I want to start by reminding everyone that Wisconsin has a Move Over law. If you're on a multi lane highway and you see a disabled vehicle, police, EMS, fire, road repair, tow truck, postal vehicle or whatever on the side of the road you should move over a lane for safety. If you're already in the next lane, make room for drivers to move away from the side of the road. I feel very strongly about this because tow truck drivers have families to go home to. Anyway, it was a dark and stormy night. Maybe I should have started with that. My car electrical system warning light came on giving me about 20 seconds to pull to the side of the Interstate in the Pewaukee area before my car completely died. I would later find out it was the alternator. AAA couldn't find any available tow trucks, and running through the area tow trucks on YELP made me realize that a lot of towing companies list some bogus address so that a search by distance yields some really inappropriate phone numbers. One company in Whitewater WI actually had me on the phone for 10 minutes before admitting it would take a couple days for them to come and get me. I was way down the list (yes, sorted by distance) when Apple Towing answered on the second ring, helped me figure out where I was, and dispatched a brave tow truck driver in under half an hour. In order to hook my car up, at one point his head was maybe a foot and a half away from idiots zipping by at breakneck speeds reckless texting-driving in the pouring rain. He towed me all the way to my neighborhood mechanic, Rowell's, in Milwaukee for a pretty reasonable price. I tipped him the tiny amount of cash I had on me, and he graciously thanked me like I was generous. When you're completely at the mercy of someone who could totally rip you off, that's when common decency is most appreciated. read more

I hope I have his name right, Brad, from Apple Towing. I was in a jam today and needed a jump in Pewaukee, and Brad came quickly. He jumped out of his vehicle with a smile and a big hello and got my car running. He then kept an eye on me as I wound my way down the road behind him. My car suddenly failed again and when he lost sight of me, he came back to help. As he was hooking up the jumper device, we noticed the wires to the alternator were severed, and he helped me jury-rig the thing. It took a bit of effort, but he got me back on the road again, and I eventually made it back home to northern Illinois. He didn't charge me anything extra, and refused to accept the small amount of cash I was trying to give him. I am so thankful I called this company! I would recommend them very highly! read more

We broke down in the middle of the night & called AAA (our insurance) they said they couldn't come to get us until the morning & we could NOT ride back with the tow truck. I got stranded at my son's daycare center in Brookfield. After doing a bit of searching, I called Apple Towing thanks to the Yelp reviews. Al answered and was immediately helpful, walking me through the options I had first without having to send him out there initially. He gave me suggestions on dealerships and garages to send my car too and even made a personal call to a garage himself to see if they had an emergency opening for my car. He arrived promptly for my tow and even took the time to try and figure out my issue before towing it to see if he could save me some $$ at the dealership. Low and behold...he did! I used Apple Towing to get my keys out of my car. The price to get it out was so much better than the other places I tried around the area. One place tried to charge me almost $100 to do this!! If you need to pick someone to do this please choose Apple Towing. The gentleman that helped me was very nice and even taught me a few things as he was getting my keys out of my car. Yes, the owner is polite on the phone but his professionalism beyond that stunk up the whole south side! First it's 90 min, then another 30 min, then he can't make it to his 3rd quotes time! Then he won't accommodate around my prior engagement to tow at 8pm! Then I agree on 9 am the next morning which of course becomes 10am! Then it's too cold my truck won't start, come on I may have been born but it wasn't yesterday. As a small business owner your trucks are your livelihood! Most everybody knows that diesel trucks get plugged in over night and/or garage kept in the extreme cold! This is after I asked for a discount for the repeated delays! Call around people you will find cheaper, in fact, the guy who's truck did start and got to my vehicle in an hour was quoted at almost 50% cheaper, but I threw in an extra 20 for the other guys professionalism and speed! Wonderful service to Wauwatosa. I've been meaning to leave this review for a long time, but last winter after one of our largest snowfalls, my wife's car broke down in the middle of the street. None of the tow trucks located in our immediate area were available for 2+ hours, but we called Apple in Brookfield and he was there in half an hour. We also trusted the tower's recommendation of mechanic over the guy we had previously been using, and we're incredibly pleased with the mechanic we were towed to (DLB Auto Repair) and have returned to him multiple times for work on all our cars. Very friendly and prompt service from Apple Towing. I hope I never need to use them again, but if we need a tow we are calling Apple Towing from now on. Oh, and despite being located in Brookfield, our bill was lower than the estimates from the local places in Wauwatosa who were too busy to help us out. read more

I called Apple Towing when I was stranded recently on a late Friday afternoon. I had just left the Milwaukee airport and was about to enter the highway when my car died and refused to start again. I looked online for reviews of towing companies in the Milwaukee area and Apple had a significant percentage of excellent reviews so I called and Al answered. Then timing was bad, about 4:30 pm on a Friday, and I needed a tow back to Appleton, about 115 miles. Al cancelled his plans for dinner with his wife and proceeded to tow me back to Appleton and deposit my car in my garage. Al came downtown from Brookfield when I couldn't get my car to start, expecting to tow it from out of an underground parking spot. He was at my car within an hour of calling though it wasn't an emergency situation. He also gave me a warning call to let me know he was a few minutes away. Rather than tow and charge a higher amount, he tried and succeeded at getting the car to start by a jump using his equipment. He ran a test on the battery to make sure I could somewhere on my own to replace it and gave me some insights into what I should ask for at the garage. I called Apple Towing based on online reviews and I was pleasantly surprised with the accuracy of the rating; the service is excellent! Al arrived promptly and was friendly and pleasant to work with. First, the towing rate was not bad at all and he just seems to be one of this guys that go above and beyond to help you out which is really appreciated when you find yourself already stressed out about having to do car repairs. Al made sure that the car didn't start before attempting to tow (just in case I didn't need the tow after all). He gave me his opinion on what the problem was (and he was right) and gave me good suggestions about area garages but he is not pushy, so he transported the vehicle to the one I had already chosen (after paying the repair bill, I wished I would've listened to his recommendations). I got to add that his truck was the cleanest I've ever seen and he ensured he took good care of my vehicle and actually kept it clean (usually servicemen and mechanics are so careless in this area, not Al!).
