing. Despite the 10 open seats, no employee offered her a chair. In addition to making her wait in such a way, for those 15 minutes there were 4 idle employees just speaking to one another, 'hanging out.' So this past Friday morning I bought in my macbook to see if I needed to swap out the battery for a new one I was told that it is good for another 250 cycles. Not knowing what cycles are Wilson helped me to understand what this means and how it works. So I was good for awhile for my battery. Next thing he noticed was my iOS operating system I was running was out of date so he hooked me up to Snow leopard at no cost and he explained to me more into what I could do to speed up my macbook. Wilson was very understanding and accommodating he helped me through the whole process and explained everything to me fully. In the last three months I have purchased a new MacBook, an iPad, and an iPhone 7. They have been relatively easy processes. However, in February when I was purchasing my computer and iPad the girl who was checking me in saw me talking to one of the guys who is in charge of business set up and assumed that I was being helped when he asked me some questions and was answering some of my questions which was extremely frustrating. The only reason I ended up being helped that day was because the person I was with asked how much longer it would be before someone came over to me. The girl looked flabbergasted and realized her mistake and informed them that she cancelled my person cause the business guy was with me. I then had to go back to the Apple Store 2 days later because I was given a defective iPad and they easily exchanged it for me. Unfortunately paying $700+ for an iPad I expect it to work properly from the beginning. It was a huge inconvenience because I live 40 minutes away and was at the store for less than 10 minutes. I had to purchase a new phone yesterday because my battery completely died. My phone was turning off at 80-90% and wouldn't turn on until I plugged it in to charge. I (and my entire family) have been Apple customers for over a decade, as well as shareholders. I felt I was treated with disrespect by both the associate and managers. Their people skills were greatly lacking. I have never had a bad experience at any other Apple store until this one. My Verizon account said my year anniversary was 5/5 when I went into exchange a faulty cord on 5/4. I traveled one hour to the Danbury store, which I expressed. I stopped by the store hoping to simply ask when the newest iPads would be available I found that the Apple Store was now being run by US Border Patrol and rather than being a customer, I was an unwanted illegal alien trying to lie and steal my way into Texas. From the two security guards blocking the entrance with folded arms to the reservation agent who practically chased me from the front of the store, it was clear that I was unwelcome and completely ruining Apple's day. After a 40-minute wait, the staff member who finally greeted me didn't have answers for any of my questions--but at least he smiled and wanted to help. We ventured into the Apple store today because one of our phones was malfunctioning and we needed to transfer data from this phone to a new phone. We ran into a few glitches and it seemed pretty impossible. The Verizon store couldn't help with the transfer since the Apple icloud was under another account. Long story short, Chris from Apple was awesome! He took the time out to help us with a phone that was so slow anyone else would have called it quits. Chris persevered and helped recover some important data. He made our time in a crowded chaotic Apple store worth it. When we came home, we had a few more questions and had an Apple support phone call scheduled. Absolutely ridiculous...there were literally over 50 people in this store, closer to 100, you could barely walk in the store. I went to the Genius Bar for them to take a look at why my MacBook isn't booting anymore. After being ignored for 5 minutes someone from the counter asked me what he could help me with. I explained that my MacBook wasn't booting and he told me to go talk to another employee who he pointed out to me. After pushing through the mob of people surrounding that employee, he turns and says, "everyone waiting to speak with me, I can't help you, go make a line somewhere and I'll get to you whenever". Seriously??? I understand if the store is overwhelmed with customers, but take the time to treat everyone nicely. I've used apple products for years and have always had great experiences both with the products and with the employees on the rare occasion that I needed them to take a look at something for me. Went through 4 i phone 6 for same issue and manager each time kept blaming us for software issue. Finally on phone number 5 which only lasted 2 hours before having same bug. I demanded a refund. Phone was only a month old. Jessica the manager refused to give a refund and wound up calling apple to get a refund. **WARNING what they mean be remanufactured is that they sit in the back and refurbish RETURNED phones. I've been having an issue with my iPad 2 after installing iOS 9.0.2, so I attempted to "downgrade" back to iOS 8.x.x. The iPad didn't like it, so I tried to reupgrade to what I had - and it didn't work. So, off I went to this Apple Store. I walked in, and after speaking to only two people I was able to speak with a technician. He walked away with my iPad, only to return after less than ten minutes - saying that it was a hardware issue, and my only options were to buy a "refurbished" model that they had in back, or a brand new model. I didn't have the money for even the refurbished model, and left the store quite incensed over this update. The reason that I'm writing this review is to call out the complete and utter idiot technician that pretended to help me. When I got home, I made a last-ditch attempt to reinstall my previous update - and it worked just fine. Everything back the way it was - still running slow, but running. The tech told me that it was a hardware issue, they could do nothing, and that my iPad was essentially a brick. It was, in fact - and continues to be - a software issue. He spent a couple minutes with the unit, and decided that he could sell me a new one rather than actually do his job. Screw you, schmuck. read more

If you've never been to the Apple store in the Danbury Fair Mall, don't do it. Save yourself the trouble and drive the extra miles to the next nearest store, but DON'T bother going to this one. I had an "expert" ring me up for a laptop when all I wanted to do was ask about the specs and the price with their Barclay card deal. She literally signed me up for a credit card without my consent and that is STILL following me-- I still am having to clean up after the mess she made by opening an account for me without my consent months after visiting the Apple store. These people are not experts. They are sh*tty, underqualified sales people just trying to shove a VERY expensive product down your throat before you can even make an informed decision. They know little to nothing about the actual capabilities or details of the product they're selling. In an economy like this, you don't want to risk somone ringing you up for a $2,100 bill without you even realizing it. Be safe. Stay guarded if you go in. If they pressure you, ask for a manager.
